Already have some certificates from before - does this mean they don't need a sample signature?
Yep, they don't need a signature.
I didn't monitor mine, but 21st is a long time.
Did you get an email receipt with a reference number?0 -
I applied for and got an NS&I savings certificate to the value of 15k I put my wife down as the secondary holder then we decided to take out another one in her name but with me as the secondary holder but were told that this could not be done as once you have created it in joint names then that is it but the NS&I help desk informed us that you could take one out in trust I could take one out for 15k with my wife as beneficiary and she could take one out and have me as beneficiary making a total of 45k in saving certificates0

Yes - I got an email with a reference number.
I phoned them on 6th June .That date, they said my certificate hadn't been sent to me yet - they hadn't reached the 21st May by then.
I phoned them again on 13th June. That date, they said my certificate had been issued on 24 May.KE veteran - life seemed so much simpler then!0 -
These would be so much better if they could be viewed, stored and administered online. So much can go wrong with paper certificates/royal mail. It would also lower costs make things easier all round. NSI need to come into the 21st Century.0

Computers can fail, as can databases, so online storage is no safer than a paper document.Never Knowingly Understood.

Computers have 'back ups'. No back up for your lost paper certificates; easily overlooked in many years time when relatives are trying to track your estate. The postman might also see them as his new pension scheme;)0 -

Of course no one will actually do all of that and we will all make bad decisions - look at me 1997 on the dole 2011 about to retire with golden final salary pension, paid off mortgage - no debts - £300k in a mix described above - fall into the sweet spot as far as SP goes, i.e. 2016 when we all get £155+/week and not into the 2018 zone waiting an extra year - bring it on!
Why do you think you will get £155 state pension if you have a final salary pension, were you not contracted out?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

The Government plans to scrap SERPS/S2P etc in favour of a single flat rate pension that everyone will be entitled to (subject to NI contributions). I think that is what bigfreddiel is referring to.
As far as I am aware people that were contracted out will have a deduction, so you could end up with less than the basic state pension now.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is.
