    hello all,

been MIA for lots of reasons, but wanted to msake an effort to post and catch up with all of you.

    LL
    - best of luck with this new treatment and drugs, i have all my fingers and toes crossed for you. Also on the diamond search, there will be one out there for you, I can feel it in my bones. Summer is on its way and this is the time most people move homes.

raykay - congrats on babykay! glad to hear you are getting on well and all happy and healthy.

on my own news, we still have not secured the church for the wedding, the saving for wedding took a massive dip in april as i went on a bit of a reckless spending spree, but i take this as a lesson to myself. however as you can see from my totals, all going pretty well.

I found our dream home for 800k. So I set us a target, to be able to buy it in 5 years.he agreed... hahahha! I knew I would find a way for him to join this challenge in secret! anyway apart from winning the lottery or a great stroke of luck we shall not be able too, but it is good to have a goal with your partner to aim for, that is physical not just figures in the bank as it wer. This property is our goal of family life in the area we want to be in. (not an amazing house, we just live in a very expensive area). It is wonderful to be able to share a dream and have a conversation about being able to make it happen.

so far we have plans to
finally furnish and make where we currently live - a home circa £10k
to save for legal fees £10k

also in other news, i have got promoted whoop and got a very small pay rise, but something is better than nothing. in this current market, i feel lucky.
IF YOU THINK YOU ARE SO CLEVER, THEN WHY ARE'NT YOU RICH?
    Debt = [STRIKE]21,003.22[/STRIKE] 0! :j/Car [STRIKE]4500[/STRIKE] 2875
    Savings 12k in 2013: NUMBER 093 = 1100.31/4000
    Wedding fund 1045/3500 LOL!

    Hi all

Just realised i haven't posted on here in ages (since end of Feb!) - glad to hear everyone is working away at their goals....

Here are my March & April updates....

March net worth decreased by £1051.32 (due to a car repair!)
April net worth increased by £121.02

At the end of April my net worth is -£9.5k which is £2k worse than when i started this challenge on 1 April 2012.

May is looking like a small increase so going in the right direction......:rotfl:

    POAMAYC in 2013 #1 : £54.53/£10159.90
    1% challenge - 7% paid off.
DFD @ 31.07.13 is April 2017 (45 months to go!)

    Good morning all.

Rockchic - I agree that your course is an investment.

Nothing wrong with making the most of borrowing money especially at 0%. Think of it as investing "Other People's Money". All the best business guru's advocate doing exactly this.

Just remember to pop a note in your diary so that you don't forget when the interest free period runs out. :rotfl:

I currently have some money on interest free loan. I could clear it but I haven't because I'm earning some interest on it at the moment. Not much but better than nothing.

Welcome Kari - under 40 - yes you can do it. Time is on your side.

Don't worry about it not "being a quickie". Money that comes easily and quickly can disappear quickly and easily too. Get rich schemes are unlikely to be the answer to our prayers.

Steady as she goes is my motto. ;)

Thanks! I agree but I can't get the stigma of "debt" out of my head. I haven't been debt free for a year yet. I suppose this is what Martin would call good debt?

I know what you mean Gothicrockchick.

I got out of debt in June 2011, am back in it now to pay for my MA and some work on the house and maybe a operation. I did think LONG and hard about it all cos like you I hated the idea. In the end I decided these things were holding me back and I needed to do them now rather than later - the benefits were too big to miss. I aim to be in debt for this year only and then move on to the joy of a mortgage.

In other news - re making money and moving on with life being about dreams and goals rather than Sainsbury's and the rat race I have decided that I am going to try that use £10 as an investment and go from there. It is not much more fleshed than that to be honest! but I am always thinking so wanted to remind myself to act.

Good luck with your ventures xxxxxx and Lessonlearned - I especially wish you success with the trial and the money and everything xxxxxxxxxx
    Nevertheless she persisted.

    Good evening peeps

Leicitina - slow but sure - keep going.

Kitten - loving the idea of the 5 year plan to get your dream home, good to see that your man is on board with this too. It should be much easier if you are both pulling together. :T:T on the promotion.

Rockchic - I'm sure Martin would class a career development loan as a "good debt". ;)

And Buffy - I think your "debts" are really investments too, especially your surgery. An investment in your health and well being has to be one of the best investments there is.

Whilst on the subject of health and well being.....gather round folks I have news.....

OH's drug trial now under way.

The good news is - I am starting to be able to decipher some of his speech, just the odd few words here and there but oh how lovely to be able to communicate a bit more easily.

