  • Hi Karmacat,
I use Tumblr, Facbook and Twitter for my publicity. There's also some cool websites that'll do free publicity, I can always PM them over to you if you would like. I am currently sorting out my own website and blog because it'll be useless when I've published more than one book :)

Yes please! And pm me your website/blog, if thats okay - always love to take a look at what people are writing!

Spent a happy afternoon sourcing copyright free photos of cats in Ancient Egypt (well, until I actually had to work, you know how it goes).

I messaged that laptop seller and said 'Look lets make this easier on ourselfs you accept the return now instead of waiting for paypal to refund and we'll both be fair...blah blah'

As I wanted the money back asap so I could actually get a laptop that works and he replies 'Ok but I tested it and went on internet just fine and mouse was working'

So I gave him the benefit of the doubt and went back on to see if I could get on the internet...low and behold I am now 100% sure the software isn't installed and on clicking the internet explorer icon it came up 'First time set up' so no he hasn't been on it...

Why are people like this? I feel like not sending the charger with the laptop so I can recoup some of my return postage fees I probally won't but why should I be out £10-£20 because of his error.

Hows everyone going? I was doing really well but I've lost motivation atm lol.

Product 1 still 114/150 but 24 new ones to list so that should be done easy.

Product 2 37/100 ..think this one was to high an aim really as it takes alot longer to design then product 1 but still double from Monday so far :-)

Think I've wasted to much time on this fourm this morning -.- Going to start photographing the ones on my desk...

Consider yourself kicked up the derriere….

C'mon now, chop, chop - get cracking.;)

    Will that do for "motivation":rotfl::rotfl:

    Well I've been busy……

Money sort out, decluttering, experimenting with lo-carb baking (my wheat intolerance is getting worse and I also need to lose weight so basically just looking at reducing carbs - especially wheat).

I've also started doing more exercise, plus more walking and today I started my pilates classes (hoping to strengthen my back and improve flexibility). My 62 year old body feels more like 82 so we can't have that.

I mentioned that I was reading Arnold Schwarzeneggar's autobiography "Total Recall". He does go on a bit at times - going into rather too much detail about "deltoids and laterals, squats and power lifts" so I just skip those bits but he is very motivational.

I'm also reading "Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway", plus a book called "The Happiness Advantage".

Kayalana - rather than spending too much time on T'interweb why not read a few personal development books or biographies of people you admire or whose success you would like to emulate.

Well now - having made a decision that I may as well buy our 3rd property now rather than later, I have now booked a viewing for a fab little cottage tomorrow morning.

Please, please, please, wish me luck and send me lots of positive vibes. I really want this one. It's in the perfect location - I can (just) about afford it. Only problem is that there is lot of interest in it. Houses like this in this particular area are as rare as hen's teeth…..I have a fight on my hands.

I am going to have to act fast and smart because it's at the top end of my budget and I cannot afford to get into a bidding war.

I've rang my broker yesterday to sort out a good deal for me, so hopefully I can act fast.

    Finger's crossed……

Tink - where are you - hope all is well.

Not a bad shout really getting a book I guess I do have some that I havn't read or finished in fact lol, I have loads to do with my business but I find myself not starting or wandering onto the fourms perhaps a motivational book to wander to would get me wandering back to work...

Having a right lazy day today don't know whats up with me. Just having one of those need to go back to bed days.

Good luck sounds like you'll need it! :-)

Positive vibes aplenty, LL! I hope it really works out for you, getting the little cottage - get those lads of yours going :)

Kayalana, I certainly used to get into a groove of rechecking my email, or the forum, rather than shutting down and getting on with stuff - all I can say is to notice that you're doing it, and stop. In addition, I realised that if there was a difficult email I had to write, I'd start to play computer games instead. And instead of doing something physical, I'd be on one forum or another, it was awful, not only a waste of time, but hurting my fingers.

I ended up asking myself some serious questions - do I want to look back at the day and think I did something towards my goal, or do I want to have wasted another hour with games?

Mind you, I only have myself to look after - you have two tiny kids to nurture!

Trying to think what I've done:
    - working up cat website pages, and photos for lots of things. Everything takes *so* long, its astonishing.
    - couple of days ago, I wanted a break so I re-arranged crafting supplies for when I'm ready to start designing images for cards I can sell on there. And I started experimenting with a kids colouring book I bought. I have a cousin in her 40s who has Down's Syndrome, but she's very capable (has had a job for years, and a proper social life) and one thing she loves is colouring in books - her mum orders them from the USA for her, they're meant for adults, not kids. So I had a play at doing an adult one, based on a child's one! I just did the ears, and I loved it. Gives me good feelings about the future.
    - got the new camera working, bought the correct sd card (young woman in the shop thought I was a stupid old duffer, so she checked what I needed on the web - turns out I was right :) ).
    - am off to a local stately home tomorrow to experiment with the camera, no cats, but I might be lucky!
    - paid the latest service fee on the French apartment - and the interest rate for the mortgage payments for the next 3 months remains at 1.5% p.a., which is great. I'm paying off just over E600 per month, 60% paid off now.
    - after LL mentioned matched betting, I noticed somebody on tv (on Homes Under The Hammer, actually!) saying he earned about £500 a week from laying bets against football favourites. So I've sorted out a group of teams, 11 of them, who are at the top of their leagues - England, Scotland and Spain, I used to bet on Spanish teams a lot, so I feel like I know them (though that is *completely* untrue!) and I've made a note of the lay odds offered for their games over the next 4 days. Must remember to fill in the results - no point doing it otherwise. It literally takes about 15 minutes, so if it works, it'll be great - I'll need to keep the profit and loss analysis going till the end of the season, so then I'll see whether its worth doing with real money next year.

Also worried about Tink - when I started reading this thread, she was a regular, and she *started* it too, didn't she... positive vibes over to Tink, as well.

Hi Everyone - thought I'd let you know about the cottage. Bit disappointing. The cottage itself was as pretty as a picture although suffering from years of neglect. However, the main issue was a rather complicated system of shared access and dodgy ill defined boundaries and some problems with land registry.

I've always shied away from properties with any kind of shared access so, despite it being gorgeous, I'm walking away. Shame but I'm sure there will be others.

The trades will be back working on DS1's house next week and so I shall be "on site" quite a bit next week - in between attending various hospital appts for both OH and my dad.

DS2 has made a start on stripping out the flipper and moves in tomorrow. We've been designing layouts etc so next week will see me getting the trades in for quotes. Whilst I'm there I shall be spending many a happy hour stripping old wallpaper.

DS1 has also kindly dropped off an old arm chair for me to practice my upholstery skills :rotfl: so am also hoping to start on that next week. Plus I also intend to restart the matched betting.

    Busy times…..
  • Hello fellow millionaires to be,

I am a bit gutted. MASSIVE wake up call in the shape of having to use my house savings for buying a new car.

Am still in debt, am behind in all aspects of my plan, feel as though I have left it all too late and am feeling like it is all a bit daunting and scary.

just needed to say that aloud.

now going off to swear and rock in the corner for a bit and then attempt to formulate a plan.
    Nevertheless she persisted.
