  • Hey money makers.

    Kaya £2 is a bargain, 7 hours I don't envy you.

Well the universe is still smiling at me I've stolen listerbelles phrase lol, I've been working a lot recently and by the end of next week I should have made £900 out of the 1k I wanted to take on holiday which has suprised me because I didn't think I'd have it until May, but there has been lots of premiums for work at the moment the deadline is 2nd March as we are still in the pilot stage, so things have been going wrong hence the premium money, it will start up again in April so March will be a quiet month work wise, I've actually upped my target now to £1200, also decided to make 2 weeks wages as I do get paid holiday pay but it comes in every pay packet . I don't get to actually have a paid day off if you see what I mean.

Business wise, I got sent the missing part for my machine and now it works great, I'm so obsessed I use it everyday. I am working on my samples but with work being manic I think I will get the bulk of it finished in march. I have also made quite a bit of money on my side job which funds my business , the money won't be paid until March, so that will be to pay for a make up artist when I shoot my garments , so I don’t have to worry now, I also need a garment steamer and clothing rail but those can wait until March not pressing. I've just ordered my tailors dummy which I really needed that should be here by the end of the week. I feel so good knowing I have done this all.

Also I signed up to the business program my local council have and they are having a women's enterprise day on 2nd March, so I've got a ticket. They will be having guest speakers, all women who have successful businesses and have celebrities or been featured in the media a lot so I'm looking forward to that also you can book a 30 min slot to speak with them and get advice which I might do.

Been looking at business books, steamers and clothing rails searching for a bargain lol.

Morning guys how is everyone? I went to see the doctor about my "chest pain" I have been having and the conversation literally went like this.

    "So what's the problem?"
"Well I've been having on and off heart pain for a while"
    "OH who told you that?!"
    "Well...I've been feeling it?"
    "No it's not heart pain."

....Now I know it's annoying that patients try to self diagnose and I should of said the word "chest" pain but he didn't want to listen to anything I had to say and insisted it was indigestion without even asking anything about me! I mean for god sake on at least 3 occasions I've been stood there and my heart has started pounding away for no reason in my chest and then I've been constantly getting niggling pains in that area...which he doesn't know because he wouldn't listen. I honestly would of complained but he did book me in for an ECG "although it's not heart pain we'll do one anyway" which is today...so I figured I'd go to this and see the outcome - sort of hard to complain he didn't take me seriously even though he booked me into a heart related test lol...

Not much to update other then I have burnt myself out, wedding on Sat couple shoot on the Sunday and little one has been ill with breathing (was really worried about that with the wedding but we all pulled together) but now I'm behind on my eBay to along with having the wedding to edit, couple shot, house to clean and a doctors appt...so today is going to be really fun.

Not got any further with anything else as I have been so busy :( fingers crossed I can push forward get this all done asap as I have another wedding on 12th March!

    Just a quickie, Kaya.

I didn't want to read and run.

Just want to wish you well. For what it s worth I think your doctor is right it is unlikely to be a heart attack. Nhowever, he's doing the right thing by getting you checked out.

Hope all goes well. Try not to worry too much, you will be in good hands.

And yes some GPs don't like it when their patients are knowledgeable, it makes them feel threatened. :rotfl:

It may be indigestion, it may be "just stress", it may be stress induced indigestion .............all of these can mimic heart attack symptoms.

I have highlighted the just stress bit because stress is not to be taken lightly, the effects on the body can be very serious if left untreated so you did the right thing.

Like you I have had several extreme "stress episodes" ending up in hospital with a suspected coronary. The only way to tell the difference is with an ECG and blood tests. In my case they were not real heart attacks but when you are going through an episode it does actually feel like the real thing. It can be scary.

Having gone through this myself my advice is take this as a warning........make the necessary lifestyle adjustments. Even if it is "just stress" and not heart disease you do need to start taking better care of yourself.

It would do no harm to get your cholestrol and blood sugar levels checked. Your GP should offer these tests now, if not gently insist.

Hopefully you just caught him on an off day. He sounds like he is doing the right thing by you. If you are unhappy with him then just switch doctors but give him another chance, at least until you've got the results back.

You say you are starting to feel burnt out. This is your wake up call. Start listening to your body and make the necessary lifestyle changes.

Please let us know how you get on today. Please know that we are all thinking about you and rooting for you.

Try not to,feel too scared, come on here and share your worries. Please feel free to PM me if you want to "talk".

    Have a dodgy hug. :grouphug:

From me too, Kaya - your body's telling you the truth, that doctor has refused to listen, but *you* can. Many dodgy hugs, along with LL, it sounds really unpleasant.

