afternoon all
NPM - after i had ds i return back to work early when he was 4months (way too early!) i was under pressure to do it from my manager (who was a so-called friend too). within a week of being back i knew i couldnt do it anymore. i was pretty much being bullied by the manager and i was left to do everything as i was her deputy. never mind the fact that i had been off for almost 7months. but she was telling head office other stuff that wasnt true and turned all the staff against me. i went to the drs and got signed off with PND. i was sick for two weeks before deciding that i wasnt ever going back there. i had worked there for almost 10yrs. they paid me full pay while my 3month noticed expired without a sicknote. that may have been down to the fact the i asked for grievance meeting regarding the manager. which they said there was no evidence of what i claimed. i appealed it and they said the same. a yr later they found what a complusive liar and a bully she was and she was sacked.
sorry i rambled on a bit there :o
today i have been busy. went to what used to be a very big sunday maret but now is rubbish
they used to have loads of stalls selling plants etc but didnt see a single one. ds got a framed lightening mcqueen picture for his bedroom though  so went to b&q instead.
have planted the carrots and repotted the beans. was going to plant the flowers we got but the rain started to come down pretty quickly.
ds has been as miserable as sin today. no idea why. his bottom is healing nicely and doesnt seem to be sore. he slept well but he isnt eating and is just whinging non stop. looks a bit washed out and red around the eyes. i gave him some calpol and popped him into bed. he's not sleeping but he is happy lying there
hubby is in the good books at the mo. he asked ds' godmum to take him out for a couple of hrs yesterday afternoon to give us some time alone. we sat and watched father of the bride and made some chocolate cakes. we talked about how things have been etc. he is helping out more as well. ds came home and pretty much had a bath then bed. he went to a fun day and came back shattered. then hubby made us a picnic type dinner which sat on the the living room floor and and ate. we were just chatting about the dreams we had when we ds was born and how we have forgotten them. so we're aiming to get that back on track. nothing big just the opposite of what i had growing up. want his home life to be as happy and settled as possible. i want ds to grow up to be open minded too. which is why i wanted to teach him sign language. i was the only deaf kid i knew. and i got a lot of stick for that. i dont want ds to be like one of those kids that treated me like that
my goodness i am waffling today :o will speed up a little.... we then watched BGT and hubby sang me a song and me all emotional
:rotfl: we just spent the rest of the evening just chatting rubbish.
then today we havent argued at all. just had a nice peaceful day "I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0 -
Hi all,
Quick one from me.
N9eav - good to see you back. How's your poly tunnel?
HH - hope your dress making is going to plan.
Fingers crossed for all those who are doing exams, dissertations and final course work. It will be lovely when it's over x x xOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

Whoop assignment finished :j it just needs a few tweaks that'll I do tomorrow and needs to be page numbered etc, but the hard bit is done!
Me and toyboy are off to see Attack The Block in the cinema later, going to the early evening showing as neither of reckon we'll be awake enough for the late one :rotfl:. I got to pick the film, but was under strict instructions not to pick anything too 'girly' :rotfl:
Not gone food shopping, didn't have the energy! I had random freezer food for lunch (potato waffles, veggie burger with beans). Have made my list though and will go tomorrow after work.

Well done FB what a relief x
NPM it does not matter posting your resignation. What does matter is you and your family. I have worked all my life as has beloved DH, but our most important job was bringing up our children. Work, whilst important to do properly was a means to keeping the family fed & watered, clothed and housed. I am a teacher and one lightbulb moment for me was when DD2 was asking for help with her homework and I had PILES of marking to do. FLASH - what I was doing was for other people's children and she was asking her mother for help. SHE WAS MY CHILD. I have always wanted the absolute best for the children I teach - should my daughter have less from her mother? After that moment, I always stopped school work immediately if she wanted my time.
Roll on a few years and now am grandmother to an ASD child (earlybird course, gluten & casein free diet). We had many embarrassing times in public where I'm sure people looked on criticising. He has got calmer as he's got older. With his growing maturity we can now talk about what has, what is and what is going to happen most of the time. He still has behaviours, but some are ASD and some are just kids stuff.
What I am trying to say (rather badly I fear) is that jobs are important but if you are blessed with a child then they are THE most important. Hugs and love x x xOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

Hi all,
Firstly NPM - don't feel guilty - I emailed my resignation on Friday to a job that I'd not even started - and they'd paid for me to have an enhanced CRB check. But I have to put my family first - and when they're at school I chill out and relax - I need it to deal with DS1s violent outbursts - like Noah, but just can't get a diagnosis - GRRR local authority.xxx
Have spent whole weekend at MILs bedside as on Friday we all thought she wouldn't last the night. Haven't been able to sleep much as you can imagine, but she's perked up and is continuing on. Needless to say, when I got into bed last night and found the sheets and duvet were covered in cat wee I wasn't thrilled! At least tonight I am back in my own bed! OH gone back to work, so have taken boys home - they won't be visiting again - its too much for DS1.
Planning to redecorate the kitchen this week as I think it needs doing, so when I've taken the boys to school tomorrow will be off to B&Q to get paint! Going for a shabby french chic kitchen I think. Off to check out shabby chic fred.Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
DH has gone to Lotherton Hall as they have a gardening fair with lots of stalls and exhibitions as well as gardening experts. Oldest DD has gone with him so packed a picnic for them both- huge flask of tea, six filled rolls, four chocolate biscuits, two small pork pies, two bags of crisps, two bananas and two oranges- should keep them going all day and save a bomb,
Youngest has As exam tomorrow so her big sister is helping her revise while I cleaned up kitchen worktops, bleached sinks and mopped floor after making them a late breakfast.
Thought I felt fine apart from blocked up nose and a cough but wanted quiet day so stayed at home instead of going on picnic - just as well as i started to cough, then was sick:o Now tucked up in bed in PJs and keeping out of way as I don't want to pass on any germs.
DDs have just had home made burgers and there is lasagne from yesterday in the fridge for later. I am just going to have hot drinks and not risk eating for the rest of the day.
DH pleased as we ordered a new larger computer monitor this morning
and it should arrive midweek. He was gutted he missed out on one on his first venture into e bay.
NPM
You are doing the right thing so please don't let the stress make you ill. Family comes first and you are a fantastic mum.
Hester
Good luck with the dress.

I have planted so much today that there is not a spare inch in the garden, now all I have to do is keep the pigeons away and hopefully watch it all grow:)
The chicken is roasting and soup is made for tomorrows lunch for me and OH, it smells lovely in the kitchen.
Lou, I am so glad that things are getting better for you.
NPM, I agree with everyone else, You and Noah come first, not your work.
Silvermaid, I am a teacher too and I know exactly what you mean.
Have a restful evening all:)0 -
Hi All!
Just back from w/e away. Need to settle back to real OS stuff this coming week - all this travelling around has rather shot the budget!
N9eav - long time no see - glad you're OK.
NPM - as others have said, you need to do what is right for you and your family, that has to be the number 1 priority.
Hester, glad the dress is cut out!
OK, need too finish unpacking now. Hope you've all had a good w/e.Resolution:
