PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Please also avoid posting personally identifiable information, including links to your own online property listing which may reveal your address. Thank you for your understanding.

I feel exactly as you do.
I am disinclined to work for nothing boosting the profits of a private business venture which treats us like pondlife!0 -
Yes! (I loved your post on llz, btw). Although 'daring' isn't really quite the right word, is it? I'm trying to think of a printable form of the one I have in mind...jjlandlord wrote: »Their point no. 7 really cracked me up: Trying to justify your actions by taking children and football players as examples is really quite daring...0 -
Well they are meant for Tom to read... I am sure that Tom is following this thread as closely as any of us
I only wish he were. Isn't part of the problem that he is simply disconnected from the everyday life of the forum - he just parachutes in and gives orders when the noise from the masses gets too loud to ignore any longer? I honestly don't think he has much clue and I wish I knew what he does all day.
The fact that he does not reply to his emails is a symptom of this. Also, a while ago, when all that stuff blew up about 'Topic Experts' (esp. the ones he gave instant 'knighthoods' to for their cash!), he really didn't get it then, either. Several people emailed him to protest about the effect this had had on morale and he just kept insisting these new TEs were wonderful and would keep the site afloat.
When I was nominating some of the regulars to be Topic Experts, it was like communicating with the dead. He takes literally weeks and weeks to get back to anyone on anything, if he ever does. (I'm not the only one who has experienced this).0 -
Well if anyone wants to cut and paste post 214 to LLZ, feel free. I am not logging in there at present.0

Yes, come on, MTG, get an avatar. As it looks like we may be stuck on MSE for evermore, we had better get in the spirit of things and learn to LIKE IT.Mind_the_Gap wrote: »*Most of them from me, though?!
Wow - just clocked the avatar! I must see if I can beat that. (Once I've worked out how to upload an image in the first place).0 -
I am much less sure. He seems far more concerned about emails from disgruntled newbies than in the complaints of those who actually take the trouble to answer their questions (and put up with their insults in return for it).In any case I am sure that Tom is following this thread as closely as any of us0
