    Morning all :hello:

I hope I have a better day today because yesterday I had "one of those days" and am beginning to think I must be going senile at the grand old age of 28.

First of all, I thought I'd lost my swipe card that gets me into my office. KNEW it must be in a pile of mail at home that I'd removed from my handbag yesterday morning. Borrowed a temporary one from work and, when I got home last night, looked for the missing card in the pile of paper and it wasn't there. Except it was - I was looking in a completely DIFFERENT pile of paper  Finally found it just before leaving for work this morning.

Then after work yesterday I went to Robert Dyas to buy a toaster... and left my credit card there  It took me until I got home at midnight to realise it was missing, a further half an hour of mad panic searching for it before I realised I must have left it at Robert Dyas, and a night of interrupted sleep because I kept waking up with a start and dreading that they wouldn't actually have it. I phoned them first thing this morning and luckily they've got it.

THEN I went to the loo before bed and managed to lose a mini plastic bottle of shower gel irretrievably down the loo  I knocked it in when I reached round to get a new loo roll, and it disappeared completely down the loo before I even flushed  - I reached in as far as my rubber gloves would allow but could not find it. It was only a magazine freebie so it's not a big deal to lose it, but I just hope it's not lying just on the other side of the U-bend waiting to cause a blockage in future...

And finally... I only realised yesterday that Christmas is only a couple of weeks away  Despite all the talk of it on here, I always ignore most of it because it always starts in about September which in my view is too early, and because I've been so busy moving house, my usual forward planning and organisational skills have gone right out of the window! Normally I would start getting my brain into gear on Advent Sunday, but because I went away over the weekend I didn't go to church, so it passed me by, and now I have 2.5 weeks to go until Christmas and have bought a total of THREE presents (out of a minimum of six), NO drinks, NO tree and NO food

Anyway, I hope today will be better!

Good luck to Roz_V with the essay, and (((hugs))) to kyle's DS1 and to anybody else who requires one.

    Love Rzl xx

  • Morning everyone!

I've not been on for a few days as I've been feeling so awful. Luckily I only seem to be feeling sick and being sick in the mornings at the moment but, of course, each morning lasts 6 hours or so - so that seems a very long time! It's the strangest feeling - I'll be super ill (this morning's dash to the bathroom after putting on my deoderant was no fun at all) then I am STARVING at lunchtime and have a hot meal! I'm kind of glad in a way because each symptom makes me feel more pregnant although it's still very difficult keeping it from friends and colleagues and family when I'm looking green and rushing to the loo all the time.

I'm not organised at all for Christmas - but I don't mind this year. My OH and I are holing up at home with our pets and just having a nice day together. We're not really buying presents for each other so we'll just get some nice food in and play some games and watch some telly. It'll be weird not being with the families at Christmas but lovely to spend some quality time with my OH. Everyone else's wee presents I will buy on the way to see them on 27th/28th. I need to talk to my OH though as we can't really afford to send Christmas cards - I haven't bought them either, but it's the stamps that are really worrying me. Of course it's only me who worries about these things, but I just don't want to let people down and appear rude and get crossed off other people's lists for next year!

CrazyChik - are you and your OH talking again?

I hope everyone has a lovely day.

    Love

    Valentine xxx

Just thought I'd share with you a proud granny moment :D

Travis did his first wee wee in the potty for me tonight. :D We made such a fuss (think of winning the lottery) and he was so happy. Flushed it down the loo and waved ta ta. He's gone to bed. Not asleep as I can hear him chatting to Poppy.

Bgn Rzl Snap. I know the feeling. Been so busy with the house Christmas has just crept up and I've only discovered this week on how close. I have 3 gifts stored but I did send out cards this morning. :p

    VickyA Good luck. Sounds promising.

Off to have a surf then a shower and do some more trip planning. I think I'll still be organising on the plane over. (((((((hugs))))))) to all.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    :santa2: Morning!

(((((hugs)))))) Kyles ds and to all that need them today.

Have finally managed to empty a freezer!:j so can now defrost it, clean it and switch it on ready for the costco shop!:D I found a large tub of gooseberries in there from 2000! worryingly I have only had the freezer for 2 years!:rotfl: Still made a rather nice gooseberry crumble which I have tucked into for an easy breakfast today.

