I wonder what would happen if people wrote to DVLA and "removed the implied right" to share their data with 3rd parties, it would not hamper DVLA, but only the goons we see in these scams.
When DVLA or anyone else send you data they set our conditions on how it may be used, whats to stop us doing the same.
Can one of the Legal Beagles draw up a standard notification to print and sign forbidding the sharing of data, they might ignore it, but it may leave them open to a challenge.
When you deal with DVLA you could then include the signed disclaimer removing their implied right to share data, I assume it is an implied right as you sign the documents you sign to agree to terms that don't dispute their right to sell data, but if you were to object, to insist that they only use your data in connection with in house uses and forbid them from selling it , where would they stand ?

You have got one real stubborn bf lol...Reading this just reminds me of trying to talk to my mate, he's just like that too...I tell him one thing, he does the other...Panics, is impatient and completely paranoid, he once decided to pay a "£60 P'C'N" to , I can't remember which PPC it was but ...then they send him ANOTHER invoice asking for more money for admin costs!...

One thing I find really really hilarious is how Athena's sign boards claim that all profits will be donated to charities...what charity?! B.S!! they now consider themselves a charity do they??

By law they can only claim for the actual loss suffered. If they are making a profit on the deal then they are admitting they are asking for more money then they are entitled to.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Wow, you're right!!! But EVERY signboard in EVERY Lidl, the white and blue ones - say this line! "Profits will go to charity" ... Or it may say proceeds :o I'm not sure, I'm sure someone has a picture of a Lidl signboard somewhere?... I'm pretty sure it says profit though.

While I'm writing all of this, I've just received my Final Reminder from MET Parking :T wehey, was wondering what took so long...Can't wait till the debt collector ones now :D

I know some Tesco stores actually do say "profit" on their signs.

I've just taken a picture of one of the Lidl's signs, thought as I'm driving past, might as well.

Here's a link to the photo (yfrog)

"if your vehicle remains in this car park for more than 1 1/2 hours you agree to pay a £90 parking charge".

Who is that notice directed at? The driver (who's vehicle it might not be), the owner, or the registered keeper?

No I most certainly do not so agree - and I have no practical opportunity to question/dispute/negotiate this (so called) unilateral contract(sic).

It isn't a valid contractual offer anyway - it is not an invitation to park. It is a notice that trespass would occur after 1.5 hours, and what would their loss be from the trespass? The contract is obviously one of free parking prior to 90 mins. £90 would amount to a contractual penalty, as we know.
