No you are not crazy. You do Push yourself hard, but then that's how we get results.

I didn't feel too well this morning and it must have showed. My builder gave me a little lecture about stress......he meant well.:rotfl:

Actually it was my own fault, not enough sleep and too much wheat.....needless to say ive behaved myself today and am back on the healthy eating and have paced myself instead of rushing around as usual.

I'm going to cook a nice healthy dinner and potter in the garden for an hour and then chill out with a nice film and a glass of something.....

Kaya, I like the sound of that, I do! Plus, the one writing sideline that's made money for me at present is the kindle book I published - its absolutely not made me a decent rate of return for the time I spent on it, but it has made actual dosh :D

I used to do a sidepot thing, but I don't any more - I might bring it back in respect of matched betting, as the new football season's about to start.

LL - norty you! Glad you're okay - lack of sleep can do weird things, it seriously can, I'm feeling it myself today.

I'm focussing on the blogs this week, but from next week I'm also going to use some online time to list on ebay, even facebook - facebook means I'd get a lot of bulky stuff out of the house, that would really help.

Caravan Lettings (I've been told this isn't worth it but plan to look into it anyway as we could consider doing this next year if it was.)

A friend of a friend started doing this, I think with two static caravans in North Wales. Main issue is that most sites insist on caravans being replaced with new ones once they get to a certain age, which can make a dent in whatever rental you've earned up to that point. In this case it worked out reasonably well as they learned that most of the caravans on site were owned for the same purpose, and somehow no-one local was prepared to do the key handover and cleaning before each new visitor, so they moved locally and started a business doing that for the other owners.

New little money pot today is having an honesty box outside my house with the excess veg from my fellas mums allotment.... ive said I will put the money back into supplies for the allotment as my food bills have decreased and will decrease more year on year once she is established. Her last allotment she was over run with food and couldn't give it away due to strict rules...honesty boxes outside houses aren't regulated and of course I would only put good produce in there. Also almost ready to get new chickens so have a little sign ready to sell eggs too.

Another little nugget is my fella has paid the aoutstanding balance for the kitchen that was fitted in my rental so that's another £600 I can redirect.

He managed to refinance a loan he has that somehow has left lower payments over less time with a little excess??!! Think he was on a really poor deal due to previous credit history but he has worked hard to straighten it out.

Not to be confused with my ex husband who will forever be bad credit and in debt

I still get almost daily quips off him about me being able to afford a new car, nice house, solicitor AND have foreign holidays! ha if only he knew the truth of how close I came to the brink

    Hi Tink

Having gone close to the brink myself I can say doesn't it feel good to know that you survived it all and bounced back.

Your new fella sounds a real gem.....;)

As for your ex, well don't let him rattle you, you've come a long way baby.....maybe one day he'll get his LBM and turn his life round, maybe not. But at least you won't be responsible for his debts. You can continue to rebuild your life and start your empire.

Not much news money wise. We have been busy decorating, kitchen done, lounge nearly finished. Garden coming along Nicely.

    Slow but steady.......

This is a great thread and you arent the only one that would like to retire age 40-50

A million £ is not what it used to be and in assets I reckon is definitely an achievable target.

To have a million saved in the bank by 50 could be tough unless you really drop on a clever idea or work yourself to death for the next 30 years.

I am currently 27, married, homeowner, working both employed and running a small business. Its great to see your bank balance rise, its almost like a game which makes working more enjoyable.

I will be more than happy with 250k savings + a nice home by the time im 50.

I suppose there are a few rules to follow:

-Dont waste money for the sake of it, its easy to go blowing it all when your having a good period.

    - Save everywhere you can. My wife laughs at me when we go shopping, i wont buy anything that i consider to be overpriced, even if its a matter of pence. Friends call me tight :-D, il re-use a postage stamp if it hasnt been franked.

    - Learn as much as you can in life. The more you know about the world the more money you will save; do your own diy, your own accounting, repair your own cars. One things for sure, you will never be bored.

    Very well said!

Keep your passion alive. Find things you love to do and align them with your goal. Stay focused. It's definitely not impossible, but drive, determination and working smart not hard are key essentials. Learn, learn and learn! Continually re-evaluate yourself, take each experience as a lesson and grow from it.

We have had an interesting few weeks.

I am not going to say terrible (although it has been on paper), as I have said before I have a annoying habbit of seeing positives and making the most of situations.

I am not going to go into the ins and outs, but issues at business- we do not know if the set up was personal or business related, but there has been a massive set up- the type no joke you would expect to see in a movie...

To the person/people who are responsible I would say
Fcuk you but more importantly thank you!

The Fcuk you bit as if its business related, make your own more of a success dont try to knock down others who have worked their !!!!!! off to succeed.
If its personal it can only be through some sort of jealously ( I am not blowing our trumpets, but we are really genuinely good people who do all we can for others even if putting us second).
If you put the energy you did into this into doing something positive you would go far.

    The thank you is because
Family and friends have rallied round, you really do see the good in people when things go wrong, we have never really had to lean on others as we have always been the ones helping others.

People put themselves at detriment and their own businesses so we could continue- as one friends said if it means I shut my business I will while we sort yours as the !!!!!! who has done this will want to see they are effecting you- your business being closed will make them think they have, your business will be open and trading as usual!

There are many other positives that have come out, but at the moment keeping things close to my chest. Bit of a paranoid mini at the moment.

Finally in the words of a very intelligent person (me old ma)-
Who ever did it made a mistake, their mistake was they wanted to for whatever reason destroy X (my husband), this shows they dont know him well- all they will do is succeed in making him fight harder, be stronger and he will achieve more in the long term :T

I was not going to post about this, but felt it was an important part of our personal journey.
People reading this thread may look at situations people are in now, and not know what they have overcome to get where they are, or indeed what may be around the corner.

We have had more than our fair share unfortunately, however every knock we look at, learn lessons and make changes.

Oh and thank you again to the person, as if I ever decide to write a success/motivation book. I now have the book title :rotfl:

    Minxy,

totally get you and am just coming out the other end of my personal and professional life being blown to pieces.

Even to the point I phoned my ex mother in law last night to set her straight on a few things her son has obviously sugared up for her. She tried to say I have a better support network than him (yet 6 months ago she said he had an amazing support network)
She then said he has no money which means he cant afford a nice car/house/holiday/solicitor like I can (his van is younger than mine, hes been on holiday, she paid for his solicitor until the solicitor told him he was in the wrong - twice and his house is cheaper than mine.
I have all those things by working my butt off
The best bit was he works so cant have our daughter for more than a day or 2 (Because im a lady of leisure eh?!)

haha anyway this is a culmination of a year and a half of hassle from him and his family

Last August my world completely bottomed out when he took our daughter and was saying I wouldn't see her again, he then phoned everyone he could to try and ruin me (i.e. mortgage companies, council etc) and as a result my business collapsed, I managed to continue working alone but then I had ex employees doing the same, HMRC investigated me, I got taken to court, 2 of them are still writing stuff on Facebook but in a 'you know who you are' that is very obviously me....

Mean while I have kept my mouth shut, my head down and closed ranks so no one knows my business which has wound people up more...that's why the ex MiL now phones, to try and glean info which Im not prepared to share

Im now around 6 months from being debt free with 2 holidays booked that I will pay bit by bit

Great to hear you have got some great friends around you, its amazing how quickly a large group of friends turns to a small one when youre in need!

Hope you get through it with a smile on your face :-)

Don't think they'd allow 'Fcuk you but more importantly thank you' as a book title .

Sounds very stressful but I'm sure your positive attitude has helped both you and hubby. Hope all goes well now :).
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
