Rejecting a Brand New Car - unfit for purpose

I don't understand - I thought you had got your money back from your dealer, and were happy with the outcome? If so, how do Renault UK come into it?
Listen very carefully I will say this only once........ I am happy with the way the DEALER (i.e the garage where I bought it) handled the return but am still in discussion with Renault UK (that would be the M-a-n-u-f-a-c-t-u-r-e-r) about the serious flaws in the design of the car. Got it now?0 -
So instead of moaning can you come up with another way to prove to the other idiot that this is not all fiction? I don't have ANY complaint with the dealership (if you read my posts properly you would see that). My problem is with Renault UK - I am also accumulating a lot of emails from them, as this is a very real problem - something some people seem unable to get to grips with and are more intent on personal attacks!
Wow, what a rant.
I am not "moaning". I couldn't give a fig about you or your car. But posting details of someone without their consent is wrong.0 -

Save me a spot in the public gallery. This will be a good one.
Missed the irony there then? You really do take things literally don't you? And he was not suggesting I was over-reacting - he openly called me a liar and still refuses to accept the truth when it is put in front of him - without names! You are both as bad as each other!0 -

You really do have an attitude problem. This the FIRST TIME (see, I'm using capitals for you, just as you do for me) that you have mentioned Renault UK. Up until now, you've only EVER (again, making it easy for you to understand) mentioned your dealer.
As you have now g-o-t y-o-u-r m-o-n-e-y b-a-c-k, why are you still pursuing this with Renault UK? You told us all that you were happy with the outcome, and now you have to take a condescending attitude when replying to my simple question.
I am pleased you got your money back. I still don't believe (like everyone else on this thread) that the car is unfit for purpose, rather you just didn't like it. I still find it difficult to believe the dealer took the car back so easily, but will take your word that they did. So why not let the Wind be a dim & distant bad experience, and move on to either keeping your Tigra, or buying a different car? Why not just chalk this up to experience? Let it be one of life's lessons, and remember to test drive any cars you may buy BEFORE parting with your cash.0 -
The email came from Renault and when I copied and pasted it the logo disappeared or that would have been there too. Of course had I left the names in at the risk of bringing forth more holier-than-thou do-gooders you could have Googled them to see if they were who they said they were. As far as I am aware the Pope is nothing to do with Renault. And for the umpteenth time the number is NOT a personal contact number - it's the DEALERSHIP and Paul is the MANAGER!!!! Posting his mobile might be against the rules but the dealership is a business so there are no secrets!0

Sounds like this was the reason you got your money back. I don't know where the 28 cooling off period has come from though. Was it a contractual offer made by the dealer?
The 14 day right of withdrawal under the finance agreement, if exercised, would not cancel any associated sales contract though.
TBH although I knew about the finance, I wasn't actually aware of it until after all of this took place - it was mentioned by someone at the Vauxhall Dealership.0 -

If I have attitude it is because I am sick of being called a liar - at least you haven't stooped that low and I can assure you the email from Renault is 100% genuine. Unlike all the scathing doubters on here I don't have time to make things like that up anyway and why would I? And I'm sorry - I thought everyone knew that dealers only SELL cars but manufacturers MAKE them. The dealer did right by me but it goes way beyond that and Renault have produced a car that would seem to have been designed by a french orang-utan - hence the too-low arm rests.
I will repeat myself to you however in that I DID like the car - that's why I bought it - it cost more than I paid for my house for crying out loud!!! But there is no way it could have been driven regularly on long trips with the top down as it was so noisy and unpleasant. So it IS unfit as a convertible for serious top-down drivers - just because you CAN take the roof off doesn't make it one in the true sense.
I was also amazed at how easy it was to return the car and tbh was expecting a fight but didn't get one! The fact that I got straight on the phone to reject it after driving it and didn't wait a few days was crucial though - of course I could have called them from the car with the fancy bluetooth thingy had I been able to hear anything at all in the car!
The reason for pursuing this with Renault is to get them to admit the car has problems and stop others who may be less able to stand up for their rights getting stuck with one. Isn't that partly what this whole website is supposed to be about after all? Or is it just for disbelievers to get into slanging matches and name calling because they can't accept the evidence in front of them?0 -
How can you like a car enough on looks (I presume) to pay 17k for it without test driving it!....ARE YOU MAD!0

Not by me, so it'd be better if you save your attitude for them. And I'm sorry - I thought everyone knew that dealers only SELL cars but manufacturers MAKE them.
And you're still missing my point - we do know the difference between dealers and manufacturers, but you hadn't mentioned Renault UK until post 67. I simply asked why they were involved after you had got your money back, and even now you're still being condescending by pointing out this difference.I will repeat myself to you however in that I DID like the car - that's why I bought it0 -
But you have now seen the email from Renault!! What will it take to get through your thick skull?? The proof is there and yet you still call me a liar and think you know better?
Well in that case, if you don't believe the irrefutable proof, there is no point in even discussing this further. It takes a big man to admit they are wrong and apologise and obviously you're not up to it.
You really do need to calm down. You haven't provided any proof at all, all you have done is post something on the internet. We are not as green as we look. Your extremely rude and confrontational posts are testament to you over compensating for your over-active imagination. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0
