Hope the house goes through smoothly.

    I am indeed :D

We're another step closer, the solicitor sent a draft offer through to me to read over this afternoon. As it's a croft tenancy, it's a bit more complicated than a normal house sale, so it could take a while to get the nitty-gritty details hammered out (for example, the croft hasn't been registered and there's a nine month period after first registration when the croft's boundaries can be challenged, so our solicitor has put in a clause saying that the seller must register the croft and we will not complete until the challenge period is up, which the other side will want removed), but hopefully it will all go through in the end!

Well things are going up! Got another booking for April (well she has 100% yes but meeting her on 6th of Sept for dep, don't like to count things until the contracts have been sorted)

I've done the basic editing of my photos from Friday's wedding and I must say I think I was being a bit hard on myself, the big group photo is by far from perfect but it's full of happy people having a good time (even if some of the back ones can't be seen) not just a plain on of everyone standing their BUT to be fair, given it was my first big group photo it could of gone worse. The small group ones are very plain but they are in focus and just nice photos which is what they would of wanted, but for my first time doing group shots officially I think overall it went really well, I took control got everyone where I wanted them etc.

I missed fired one shot, which was them and the children signing the registrar (a posed one) I just very stupidly didn't have the right settings in place but they do have quite a few pictures of all 5 of them so hopefully they will accept it's one of those things.

I said to my OH of my first wedding I would be happy to show 8-10 photos as my best, from this wedding I would proudly show at least 95% of them, my April Bride took one look at my Friday wedding (well about 10 photos) and agreed to go ahead.

I'm honestly just over the moon that they allowed me to photograph there day, I have so many perfect photos because their is just so much emotion from them and the family and the children...I've got the candid photos down I'm very good at capturing the little details, the little smiles etc....but I really really need to work on my posing and being creative with that. It was quite strange people kept looking to me for advice and asking me when they could throw confetti on the B&G!!

I absolutely love my job...I guess I better start making things official on paper....

Kaya, that's fantastic! Congratulations - and the per hour income will undoubtedly be way up on your other venture, when you're charging full rates. Good for you :)

    Fantastic news Kay.

    This time next year.........;)

Well a week of two halves. Today we scattered mums ashes on the land my sister and I own - and of course dads house sale is now complete so ....the end of an era. I miss mum but I have lots of happy memories, I only have to look in the mirror and I see her looking back at me.

Ive had some fun, a shopping trip to IKEA and a couple of shopping trips around the chazzas for clothes for my holiday. I have bought some absolutely gorgeous things and all for peanuts. I love charity shops.....

I have been a bit spendy this month.....and other than savings interest and my premium bond win I havent actually made any real additional money this month. Never mind, the sky won't fall in if I have a break.

The next couple of weeks will see us embark on a decorating marathon. DS2 off work so one last final push to get the house finished. Then we will get it valued and we will get to find out if its all been worth while.

Some lads have bought the house next door and they have set to work. I noticed that there are about 4 other houses in the street also being done up. You can't move for skips and builders vans. :rotfl:

There's a lot of gentrification going on so hopefully we have picked a goer. It's a lovely house, it has good bones and it has scrubbed up well. Unfortunately we have gone over budget and made a few mistakes. But hey, it's all a learning curve so im sure the next one will be easier.

We do need to get quicker though, ideally we need to be doing one a year. I am not getting any younger.......:rotfl:

    Great news, Kaya :D

I've heard back from my solicitor to say my offer is accepted in principle and the other solicitor is drafting up a formal acceptance! So, subject to a bit of haggling about which clauses do or don't stay in the contract of sale, I've bought this to do up and just under 10 acres :D

Hi, it's taken me a while to read some of this thread and I've been a bit of a lurker for a while but I'd love to take part in this challenge! Any advice on where to start? I'm trying to save to buy my own home, I work full time, I have awful spending habits and I drive - what's best to tackle first? Sorry to be the token irritating newbie, haha!