And....... drum roll please - today he wiggled his little finger on his left hand:j:j It has been locked in a bent position for the past few weeks and he was unable to move it at all. Today he could:D

Trying not to get too excited and carried away.

On the property front - some progress at last.

On Saturday going to view some properties with the boys, we are nearly there I think. They are now focussed on what they want, where they want it and how much they can afford to pay.

I am also going to see a house for me - can't really afford it but I can look. It's new to the market so I'll take a look and then wait and see.

It's very quirky, Grade II listed, built in 1758 - one of the oldest houses in the city. I'm just about crazy enough to go for it :rotfl:

I wonder. Could this be my "calculated risk" which accelerates my money making or is it more of a mad gamble where I lose the shirt off my back. I'll take a look see.

Hi guys :-) I want to join!!!

I am basicly going to start from £0...kind of. My current circumstances are I am 22, living in a mortaged house with 75k debt to mortage company & 11k debt to family(which was to help buy the house might I add!) 10k is being paid at £50 interest only and no rush to pay back...but the other 1k should be paid back asap.

Expecting 2nd child so anything I do will be from home.

Currerntly doing my AAT course but I can't even afford the exam atm that I am ready to take (Thier are 5 exams for Level 2 at £50 each)..and am now losing motivation to get on with the 2nd book but I will get back into the swing of it!!

Run a very small Ebay business...probally make around £30-£40 a month but I have an idea to expand but I need to do more research and I'm looking needing £500 investment to buy orignal machine and including in my research will be whether to use a CC and pay it off over time...but its all up in the air :-)

My money circumstances are pretty crap... £900 in the bank but we have car insurance, mot & tax next month and were about £150-200 short of it, our income is pretty low from our jobs so will probally be using my credit card or overdraft to get through but in July it will all work out ok again (I only have the credit card as its Santander cashback and we only use it for shopping and petrol)

    My to do list:
My course (Not really supposed to be here but its top bananna atm lol)
Sort my website out (Want to blog from it but I have the domain name etc but nothing on it!)
    Get some investment savings together
Do the research on my Business product and see if its a viable profit margin.

This week, I have started Necter Adpoints & Swagbucks..its not big money but I'm hoping to save as much as possible to help with this challenge as I need investment money :-)
People don't know what they want until you show them.

    Hello all :)

I hope you don't mind me joining your band of merry folks. I have been reading through the thread for the last few days and I love the general optimism and never say die of attitude of you folks.
I too am hoping to hit millionaire status (in the next ten years) with a multi-stream of various money-pies in the oven.

I shall write more about myself, my family and my plans later - at the moment I am preparing Sunday lunch (roast pork - with home grown veggies) with one hand and trying to amuse a moody 20 month old who insists my laptop is really hers with the other hand.

I just want to say LessonLearned... you are a true inspiration. Optimistic and focused in the most difficult circumstances and you always have the time to care for, advise and mentor people (your hubby, your sons, people on here etc.) If anyone can get to millionaire status my money would be on you... you have the (metaphorical) balls, wisdom and sheer determination to get your goals. We can all learn a great deal from you. x x :T

Good luck everybody... I look forward to making millions with you all. Bams x x ;)

Awww - shucks - she says with her best goofy chuckle. (You have to imagine a "Goofy" impression here).

Welcome Bamby & Kayalana. Loving the multi-tasking Bamby - that's what we would be millionaires have to do - just keep those balls in the air.....

Well - I wont bore you all with details but I had to get my mum into a nursing home on Friday night as a matter of urgency. She had fallen out of bed again - fortunately no bones broken - and I was damned she was going to spend the night on a stretcher in our local A&E (it's like a war zone in there at the weekends).

My sister and dad are in bits and you know who has had to be the strong bossy one (again). It's not the right home for mum but it will do for respite whilst I search for something more suitable. At least we've managed to avoid a lengthy stay in hospital.

More fun and games to come with Social Services :( There will be weeks and months to come of this so I'm just going to have to pace myself. Today I am going to do zilch - just lie in the sun and soak up a few rays.

Tomorrow it will all kick off again so I need to recharge my batteries ready for the next onslaught.

So again for the foreseeable future it's all about conserving money and not having time to make any more. This is why I need some more passive income. ;)

Viewed some properties yesterday. Have found "the one":j:j Going to offer tomorrow. Wish me luck. I'll try and post links when I am a bit more organised.

Right I'm off to get on that sun lounger....
