  • 6 paper logs made!
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • 250 quid to be exact, and its winging its way to me via a cashed in policy. My concerns about being a bit short for my mortgage and insurance payments were valid but now its sorted.

Last night, I did some more surveys, and I tidied round and also lit the fire.

Scores on the doors, I wont make 2500 in payments this month but hell, I got close.

Ebay sitting at 7.26. All bills will be met and we sail forth into a new month, 22 days to payday. A few days til my child support is due, and that can tide me over. Any ebay can chip away at cards.

POSITIVES - I did some exercise last night. I will do some more today. Every day I shall do at least 20 minutes.

NEGATIVE - I didnt start the upstairs loo. I will wash it out with bleach tonight and also get the tools out to remove that awful dado.

POSITIVE - I am regularly doing surveys and making logs.

NEGATIVE- Im a bit obsessed with surveys and logs.

    POSITIVE - Sun is shining.

NEGATIVE- looks like its time to start the gardening.

Anyway, I think a nice brisk walk would be good at lunchtime and a nice positive outlook on the above would be good. I am a little bit fed up with everything at the moment and I need to remind myself of the positives as much as I can.

Hopefully the sun will be shining when I get back today and I can make a start on the garden with DS and my dogs but I am not holding my breath.

Looks like weather is changing and might mean washing can get on the line!

  • Brilliant news on the policy money Skint. Now that is a huge positive. I go through phases with surveys and do become quite obsessive, then ignore for months. Then whinge I have noting from surveys :rotfl:

The sun is shing and that in itself is enough to raise a smile, even though it does show the windows need cleaning :o

The other sites I listed on were car sites to help OH out.

  • I was worrying about you after I saw your post on my diary this morning, but having just logged in and seen that your Guardian Angel has come a knocking in the form of £250 I am really pleased for you. :D

I think we have some money winging our way by Friday, I should see a remittance by close of play today fingers crossed.

I have been trying to exercise too, Yoga to be exact !Now believe me I am not a Yoga type person, I giggle at all the seriousness of it all and have the attention span of a gnat, but its actually made me feel a little calmer although I only managed 6 minutes this morning as I was rushing. x

  • Glad some money has come from somewhere for you both.

So the big clean has begun. I almost feels like spring is here. Havent got round to the windows yet but the wardrobes and drawers have all been sorted and organised in our room and the cleaning will now commence......well once I have parcel taped the hose back onto the hoover :o
  • Its a new month tomorrow and I am going into it without living in a rented house, and back in the 25s.

Ive decided to do a kind of month end review,a snapshot. I am going to detail what my priorities are and make sure I have got them sorted for the next 5 weeks.

I am paying the cards and at the moment, sometimes we are using them. However the focus card which is Vanquis, we are not using. This card is in another purse and other cards will join it in its isolation as we give them up. The priority has to be to get rid of our most expensive borrowing.

Once I pay my mortgage in the morning I will have 35p remaining. However the car tax is paid. I will just have to knuckle down and crack on.

YTD figures for repayment I want to break 5000 asap. Also money earned from ebay and surveys etc I would like to make that in excess of 200 this month.

I want to pay at least 300 pounds from vanquis and Amex each. I will be maintaining my minimum payments on everything else but really driving down particularly vanquis as every penny will count.

If I get any overtime, I am going to pay that off vanquis. I do need to establish an emergency fund - and I will do. I will put 50.00 a month to one side and once I have a 300 pounds pot I will pay that off another card which I sometimes use - its a lower interest rate but could do with chipping away at it and building a little more room there.

Still waiting for the council tax bills.

This month will also see commencement of project redecorate the upstairs loo. Budget capped at 200 pounds. The major expense will be a the cabinet and the rest I will be able to do reasonably cheaply. The cost will be spread over 2 months and will be a challenge to do more cheaply. This is not a quick blitz its my jobbing on project for weeknights and has to fit with my other mother jobs including laundry and gardening and cleaning.

Weekends will be spent on family time and also working on the other house.

Ive got DD2 birthday this month and she would like a new television. We have a clearance bargains (argos returns) place not too far away, so can get a decent television at a fraction of the price. Her dad has offered to sort her party so he can do that, and I will put the additional 50 pounds to her television.

Other spends anticipated so far are : a new laundry basket as the other one is not big enough and it is dropping to bits. Money for all these things will be cycled through a credit card to keep it moving and the interest down.

Also have increased my TFS loan payment to 270 per month, which is overpaying by 50 pounds a month. As its front loaded interest I will be interested to see the capitalised statement. Last year, when I was overpaying by 30 pounds a month it had the effect of almost double that against the balance. So well worth it. I will aim to increase it every three months by ten pounds. Up to now, I have reduced my loan term which was at 5 years and I now will have repaid it in 4 and a half.

However I must focus on Vanquis and I shall set up a direct debt for the minimum payment on this to start in April.

I am also going to actively strive to keep a minimum balance in my current account and not use my small but oh so tempting overdraft. This is a good place to keep my emergency funds initially. Then they shall go into a savings area and I shall run my account in credit. Heres hoping. Thats an ongoing aim though this is doable by 1st May, I need to get the headset right now.

No payments to report today but my priorities are as follows:
Mortgage 273. Amex need to make some payments as ive not paid.

I need to investigate my welcome finance loan. Im paying a small amount via a debt collection agency now. Its zero interest but its having a knock on effect on me as its in default on my credit report. They are in administration and I dont know if they will even update my credit report. I just dont know whats what with that.
    :(

So scores from the doors, nothing paid today.
    7.86 in ebay bids
My husband just said he would send me some money to get my 2500. whoop. Ill make payments and then update my sig!:A
