So basically, writing to them was a massive waste of time and effort????

From our point of view I suppose it was.

However enough letters of complaint might lead to the supermarkets rethinking their policies. One can but hope.....

Well we don't endorse parking in bays that are meant for people with disabilities, if you are in fact not disabled or somebody in your vehicle is. Just use the advisory bays for the purpose they were set up.
So why do you advocate "Keeping within the rules" as far as disabled bays are concerned, but "Ignore" any tickets received for breaking other "Rules".
    Whats the difference?
  • Nobody advocates "keeping within the rules" (or breaking them) because they are not rules. PPCs will slap an invoice on your car because one of your wheels is touching the white line. They will try to invoice you because you have stayed in a free car park for 3 minutes longer than the hour that their "rules" say you can, even if you've just spent hundreds of pounds in the store that hired them to [STRIKE]harass their customers[/STRIKE] protect their car park.
The entire business model of PPCs relies on threatening, deceiving, and harassing people who may be vulnerable and not understand that all they have is a legally unenforceable invoice, and, say it loud, NOT A FINE. Those who post regularly on here are just trying to help people avoid being ripped off, and avoid money being given to companies whose behaviour is borderline criminal.

On the other hand, parking in a bay that has been provided to make life easier for those who, through no fault of their own, have some form of disability, is simply bad manners.

You are showing courtesy and respect to the disabled by leaving the bays free for them which is nothing to do with rules. As for their other "rules" they are anything but.

Because you don't need a ppc to police something that 99% of people don't do, and you certainly don't need one to harass customers with court and debt collectors etc, the customer is king it's about bloody time that retailers realise this.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

    To be fair you didn't.

But to be fair, we never say people can/should use disabled bays or parent & child bays either. Most people don't abuse these.

We are just saying that, by using PPCs, the Supermarkets are using a sledgehammer to crack a nut - and this will come back to bite them on the bum one day. And because that 'sledgehammer' involves threats and fake Notices from a scumbag industry we are of course going to tell people to ignore the whole scam - this is MSE after all!

As I said, the use of PPCs will bite the Supermarkets on the bum in the end, either by general customer apathy slowly evolving into customer dissatisfaction (but it takes British people a long time for the penny to drop with these things & to complain).

Or by a disabled person suing them for compensation for the harassment from their agent for daring to park in a bay they are entitled to use.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Hi all,

I have received a fine from this company because I went over by 15 minutes, which is ridiculous as it took me 10 minutes to get a parking space in the first place

Was just wondering how your fine played out. Did they stop bothering you after a while and did you continue to use the car park?

Sorry to start this thread again seeing as it is 2 years old but i need to know if things have changed on the lidl parking fine front.

    Shall I pay or not?

    Thanks in advance!
