  • I think I should be able to clear at least a debt a month to the end of the year.

    Thats good going isnt it?

Thats bloody brilliant :j:j I love the little payments you are making off Amex, what I love even more is that surely it must pee them off :rotfl::rotfl: I so enjoyed doing that with my Virgin CC. A pound here and there really did get it cleared super quick :D I need to start doing that again but at the moment I am just paying my min payments and saving every spare penny for a new kitchen. I know this is not the MSE way but its what I really really want. :o

Bet your Saturday night was fab, i got a wee bit emotional on Saturday watching the olympics, was absolutely proud to be british :D

Keep swimming Skint you are doing brilliantly xx
  • 1166 days to debt free heaven :D
  • Cheers princess. and hi!

Kitchens make your heart sing so go for it. Yes. I just need to clear it as its linked to a business account I want rid of and then I want to apply for another job, however I sit with a static 3k of debt due to costs and whatnot but this is really a shackle. So if I can get rid it would be good and gives me more freedom but you know its not affecting credit scores or having high interest.
Its something I need to do though to move on.
Vodafone will be gone by friday... then the next one with the overpay is P2P. That was a silly idea but I did have a breakdown earlier this year and couldnt cope. Silly me. (this will free up the 160 per month plus the 65 overpayment I am making...)

After that its my Rise card, taken out at the same time as P2P. Its costing 55 a month and its got fees of around 30. Its going to be overpaid at its 55 + 160 + 65 Should just take a month. lol

The plan is then to up my overpayments on my long term loan by 40 taking it to 300, and then save 15 a month in an emergency fund, and pay 160+65 plus minimum payment to my next card.

It might take forever but I am hoping my bits of ebay payments and things will drag it along. I will carry on with the plan!
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • Ive realised, I am doing a three pronged approach.

    1. Amex Payment a day (ish, its Monday to friday but I wont split hairs)
    2. Credit cards which are next on the list - Rise and Vanquis - not being used and merely being paid. Rise slightly more overpaid than vanquis but its higher up the list.
    3. P2P and TFS - overpaying both of these this month, one is my most expensive and the other is over the longest term (thus should be reducing my time to being debt free)

I am confident this is a good approach as I feel in control.

We need our tenant as well and we can really shift things a bit more...

  • Ive got excited again!!!

  • I think its cos I have realised, just that once I have a tenant, not only will the mortgage be met, so will water rates, council tax and gas and electricity, and it means an additional 450 per month is available

:j Now that is something to get excited about. Can you prioritise the payment to the builders over everything else? Then as soon as they are done you can get a tenant and the money you save there can put you back on track? Does that make sense? It does in my confuddled little brain :o

You soud like you are back in control :D
  • I have the money ready for them, we have been left it in a will - just am sourcing all the materials, and getting the first lot of work done, we are going to the other house tonight to clear the decks for them and then we will be booking them in for the joinery, then we paint, and they refit the bathroom, then we do flooring.... and bobs your uncle. I think its just made sense to me now how much more cash we will have!! I sense my debt free day might just sneak down...

  • It seems life is one big challenge at times.

I think as well, I should start thinking about losing some weight. Now I am not even considering doing more exercise eating less fat or giving up alcohol. So some form of an amputation could be order of the day.

No I think I will eat fruit and rice and see how I go. I probably will become constipated, and not lose weight anyway.

Too much is bouncing if I jump….

Moneywise, I feel really good about it all. A bit work will put the place ready for the builders to start. We already had put money aside it was just getting priced up and getting started. Will just need to phase it in properly, should be great.

Right a bit more work then home via ebay posting!
