Hope the wine, the hot back and ebay went well my Fabulous Frugalista.
I do try - I am chucking a load of them out and heading to primani next week. The husband isnt going to buy me underwear hes more likley to buy me a bottle of perfume.
The ebay is going really well at the moment and as it is day of Thor its sunday finishing!

Tonight am going to buy DD2 new school shoes.
I am sure, somewhere, someone is tutting. Perhaps talking about buying decent quality school shoes, and the fact its only November.
Well I did, and the sole has fallen off. My Clarks shoes used to remain intact til they nipped my ruddy toes off, these things are decrepit.
These wont be in the charity bag, they will be in the bin. And while they tick a slightly trendy while practical box on one hand, they were marketed as school footwear and they are not fit for purpose. Shambolic, in fact.
I shall write a letter.
Dear Mister Clarks.
Your shoes , formerly a bastion of quality in this country, are pants.
My daughter, who is a reticient to walk far 11 year old, has worn a pair of your Bootleg brand shoes which are marketed as durable and long lasting, on term days only since September, as the sole has left the shoe area, I think we can agree these shoes are utter rubbish.
Yours
Disgruntled of Durham
What has also stuck in my craw is her remaining black footwear is a pair of pixie boots or the "no you can never wear those boots for school" boots.
As the sole was flapping like a fat lass in a cake shop and no amount of superglue would alleviate its flap the "no you can..." etc boots have now been worn. A precedent has been set and a "but you let me" established.
Le sigh.
Moneywise it was tax credits day and paypal mullah was in, so added it together and divided it by 4 and divvied it out among what I want to pay.
Focus is Amex, Lewis Group and the Rent at the moment. A quarter of it stops in my current account, to keep wolves from doors. Unless the wolves eat brutalised clarks shoes then they are out of luck so its only the financial wolves I am abating with money.
Im working my way through the snowball for end November, getting ahead with the bills a bit. Keeping it all nice and tidy.
Will get some ebay packaged tonight, another few good sales last night... and will get some more listed too. Am really going to ramp it up towards Christmas.
Apart from that, I am doing my best really. Looking out of the window its a grey nondescript day, so will try and make my own sunshine.
Obviously not out of minced up puppies or anything but you know, by being sickly cheery, even when buying school shoes mark 2!

We're on pair of shoes number 2 here as well! Not impressed. Last year we bought start rite and they cost £44 and lasted the whole year. this year, my newly into 'looking fashionable and cool' 13 year old decided he wanted pointy shoes and refused all of the good branded shoes put in front of him! (not pointy enough!)
the un-heard of brand he fought me for, cost £25 and lasted 6 weeks! He's gone back to school with his 2nd pair, this time £16 from tesco and i bet by christmas will need those replacing too! *sigh*MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. Plans are afoot. So are feet.
I love a weekend of fun and unwanted hair removal.
However, firstly I have a rememberance service to attend today, at work.
I think its important to respect these things, and I am pretty disappointed by those who chose to dishonor these beleifs.
I am tolerant and respectful of other peoples beleifs, and I am in Britain, so I should have the same level of respect for how I choose to spend 2 minutes of my time on the 11/11. Watching people on the news planning to burn poppies and desecrating war memorials is appalling to me.
Anyway, I shall be on with that at 11am.
Last night was a mixed bag, and no ebay listing was done due to lack of time. MUST make up for that this evening!!
I may take a wine fuelled approach to it all.
Shoe shopping last night was ok... We got shoes. DS rampaged round the shop, chased by DH while I located shoes and told DD2 the shoe criteria, and a pair were eventually selected. They look alarmingly similiar to the shambolic pair. They are however a fair bit sturdier. I am sure teenagers in Secondary schools should wear hobnail boots.
These are being worn today, so Childline will not be called tonight.
I left work at 4pm last night... Picked up DS at 4.30... got home at 4.45.. put washer on and did a swift tidy whoo 20 minutes in the house, went for DH at 5.15 after the post office at 5.05 picked him up at 5.30, picked up DD2 at 6pm, went shoe shopping - bought shoes at 6.30 needed electric so bought electric at 6.45, grabbed chips at the chippy because all hope had gone and got home at 7pm. I was spinning.
The phone was ringing. It was my dad.
DD2. Had been REALLY naughty. Oh the shame of it all. I could throttle her.
There is a car share in operation, whereby DD2 and another girl can be taken into school and collected by different people, me. my dad, DD2 gran and the other girls mother all take part.
Wednesday night, DD2 did not wait of the other girl and her mother was shopping in Newcastle - (14 miles away). She left and didnt even report to my dad (who lives in the same street) that the girl had not been collected. DD2 claimed the girl had not turned up, the girl claimed DD2 had not waited. DD2 is a little impatient - theres no hanging about.
Anyway this girl was just left, and DD2 had not reported it or chased it up.
She was in real trouble and this took oceans to sort properly. My poor dad was at his wits end.
All is sorted now, and I shall be making her purchase a small apologetic gift for th egirl she abandoned, and will NOT do this again.
I ate my lukewarm chips, and then sorted DS, I just had to sort things out. So I packaged the last of the ebay so I can post it. Thats always a lark.
Its so emotive though - if someone had left my daughter I would be disgusted. I just didnt get anything flaming done after that. Grrs!
ANYHOO.
today is another day, and things will be done.
Ebay and ironing tonight. Possibly looking at a car.
Tomorrow myself and DD2 eyebrow wax, looking at Christmas tree, picking up Christmas toy order, eating at Pizza hut (kids eat free voucher in hand) and more ebay....
Sunday ironing, bleugh, possible gardening / swimming.
Another grey day and my mind wanders to the land of blue sea, sunshine and wine.
le sigh.

You can share any hints and tips with us!
It was a relief when it ended. He took the IVA option because he was desperate and then wished he hadn't. The firm he was with were ruthless bullies. Its a shame this thread wasn't around at the time as I think it would have inspired him to try and sort it a different way. Plus they didn't put all the debts in so we are now clearing those. only £2000 to go so not too bad.
I used to dread the postie, but now he hardly ever comes.
We came out the other end though, so to all who think there is no light, keep going - there is and the feeling you get once you have done it is priceless.
One question though, when all the baddies are paid off, do you think you will still carry on with the ebay and other money making ideas? Good luck and well done!! Not only have you paid off so much, from reading the thread, you have given so many such a boost. One poster mentioned you should write a book - I agree, especially if it was done in diary form. Would be brilliant lol x0 -
I am not sure it would be brilliant, haha.
feeling pretty tired again today. Need to get a piece of work finished and am feeling like a fruit loop.Trying to shift that debt!0 -