Reminds me of my Norfolk rellie - he got into computers at the age of 16, travelled the world with it, including Silicon Valley (his daughters have dual nationality because of that!) but the stress nearly got him - even though he was an expert in biofeedback, he had a heart attack at 39 ... he survived it, and *did* change his ways. Supported himself as a postie for a while, and now he's retired and works as a professional artist. Your work is artistic, but you've got *so* much going on, it's no wonder you're stressed.

I'm feeling a *little* bit stressed myself at the mo, though nothing like you - just arrangements. In keeping to myself, I've avoided all the to-ing and fro-ing, but with the big family events this spring, some of it is unavoidable, but I'm trying to distance myself from the stress of it. Can't control everything.

Perhaps I'm in denial as my doctor did ask me about stress (for the record there are 4-5 doctors there so I won't be seeing the same one as I'll make sure of it sorry!) but I really really don't feel stressed. I appreciate I have a lot on but the only thing I'm worried/stressed about is my sons. (Cause little one was ill and the child doctor is booked for my eldest for mid March) - Appreciate I've over done it this weekend though with working so much but I'll never book something the day after a wedding before that's for sure as I know how tiring it is.

The photography is going well - the eBay/house can wait along with the editing - yes my to do list is as long as my arm but I'm pretty chilled about it overall.

I won't find out about ECG now till I go to the doc's and I have a blood test to take then I have to wait a week for the results to get back - but if anyone is going to have a self inflicted heart attack I've basically piled salt on every meal since I was a kid. I think on a daily basis we eat healthy (minus the overload of salt) but obvouisly we do have a lot of takeaways.

Honestly I'm that concerned I haven't touched salt all this week - and I gave it up for near 2 weeks before this and it seemed to have gone away but last weekend (not the one just gone) I went out drinking Friday, had a subway Sat morning had KFC sat evening and we went out to carvery Sunday evening which I had salt on both . Now to add this is NOT a normal weekend but coupled with the hangover we were being lazy on the cooking front but my "chest" pain came on in full force Sunday night and was causing havoc Monday - on the way to the doctors actually driving there I got this weird tightness feeling in my chest for several min I nearly pulled over - Granted to set the record straight it's not rolling on the floor pain but when it's your heart you are going to be concerned.

But since about Wed I have been fine again and haven't touched salt...it honestly does seem to be linked..of course the doctor knows none of this as he decided it was indigestion and that the pain comes after eating (I said it was random times of day, he said it comes straight after eating)

I really appreciate your concern I'll keep you updated and I promise no more salt for me unless of course it's already in the food and I have turned my eBay off until Wed just so I can play catch up - honestly I'd love to pack it in I'm debating whether to try shutting it down Monday-Thursday and only opening for the weekend or putting my prices up again... something to think about. Roll on next year when the money from the weddings won't be used to buy camera gear!

  • Just another quickie I have to,go out in a minute...helping my dad pack for the move tomorrow.

    Talk about stress overload. :rotfl:

I know we are not supposed to give medical advice so let's call this "lifestyle choices" :D

If you want a little bit of salt then Switch to "Lo Salt" - ie low sodium.

Next time you experience chest pains - take 1 dispersable asprin - just in case it is a heart attack. It can literally save lives. If it's not a heart attack then nothing is lost.

Don't take asprin as a preventative measure on a regular basis unless your doctor advises it because it can lead to stomach bleeds in someone who is susceptible but it's ok in an emergency.

If your ECG had shown anything of concern they would have dealt with it there and then. The fact that they are passing the results on to your GP is a good sign.

Sorry to hear your little one is poorly - hope he picks up soon.

Kayalana I am so sorry you have been feeling unwell, and that you didn't have a pleasant encounter with the GP. This shouldn't have happened and I understand your frustration. Once you have the results, perhaps you could book in with that doctor to discuss how you were not listened to...

This will sound like I am making excuses, and I promise I am not. Many people are unaware of the way in which the NHS is breaking and broken. As a former NHS doctor, I still have many, many friends within the NHS and follow the situation. I also frequent a "doctors only" website that has a great discussion forum.

GP practices all over England are shutting down. GP practices cannot fill vacancies, vacancies that have been caused by partners or salaried doctors retiring, immigrating or simply resigning.

The closures put incredible pressures on the practices remaining open, and in several places once the first practices closed then the next two have as well already.

The government wants to privatise all of the NHS.

Best wishes and get well soon

  • Kaya Sorry to hear about your problems, I had something similar where I was getting chest pains and literally couldn't breathe for a few seconds, it was really random, I went to the doctor who did a blood test and discovered It was acid reflux, when she told me I burst into tears because I had convinced myself I was having a heart attack, The doctor was so confused lol, I laugh about it now, but It wasn't funny then, especially when she told me I was too young to be having a heart attack, which isn't true.

    Hope It is just stress.
