Millionaires in waiting, I like that :)

I got back yesterday, pretty much ready to start things up in the New Year (except the wall of my house that faces most of the weather has sprouted some damp :( ) and since its very quiet for me at Christmas, I was making notes for the cats and the novel - got a stage further with the plotting, which was great, and realised how I can use existing research I did for my own benefit to create cheap kindle books as well, stuff I can write in a couple of sittings, because its well known and second nature. It was handy having my kindle on long train journeys, and having free downloads to read through about how to write kindle books, there's some good information out there. I'm thinking of, write the first couple, outline the rest, give the first one away free, charge the classic 77p for the rest, building up to a novel release in autumn next year - though maybe I'll be able to get a real life publisher interested, and they'll throw thousands of pounds at it, and I'll have a film option even before its published. That'll work too :D

Wow USA1 - Thank you for that. I've never seen that site before. How fab !!! I can see me spending many a happy hour on there.

Hope you all enjoy your New Year's Eve festivities, I shall be spending mine quietly with OH in the nursing home, although having just got back from trailing round ASDA I think I shall need a nap first.

    See you all next year……

Hope you are all ready to forge ahead and take those next steps towards that first £1m:rotfl:

Does anyone else get ridiculously excited at this point? I feel a bit sick due to a poor lunch choice (Bacon crisps and chocolate log) but am SO looking forward to the new year.

I feel it will be full of opportunities.

    Happy New Year everyone :)

I'm just about to quiet down in preparation for getting ready to go out, so that website is great for me to just have a little look at.

LL, I hope you and your OH have a good evening together, I know that every occasion like this must be special, I hope it goes well for you both.

    Loving the first million :T:T:T

Aww, Buffy! I'm full of poor lunch choices (I didn't want any chocolate in the house tomorrow, and my mum gave me some very rich ones :D) I'm more determined than anything else - absolutely, totally determined that as I enter my birthday-with-a-zero-at-the-end year, the next decade will be much more abundant, and much more fun, than the one thats just passed. I've ordered my new camera, the one that can do macros, and I'm going to be having fun with it to upgrade the website photos.

Hope everyone has a good evening, the evening they want to have. See you next year.

    Happy New Year

    Are we ready to rrrrrumble.

Is that a euphemism for something rude - I'm never sure:rotfl:

    Anyway

    Stage 3 - The Rebuild

Now that the debts are cleared and the foundations for my fledgling property career have been laid it is time to move up a gear.

Unfortunately there are going to be a lot of extra demands on my time, helping my parents as well as overseeing OH's care needs. I have to sort through my parents possessions (I'm dreading it) and put their house on the market and help dad move.

I really could do with employing an assistant but just can't justify the expense yet. I'll just have to make more money……

So until then, I have to "find" more time. My watchwords this year are going to have to be Effective Time Management and Delegation.

Last year was a pretty hard slog so this year I also need to find a bit of "me" time to address a couple of minor health niggles and to improve my fitness. I also want to have some f-u-n.

So this month is "Jettison the Junk January". Time to get organised.

No Junk TV - the biggest time waster ever
No Junk Internet Surfing - ditto
No Junk Food - I'm good usually but there's room for improvement
No Junk People - they drag you down
No Junk or clutter - Charity shops and tip here we come
No Junk bank accounts - Find the best accounts
No Junk purchases - spend money wisely

This year I need to fill up the coffers again. So, in addition to making a nice healthy profit on the flipper, I want to make/save an additional minimum of £10K.

Just need to make some more time.

    I'm 63 this year - need to get a wiggle on. ;)

I like your thinking, LL! I've realised I'm a bit stuck right at this very moment - I keep starting to write a blog post, or a website post, and don't start - its turning into a junk time! So I'm stopping, and I'll go eat something nutritious. Jettison the junk, indeed!

2014 will be my year for debt-busting and empire-building. Here`s my plan:

My plan this year will be to buy another BTL and make major overpayments on the mortgages, in case there is a interest rate rise.

I will read other sections on MSE, just to make sure I am not missing any money making or saving ideas.

I was reading somewhere that 80% of wealth is held in property and pensions, I will pay as much as I can into my pension.

I will continue with frugal living, walking where I can instead of using the car, coupon-clipping, bulk buying. I believe that money making and money saving go hand-in-hand.

I am planning on spending a few hours a day on surveys, focus groups, selling on eBay, comping etc..

I agree with that. There's no point in wasting money, better to save and reinvest. I think quite a few wealthy people do actually live quite simple lives.

I've decided to join the £2014 in 2014 thread - it will help me keep track of the dribs and drabs.

Many a mickle maks a muckle and all that...:rotfl:

Good luck with your empire building .. sounds like a good plan for this year.

All credit to you & your projects for `14. How will manage with all your other commitments? I think an assistant would be a great idea, or some other kindred spirit to help you along?