Day 7 and the Christmas decoration for the day is a string of star shaped fairy lights! :xmassmile

Hope you all have a good day

    Morning all.
Not a particularly good morning here although the sun is trying to shine. MrW has just hung some washing out but I shall have to sneak out and rehang it. Why can't men hang washing up properly?
Everywhere is pretty tidy so I will swish round the bathroom when I've had my caffeine.
My hairdresser is coming to give me a chop later, she charges me £4 for a wet cut. I have naturally curly hair and only ever have it cut but when I lived in the big city I used to pay £40!!
Dinner tonight is MrW's favourite, egg and oven chips with some cold gammon that I cooked yesterday, so that's easy enough.
I wanted to pass on a tip about Christmas decorations. When I have emptied all the boxes of baubles I wrap the empty boxes in fancy paper and leave them under the tree for the duration. It saves having to put them back in the loft and hides the empty space where the presents have been.
Coffeee finished and the sun is shining.
    Have a good day.

    Hi all
I haven't been around for ages as have been so busy in work and the mornings haven't been great for me for a couple of weeks as I have had dreadful morning sickness. I'm so chuffed, I'm 6 weeks pregnant so have spent all my spare time reading about it and clearing out cupboards and rooms to decide how much space we have so I can start squirreling stuff away for when baby arrives.

I also had all my Christmas shopping and cards finished and posted by the end of November. There are couple of things I am still waiting to arrive, but they have been ordered.

Our washing machine broke down on the weekend, DH finally got round to looking at it yesterday but couldn't see the problem so I need to fiind someone to come and have a look at it. Hopefully it will be repairable as I don't want to have to shell out for another this close to christmas (the money is there, but I can think of better things to spend it on).

Dh is away on his Xmas do tonight and staying over so I won't see him until tomorrow evening when he gets in from work. I will be really strange staying in the house by myself tonight. I'm also off to Cost co with a friend this evening, she doesn't know I'm pg yet so I'll have to keep my mouth shut about all the gorgeous baby clothes they have in there. They have these gorgeous bear snow suits, complete with ears and paw prints on the hands and feet.

The wind hasn't stopped hear since last week. All our patio furniture blew off our patio over the weekend, the problem is we don't have the room in the garage for it as DH's buggy is in there and all his tools are out. We really need to sort it out as we are having a New Years Eve party and the garage will be great for the extra fridge we are getting for people to smoke in without having to go outside (its an integral garage and I don't want them smoking in the house especially as I'm pg).

Well enough about me. Hope everyone is well and looking forward to Christmas.
  • morning all, i'll start with hugs to all that need them esp Kyle's son ((((hugs))) well what a night of wind and rain, i was hoping that it would stop this morning so i could go into town and not get battered and soaked but hopefully it will keep others at home so i can do the shopping fairly quickly  not much doing today christmas shopping in poundland and wilko's then off to my mum's to knit some barbie clothes for my niece's christmas stocking (can't knit very well so have to do it at mum's so she can pick up stitches and sort out any mistakes lol), have a lovely day whatever you do and fingers crossed that it will stop raining

    xxxxxx
ps must add that i'm also buying a cheap bottle of vodka as the toffee vodka on the christmas board sounds lovely

Congratulations and ((((hugs))))) to Welshlassie and Valentine x Morning sickness is rotten isn't it? Many years ago (well 22) when I was expecting my dd I had terrible morning sickness and dh got a book out of the library on pregnancy. He used to read over and over the chapter where it said that morning sickness was a sign that I was producing enough hormones to help prevent a miscarriage. This was my 2nd pregnancy and much longed for (had a 6 year gap) so this did help me deal with it as best I could Have you tried nibbling on ginger biscuits? Just a tiny bit seemed to help.

Mrs MW that is a great tip about decorating the bauble boxes and one that I will put into use this year. :T

We are off to a log cabin on the Saturday and it seems there isn't a shop for miles so going prepared. Did the same last year and went to Lidl on the Friday morning where there were loads of fresh veg.

    Hi everyone,

Kyle, like Tinkerbelle I wondered if there was some sort of Forum he could join - it would help him to see that he isn't alone.

Feeling a bit better today. Waiting for news from dd, her manager said she wanted to see her with the HR person about something exciting! Hope it's promotion but she is being v pessimistic about it.

Managed to tidy away all the bags of presents which have been littering the hall and landing, with just me and DH around there is no need to hide anything and I've been leaving them around thinking they would be wrapped soon (yeah right).

Still haven't got the baubles on the tree though - that must be tonights project.

    Sue
