On spot fines for bad driving

Looks like drivers could get on spot fines for bad driving eg tail gating, undertake and cut others up,

    Yup. And more arguments from the drivers who undertake with due care because of the real idiot in the middle lane...

    A good idea but will it really work, how many times have you had someone cut you up on the road but you never see a police car. And if they're going to try and cut down on things like inconsiderate parking that causes problems, are they going to include the copper that parks on yellow lines or in a bus stop while he goes to the chippy.

    i cant see it working as the police cant be everywhere,

    One of the reasons is that currently if someone does get nicked for driving without due care the police officer will have to go away and fill-in a bunch of paperwork.

    I've heard that in some countries 1 point fixed penalties for minor traffic offences are handed out like sweeties.

    Apparently we’ve all got much better at driving, there were 125,000 convictions for bad driving in 1985 which had fallen dramatically to 29,000 by 2006.

    So if you are driving a Volvo it's ok, just not LGV? :o
