The way in which they appear to have "handled" the orders is most likely to keep their "pre-fulfilment cancel rate" from being effected:

What is the pre-fulfilment cancel rate?

When your Seller Account is enabled for Charge When Ship, you will see information about your pre-fulfilment cancel rate on your Customer Metrics page. The pre-fulfilment cancel rate is the number of orders cancelled by a seller prior to dispatch-confirmation divided by the number of orders in the time period of interest. When computing this metric, we consider all order cancellations initiated by the seller for any reason. When a merchant cancels an order placed by a buyer prior to fulfilment, we have found this is mainly due to the item being out of stock. It is important to ensure that items you have listed on Amazon.co.uk are in stock and available to be dispatched. Sellers should work toward achieving and maintaining a pre-fulfilment cancel rate of less than 2.5%.

By saying it is despatched first of all and then issuing a refund, it ensures there is no negative effect on their percentage. It doens't make a difference to them financially as Amazon only charge orders and pay sellers on confirmation of despatch (Charge When Ship), and refunds are processed (and charged to the sellers balance) within a few hours of being requested usually. As a buyer it may effect you depending on how long your bank or credit card takes to refund in comparisson to the inital charge.

Of course, I may be completely wrong, but I see no other logic to despatching and charging only to refund a short while later with no explanation.

Me too even though I was mad enough to try again when the price of the bars went down for a while...

I agree with iecuk it definitely looks like they did it to protect their ratings and it looks like its something they make a habit of!!

Not a big fan now as its rather sneaky!!!

Same as Evans saying items were OOS instead of being honest...

I'd rather be told off for misusing a code than be lied to

Or at least they should admit it was THEIR ERROR in the first place!!!

Check your bank accounts, even tho I got the cancellation email, the money has been taken out of my account.
  • Still not had a refund e-mail for the second half of my order - so I'll just have to wait and see.

Something tells me that I won't get the bars though - will definately keep an eye on the bank account - if they take and refund the full order I'll be more impressed than if they take the full order and only refund part!

I've left feedback for them. 1 out of 5 was the lowest you could do, but they deserve it for the way they handled this.

I suggest everybody leaves them some feedback so maybe it lowers their overall ratings a bit and Amazon might notice.

    Hello all

Thanks for your feedback. Just to say sorry for all the trouble this grabbit has caused. :o:o:o:o I really thought it was a genuine bargain, and wasn't aware that Oneclickpharmacy had pulled this stunt before.

It appears to be a cynical marketing ploy - such a great bargain would encourage people to visit their website to look for more. Especially naughty is cancelling orders after the dispatch notifications have been issued to protect their ratings. I feel a complaint to Amazon coming on.....

I also purchased 4 boxes from 'Natural Matter' but the order not yet cancelled. Did anyone else order from them?

Great idea dougs; I've just left feedback as well. I wouldn't have bothered if they'd just cancelled due to pricing error but charging and refunding when they've no intention of supplying is going too far.
