  • had the red wine delivered this morning so evening is planned. I'm not checking the bank today, its become an obsession so instead of your no spend day, i'm having a no bank checking day
  • the found dog is being a pain. had him a year now. found him abandoned- dog warden let us keep him although 'unless he goes to kennels for 7 days he isn't actually yours' couldn't do that to him. what a pain in the bum he is x
  • sorry shoukd have said - found dog not helping with the budget
    we love him tho
  • Dont know if you know but at local colleges that they do training for beauty and hairdressing they normally have a small salon where the firls and boys can train. You could get a 2nd year student to wax legs eyebrows etc for a minimum amount, the girls then get there training and you leave with one eybrow!! no only joking you can get some good treatments for a small amount and its all supervised. i used to go when my daughter was training and used to have the works done and as they could only do one assesment on family all the other girls used to use you for facials and pedicures etc it was great!!!!!!!

  • oh yes i second what jelly bean says :) i did (many moons ago) a hair and beauty course and once we were 2nd/3rd years we were set loose on clients ;) there was lots of supervision so nothing could go wrong and you got lots of great treatments at bargain basement prices!

we haven't got a college near to us that does this (i checked when i moved here) but there is a salon in town that also does very cheap days so their trainees can have practise.

I remember getting a client and I was so nervous (my first one) i couldn't cut her hair :rotfl:not straight anyway:rotfl:so i asked my teacher to take over and the lady was extremely pleased. she got a conditioning treatment, colour & haircut for the grand sum of £4 (this was a few years back) and my teacher owned a rather expensive salon in town so i think i'd be pleased with that too ;)

  • Had a weekend which was massively busy, and did tons of Christmas shopping. I was on fire. Things were ordered with 50% off, collected, and we even ate out (kids eat free at pizza hut dontya know) I also did some baking and cleaning and laundry so its been intense.

My husband was ill, and previously I thought he didnt do that much but when he has been doing nothing it has been testing.

He was also doing nothing while being snappy, which was boiling my P*ss. So I was a veritble ballistic ray of fury and sunshine, my ebay productivity was limited (grr) and I was tempted by red wine more times than is decent.

I do however love that man, so I forgive him, eventually. After he has bathed my feet in the tears of white rhinos and stuff. And told me I am wonderful at least a thousand times. And the sun passes in the sky etc.

I made a chocolate cake, which is my cake of choice when baking.

I need some chocolate to top it with. Any spare I will utilise somehow !! Like down my gullet.

Whats on the cards? Well I am ebaying my little socks off. I will get back up to my lofty 80 listings, currently we have 36 active, will try and get some more on tonight. You get a few days when you cant get any listed and feel a real flop when you **only ** have 36 live, haha.

I shall proceed to get agrip.

Tonights plans... dads birthday so over there with the obligatory bottle, and then ebay listing.
Iron a couple of shirts, perhaps... more washing.... having our tea.... perhaps a cheeky glass of red and putting some ironing away.

    this is living people.

But I only have afew xmas presents to buy and I am still fairly solvent! I am happy with the progress, and I am scorning those who arent as organised, after all, thats my perogative!

Well, I best get some more work done. Or else I might get sacked.
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • :D^^^^^^ Is my theme, like the instantly recognisable background music on Lord of the Rings or Star Wars, this is my theme for the next 40 days.

Plans, schemes, plots and general money making mayhems are not pausing, these good practices are merely being redirected to Christmas.

Annoyingly, I seem to have had my ebay account limited. Apparently, I was not posting things quickly enough. I am naturally complaining as I state 5 working days to post!!! I post three times a week and this is WAY within those parameters. I dont understand some folks.

No matter, I can still list about 100 items a month and I can load up turbolister ready for the next onslaught on 1st December, and in any case I am sure they will lift my limit once I have spoken to them on the phone again. I am after all, charming. However there seems to have been no sense applied and the seller is on a hiding for nothing. Hey nevermind, I make about 300 a month still. ;)

I shall make some more investigations, like Jessica Fletcher, but I will need to pop in Bon Marche for a velour tracksuit. Or I can do without and merely look quizzical, while pretending to write a book.
    :o

In other news, I have a spiky little review at work this week and I need to keep a clear head, however I am not about to enjoy it. I have to gather evidence of last years performance, which is going to be a thrill as I was off work having a baby. Wonder if the midwife will give me a review, was my pushing up to standard, how were my listening skills, and did I wear white enough knickers.

I am sure I was a good little performer.

I need to check the bank today and see what is due to come out and see if I can pay anything at all. Ive a fairly hefty amex bill to pay (grrr XMAS) and that is due on the 21st, which is three days before payday. So anything I can pay against that is good.

I am hoping for a huge lottery win or money to be outlawed, either will do today, but until then I shall continue being the Froo - Gal. Tonights tea is batch cooked coq au vin and I am probably going to have a little sort out.

I may take a time out and strangle my normally wonderful husband, who is really P*ssing me off today.
    :rotfl:
I was bought a gift last night, from my parents. I have a shiny new snow shovel. Isnt that lovely! It doesnt scream spoil yerself, but it means we have a snow shovel and living on a hill means we need these things... :A

Bring on the snow... no wait. I need the car first... Bessie wont be doing snow this year, bless her. She cant manage a hard ground frost!

    Planning for this week:
Do some work at work. (yeah suppose)
Write Christmas list remaining things to buy.
Write a plan of jobs to do at home.
    Fill turbolister in any event
Bake and cook and freeze stuff
    Look at cars. uck
Make friends with the husband I suppose, his fault he should not have irritated me and disagreed with what I said.

Check the bank first and do some maths and pay some stuff off the amex, seems like the way forwards.

Anyway. Its a grey day, I am a step closer to insanity and I am counting the days until I discover oil under my back garden. Then I can be like one of the Ewings.

More musings later, another day, another step closer to lunacy and solvency. Til later muchachos.
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • Once the allocated money is taken into account there is the grand total of 6.43 remaining in my bank account. Now in my dads day that could have filled the car up with petrol, got fish and chips all round and probably 40 cigarettes.

These days it goes much further haha and just gets kept in the bank, because we cant afford to drive anywhere, fish and chips are a rare luxury instead of readily accessible, and as for 40 cigarettes some days I could have five in me gob, one in each ear and one up each nostril but most days I just think it smells worse than a chicken farm.

At least the telly is better, what with x factor instead of morcambe and wise.

I could pigging weep, our quality of life has gone! Our parents dont know how lucky they were!
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • LOL - morning Skint - you made me giggle there with parents not knowing how lucky they were. Fantastic!

A quick question for you if u please - turbo lister. I've installed it and so on, have a new ebay account and it's telling me i can't upload due to not having a card on file and to fill out the form.....only it doesn't tell ya what bleeding form. I've got a paypal account and have set up DD to pay fees and my bank accounts in there and so on. Any ideas?

    xxx

PS after work on a night - do you get to sit down?
