Bicycle accident help

That's what I was thinking regarding offences. I'll chase it up with them tomorrow. Just called GMP switchboard who had a look for me but couldn't find the incident on their computer or whatever because it just went in the Officers' notepads. They advised me to call the appropriate police station tomorrow who will have a note of it.0

He is insured with RSA, who have logged it and told me to call back in the morning. What should I do about the bike? I need it tomorrow really but is it best to leave it in its damaged state? It is still rideable if I bend the mudguard back...0

Take before and after photos of the damage ideally with the front page of a national newspaper in shot.0

Drivers think that cyclists are unimportant and insignificant because they're smaller (see "theory of big").
Hope you manage to screw him over nicely, he deserves it!“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Right. Today I have filed a claim with MoreThan, his insurance company (only after being passed around 3 Indians who didn't seem to understand the concept of a 3rd party claim) who are going to give him a call and get back to me in a couple of days. Phoned the police again this morning who recorded it properly. They then passed the case onto their road accident department, who gave me a call later today. They seem to be taking it very seriously - the woman who called me confirmed that he has committed 3 offences as I thought; failing to give insurance details, failing to report after the accident and dangerous driving. She also confirmed that 'owing to the presence of a motor vehicle on a road' means what I hoped it meant - it doesn't matter than no contact was made. She is sending me out a large form to fill out to report him properly. Meanwhile the officers I spoke to in person don't seem to have made any record of the incident. I was advised to contact their police station, who can't find anything, but she said to call back on Monday and if it hasn't turned up she will 'do some digging.'
My shoulder is now starting to ache.

Well done for pursuing the claim on his insurance - it's the best way, let More Than argue with their punter.
Sadly typical shambolic response from the police.
You will have to keep pressing and pressing them to get anything done.
Many people in your position would lose interest, but good luck if you have the stamina.0 -
For a man of the cloth it seems god is not keeping a watchful eye over you.0
