Then when you both exited the roundabout at 0:13 the lorry was still in front of you... Then at 0:17 you were (I assume) level with the lorry, possibly in his blind spot - as he could have assumed you took the next exit at the roundabout as you were in the right hand lane?
At 0:21 you can see the lorries headlights on the back on the white van, so one would assume you didn't see the lorry as you then made an attempt to get in behind the van...
Absolutely, but another point:
besides that it may not have even seen him, there's another reason I don't agree with Strider's conclusion that the lorry brake lights being on mean that it had been accelerating to prevent him passing,
- the lorry brake lights are also on at 14 seconds, perhaps the driver's reaction to a view of the vehicles ahead
Strider, you never actually completely pass this lorry, so the assertion it overtakes you on the inside is incorrect.
If there had been clear space ahead of you, you might have achieved this manouvre, but given that there were several vehicles visible enough on your way round the roundabout, including the white van, this wasn't a gamble worth taking.0 -

Ok, you were not there.... You cannot make that assumption.
I had passed the truck and I had enough room to move into the gap, I decided not to do that and to continue to the merge point instead of weaving about the road.
Had I done that and posted the video you'd be criticising me for that too.
You will all of course find fault in anything if you look and imagine hard enough, im sure someone somewhere has seen the search lights on a UFO in the top right hand corner of one of my video's. :rotfl:
Fact is, you were not there and ya'll seem to think you were, you then make wild assumptions based on imaginary events you cannot see. As I recall even in the boy racer v van video, I still got accused of something ridiculous.
So you'll excuse me if I take your "constructive criticism" with a huge transport container ship load off salt.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Are you still chomping off?0 -

Was that the one where you threw your toys out when you were overtaken?0 -

I had passed the truck
Could you kindly show us where you passed the lorry...?! Cos I can only see the lorry infront of you during 99% of the clip...0 -

I watched your video.
It may be that your eyes have the same lack of peripheral vision as the camera, but I doubt it. Your freeze-frame comment about 2 or 3 car lengths gap is made before you are even fully alongside the cab, so that gap is not available to you at that moment, and then fairly soon you are slowing down.
As for the last remark, you have yourself made a wild assumption based on something you could not see. The lorry was not accelerating to prevent you passing; instead it was braking several seconds earlier, as per the frame I copied.
Why even attempt this, given the 3 or 4 cars and van that are going to be just around that corner, and it is not a dual carriageway?0 -
Strider590 wrote: »lol, In the above I brake for an obstruction.... I don't do much else, so are you suggesting I should have not braked?
Better yet don't answer that.... The fact as ive found is that some people have this idea that I think im perfect and place video's on Youtube to "show off", but they couldn't be further from the truth.
I think ya'll should just stick to the topic and stop looking for excuses to slag me off.
Finally managed to view the "squirrel" video because YouTube is blocked at work.
Whilst the driver in front perhaps shouldn't have performed an E/S - you exhibited some truely careless driving. Brake lights were showing long long before you started catching up on the car rapidly and then having to E/S yourself.
Braking early and progressively (or at least easing off at first rather than storming on like you did) would've saved a confrontation and the wear on your brakes/suspension. Basic skill and you'd have failed a learner test for driving like that (even without sounding your horn).
Out of interest, have you ever taken any advanced driver training? By the nature of some of your replies compared with some of your videos I'd hazard a guess at no, and you've just read a lot of stuff on the internet, but I might be wrong.0 -
"have you ever taken any advanced driver training"
Judging by the videos NO - the first lesson you learn when undertaking advanced driver training is "A" for "Attitude".
An advanced driver wouldn't use video like this to show how "superior" they are over other motorists - especially when in most cases they are simply showing off their bad driving skills.
The overtaking an HGV immediately after a roundabout, before you can see ahead, being a classic example - crazy driving.0 -

This I think is the problem, people assume im showing off... When in fact it's not in my nature. The overtaking an HGV immediately after a roundabout, before you can see ahead, being a classic example - crazy driving.
You don't know how competitive drivers are on that stretch of road, if you don't get ahead your screwed. Being out on the right you just get all your exits blocked. There's two lanes and no reason not to use them, but of course there are those idiots who love to queue.
You might want to try driving around this area during rush hour to see how bad it really is!“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
