NS&I certificates

Just to let those of you know who are still awaiting their certificates, I applied using debit card on 31 May, and finally received my certificate this morning.
I did chase it up last week and was told that the certificate should have been received already and to call again if it was not received later on this week as they could print out a new one. However, since its turned up there's clearly a delay with the 'posting' side of things.0 -
I take your point, but it's also worth keeping in mind that those contracted in also will have a deduction of up to £55 per week from their S2P in order to get the full £155, so it's swings and roundabouts really.
If people expect a contracted out final salary pension and £155, most will be in for a long wait, as above.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. I've phoned twice and been given 2 completely different versions.
Already have some certificates from before - does this mean they don't need a sample signature?
The certificate I applied for online on May 21st arrived in the post today. It's taken a month - but I'm relieved to have received it!KE veteran - life seemed so much simpler then!0 -
I bought mine in two tranches totalling £15,000, and both certificates have now arrived.
But I have two different customer numbers. Apparently the system does not relate purchases by the same individual on different dates, so in theory I suppose there would be no limit to the maximum purchase. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. You are meant to relate the purchases yourself by correctly identifying yourseff as an existing customer and putting in your customer number on subsequent purchases.
You could probably fool the system into giving you more than £15K but don't forget you sign a declaration.
I'm not sure of the exactly offence and I hesitate to use the word "fraud" as it might be technically the wrong word, but I'm pretty sure it would be wrong/an offence/illegal.
It might be tax evasion which is a criminal offence that's taken quite seriously.
p.s. I'm not suggesting you did anything deliberately but I am a little suprised you missed the bit that said "Are you an exisiting customer? yes/no".0 -

I did click YES, and I entered the reference number I had received from the first application. It ignored this and gave me a new reference number and new customer number.
Nothing fraudulent at all - the total holding is £15,000. It's just surprising that their system could not, in theory, pick up multiple applications even when the applicant cross-references the numbers for them. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Sounds like a fault in their system.Nothing fraudulent at all
I'm sure there isn't, I was just answering your comment that there could be no maximum, which might be possible to acheive in practice would still be fraudulent/illegal/tax evasions (not sure of precise term but you get the gist). It's just surprising that their system could not, in theory, pick up multiple applications even when the applicant cross-references the numbers for them.
Sounds like a computer bug.
I have 4 certificates all the same customer number, so it's not normal.
I can't see it being an issue except that you will lose any automatic checks on your limits, so you'll have to monitor them yourself which I'm sure you do anyway.0
