    Trying to shift that debt!
  • It's all good :D. I hardly make anything on e-bay these days but have a few things to go on due to weight loss so I will maybe sort through tomorrow and pop it on on Sunday :D
5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
    Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
    Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
    By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.00
  • End of the evening we had made and paid for 82.93 worth of [STRIKE]tat [/STRIKE] desireable ebay items.

Todays offerings are up to 11.20 so that will all help too.

What it means is that Ive made minimum payment on one card. It also means tonights entertainment shall include brown paper.

Last night I photographed some more stuff to list this weekend. Ive got the stuff which [STRIKE]no one wanted[/STRIKE] is awaiting the right bidder to relist too.

I am feeling positive at the moment. I just need to make sure I maintain my momentum.

Scores on the doors, ebay up to 11.20, 82.93 made last night and all used against debt so totals adjusted.

I need to check what I spent yesterday on my credit card and put it back on from my bank account.(as all purchases have 30 days interest free any payment goes against the oldest balance therefore if I cycle money through I will pay less interest and not increase my balance) I manage that myself and I cant rely on my husband to do the same, so I dont. We are merely paying his cards.

He has just messaged me at work, someone else has paid and he has sent on 6.07. I will pop that against debts tomorrow. every penny counts. That isnt included in the totals above, its in addition to it so it will need adding to the money made.

Its 2 weeks to payday and while I am sure we should be able to manage to then I am not as comfortable as I want to be. However I know this is a stark improvement to how it has been in the past. I have not had the expected amount of child support through, and its down by 180 pounds. Nor have I had a notification so I dont think it will miraculously appear.

All in all though we are doing ok. I just need to remember on payday things get tight for a little while, as everything leaves my account at once. However the good point is that the debt will go down, massively.

Ive also got to realise that Ive managed to reduce what I need to pay out already this month by 200 pounds. Thats the emergency funds in place then for next month.

    Austerity, its the way forward!

  • Debt free date is to November 2016 from December 2016, however I am going to claw that even further down. First week of the month I will try and review that, and see where I am. Another month less of debt though has to be good!

  • E-bay sales are fab. Well done for staying motivated for that. I hate e-baying but I will defo get some done soon and get some more extra pennies in.

I had thought about using my CC before for the interest purposes but am not sure now what to do. It would be my barclaycard one I would use. I have some debt on that on 0% and some on 6.9%. The 6.9% will be paid off first as that was part of the terms and conditions of getting the 0% so am not sure how it would work for me. All other debt is on 0% or I dont have a card. So in my mind then if I use the card then that debt would be the priority to come off of the account but I would get it interest free for 30 days so I would actually be paying money from the 6.9% debt. Would that not mean that the money I'm spending would then be on the high interest rate?? Oh my brain cannot work this out.

  • Well yes it would but put it back and its 30 days interest free. So its 30 days where you arent paying any interest.

Putting it back is the key.

  • I dunno if I can trust myself with a CC :rotfl:

  • I have just put the 6.07 the husband sent me against the Vanquis card. Ive made the decision as the interest is so complex that I will update this account now once a month and I wont be so demoralised once the interest comes off.

I am going to be paying a minimum of 330 to this card, every month. As its attracting the highest interest I can more than justify the additional outlay. Also my cheapest card has asked me if i want an increased credit limit, and I might look into doing a balance transfer or - if there is a charge, using the card for things I might possibly have paid cash for and putting the money back against the more expensive card. So balance transfer without the fee.

That would give me another handy boost and it would mean I have the potential to clear more than the 330 for next month and the month after. I really dont think this is a bad plan at all. I would be tackling the other card afterwards anyway, it just means I would be paying less in interest.

  • Made a bit more money on ebay but nothing like the crazy sums of last night, another ten or fifteen pounds or so once it comes in, will be on the cards as soon as I can manage it!
