I would of thought at that age there is plenty that you can bring in to entertain them. My two children who are 3 and 9 months come into work with me everyday 9-5 and have done since they were 4 months, needs must my husband and i are self employed and own an I.T company. My 3 year old goes to nursery two mornings a week but otherwise is with me at work.

We have plenty of toys, books etc... and they love "chatting" to customers, I would imagine as they get older they would be easier to entertain DS, Books etc...

Oh they have loads to do, i guess I feel guilty, Guilty for taking them to work, guilty for not being at home with them any more, i just feel no matter that I am doing is not good enough for everyone

I think guilt goes hand in hand with being a working mom, I love my job but still feel guilty for not being a SAHM. This is despite the fact my own mom worked full time and I know I never had a problem with this.

If your kids are happy at work and work is happy with them being there then don't feel guilty.

I have reading through this thread and judging by what you've put, it doesn't seem you have many options available to you.

Couldn't you arrange things so that you aren't both working on the same Saturday, so that the other one looks after the kids. Surely your respective bosses are approachable enough to ask this?

I think guilt goes hand in hand with motherhood working or not. Don't work and you feel guilty about the lack of money, do work and you feel guilty about the lack of time.

Is your son happy with your weekday childcare Kimberley? Also is he the eldest? My son started disliking his after school club as he approached his 9th birthday, and at 11 he's still not keen on the holiday clubs he has to sometimes go to, whereas my DD is more placid and happy to be flexible.

Could you find 2 people, (Friends/relatives), to help you out in a 1 in 6 rota? That way you'd get 2 weeks of them being at home with Dad, 1 week with friend1, 1 week with friend2 and 2 weeks going to the salon with you. It would split it up a bit for them and you.

My husband works shifts, and they cant be changed, so he has to work 4 out of 6 Saturdays, I am the manager so I need to be there on a Saturday.

We work out what days my husband isnt working, as he works shifts, then I work out what days I can have off. Then I ask my dad if he can have them some days, then they come to work some days.

This has been since October so we havnt had to do a summer holiday yet. I am taking them away for a week, my dad is taking them away for a week, my husband is going to have a week off then I am looking at holiday sports clubs now for some other time, its all so expensive though.

I know it is. Last summer hols by the time I'd deducted childcare, it meant I'd worked for £4 a day excluding travelcosts, but I just accept that it's the price I pay for having my whole wages in term-time.

Don't the kids do cubs/brownies? My eldest is away at camps with Scouts every few weekends.

The do cubs and beavers, but are both planning to leave to do other things, my son wants to do more kickboxing and drums and my daughter wants to lean an insterment and do street dancing
