You should ignore the PPC - it doesn't matter what you say to them they will turn down any appeal.

Contact a Lidl Director ( strangely they keep very tight lipped about naming their current board ) - I think the current UK Managing Director is Ronny Gottschlich. Try all the email addresses below - one should get through. Remember to tell him you don't appreciate being harassed by his agents and that from now on you'll be using another supermarket.

I got a fine for being 14 minutes over on a Friday night when the car park was empty. I used the email address above and withing an hour and a half I had a phone call from Lidl cancelling my parking ticket. Many thanks for that I would have paid up

Could I point out that this was never a "fine", it was an unenforceable invoice which you could have ignored.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • HAve just received a charge certificate from Athena for overstaying in lidls in Welling kent bi 13 minutes. Did use the shop, however paid with cash and cannot now find my receipt. What do I do, from reading these forums am I right in thinking the general consensus is to just ignore this??

Would appreciate your comments as I don't want a £90 bill just before christmas.

YOU DONT DO ANYTHING, but some research which will show you why not doing anything is the right thing to do; IGNORE THEM
Get a small child to show you what ignore means and copy !
Then what will happen is they will send lots of fake scary letters from fake debt collectors and fake solicitiors, they may even get a fake debt collector to call your phone.
What you do then is...IGNORE, you should be getting it by this point
Then they will send fake threats of fake court action.
    Which you IGNORE
Then they go away and pick on someone else with their FAKE parking tickets .

  • So I should ignore them then is that what you are saying......

Thanks for the patronising response, was just making sure that the advice previously given still stood in case some other legislation came in since the last posts in May.

If you had cared to look at all the other threads on here that deal with private parking matters you would have seen that nothing has changed.

BFhas now scanned me the 'invitation to treat' them with this money and I've noticed that BOTH photos are of the car ENTERING the car park.

I know in your case the two photos were the same but I heard on a radio programme another scam - a couple went into the supermarket (can't remember which one) in the morning, did their shopping, realised later on they had forgotten something and went back for it.

They got sent photos of them entering the car park in the morning and leaving in the evening. They had been parked elsewhere during the day in another car park with cameras so there was no doubt that they had been there all day.

I did read all the other posts, just as this is the first one I have received, wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing. Thats why I thought I would write on a friendly forum such as this. Sorry if my double checking of the correct procedures has upset anybody:beer:
