  • Morning Everyone

Wet and windy here this morning - bit of a change from this time last week when we were on hols, hey ho.

I managed to tackle the holiday ironing yesterday and have finished and put it away  the last lot of washing out of the laundry basket is now drying as we speak.

Found out yesterday we get paid next week which is a week early for us - I'd actually rather not be as it just means more budget planning. Fortunately, and for the first time ever, I don't need to be paid early to finish my Christmas shopping thanks to MSE.

Plans for today include w*** and I want to pop out at lunchtime and get some Christmas cards for the family.

    B - Cereal
    L - Turkey Salad Sandwiches
D - Tuna Steak, Carrot & Swede Mash and Veg

Have a great day everyone xxxx
Its nice to be important but more important to be nice!
  • Morning Guys!

OH has just left to take DD to school....still cant believe what time she has to be at school:eek:

This cold damp weather is playing havoc with my bones and muscles.....anyway..cant moan as theres always someone worse than yourself:o

DW will need to go on later. Toilet has been cleaned and another washload needs to be taken to FIL's when OH gets back. Rest of the house is pretty clean and tidy.

Cooker and hob came yesterday and they look lovely. Have freecycled the other 2, so hopefully they will go over the next couple of days. Today OH has a few jobs needing to be done for tomorrow as we have his brother coming to sort the worktops and cut in the new sink and tap (which was bought a year ago!) and of course the hob.

We are away Saturday, so cleaner is coming in then. Also have to drop the ironing off some time today for her.

Last night sorted some more stuff for Ebay. Listed about 15 items yesterday but when sorting through wardrobe last night with OH, found about 10 tops all Next with tags still on. I only paid £2 each for them but think they would all sell very well-so will get them loaded today.

Anyway, I must go as I need a shower and OH got the stairlift down for me.

    Breakie: Bubble & Squeak
    Lunch: Ham, salad sarnie
Dinner: Shepards Pie, Cauli & Carrots

    Hugs to all.

  • Morning everyone.

Kyle - Sorry to hear your DS is unhappy at the moment. What a shame, poor little soul.

Wet and windy here like everywhere else. When am I going to get this washing dry? :( Wanting to clear the clothes ready for doing all the bedding tomorrow. Once CH goes on won't be a problem but we're still holding out here due to being potless. :( sob....

On a brighter note - have a fair bit of stale-ish bread which is always good news because now I can make a vat of HM bread sauce. I LOVE the stuff! Could eat it by the ladleful. :D And the smell in the house is heavenly. Shall stash it away in the freezer and then just jolly it up with a dash of d cream when I need it. Yum!

Right back to lunch boxes and morning coffee. Better check DS1 hasn't gone back to sleep because suspiciously quiet up there. (Music blearing out by now normally).

    Have a great day all.

    Morning all

Kyle so sorry to hear about your son. Tell him just because he has diabetes it does not make him different. We had a girl with diabetes in our class at school and to be hones no one knew unless she mentioned it. We certainly never thought of her as different to the rest of us.

This morning is going to be spent clearing up the wreckage from hanging the decorations last night, I have boxes and bits of tinsel all over the house. DS finally got to help as he is now tall enough to reach the ceiling by only using 2 steps on the stepladder. The rate he is growing he won't need the stepladder at all by next christmas. He's so big it's hard to believe that he has only just turned 13 but he will always be my little boy.

Tonight I have to dye my hair as we have DH's works do tomorrow night, I popped into the charity shops yesterday and got myself a lovely cream satin overshirt to go with black trousers I already had and a lovely sparkly black belt to go with it. I had been thinking for ages that I needed some new jumpers and the charity shop had loads of lovely ones reduced to £1.99 so I now have another 4 :D

  • Morning everyone :santa2:

(((hugs) to Kyle's DS1 It must be tough for him. It's hard enough for adults to cope but it must be even worse for him. He is a trooper though. Hope he perks up soon.

Another broken night's sleep. When will this wind and rain ever end? I'm sick of getting up to wet, dark, windy, miserable mornings.

Job No 2 today. Boss is out all day though so I can suit myself. :j Might even pop back on here.

Have a great Thursday. (((hugs))) to all that need or want them. X

  • Morning all :D

Not much from me today. Went home last night to find out my father in law had been rushed into hospital and rather than bother us at work he thought it would be better to leave an answerphone message saying "I've been rushed into hospital, can you come over when you have 5mins?"

Thankfully he's OK in himself but we were told not to expect to see him home this side of Christmas

Obviously after that everything went out of the window, so have been up since early starting and finishing all of my Christmas shopping. My motto for the last couple of years is simple "If I can't buy it online, you can't have it!"

Anyway, not sure what today will bring, but as always take or leave the :grouphug: as needed.

  • A quick P.S:

Welcome to all of the newbies - I hope you all jump in and love it here

Melt - I hope everything gets sorted out on the job front for you.

Kyle - Hope your little one starts to feel better about the diabetes - Is there no online forums for kids with it he could join?

Catowen - Glad to hear your OK, funny enough I was only saying to my OH last week that we need to get a carbon monoxide detector fitted. Might tell him about your boiler to see if I can get him to put one up this weekend for us.

    Good morning everyone. :hello:

I have been on work related courses for the last couple of days so I haven't had time to read the board, let alone post or do much at all in the way of Old Style.

Knowing I would be late home last night I left Mr Pink in charge of a pork joint that needed to be roasted before I came home to finish it off and do the potatoes, veg etc. It was quite a large piece of meat so I asked him to pop it in the oven for me in the afternoon. I pointed him in the direction of Delia for timings and mentioned that I'd use the leftovers to make something for dinner tonight.

I am grateful that he was being helpful and he did cook it perfectly, but somehow I think we got our wires crossed. He managed to cut it in two and only roasted one half of it so I’d have some left over for tonight. Now I have a raw lump of pork for tonight and I haven’t a clue what to do with it.

The only other OS thing I've done for a couple of days is; after reading all your posts about it on here, I took the plunge last night and ordered the Tightwad Gazette…….I can't wait for it to arrive. Hopefully it and Thrifty ways should both get here sometime in the next few days, so if you don’t see me online for a while, you’ll know where I am.

Kyle, I'm sorry your son is feeling down at the moment <<hugs for you both>>
Roz_V, good luck with finishing your assignment
tinkerbelluk, I hope your father in law starts to recover soon.

Off to do the school run now....

Have a good day everybody! :)

    Pink
