    Its a 45 minute drive/QUOTE]

45 mins for a 50 mile drive when you live in the middle of nowhere? He's averaging 67 mph which is pretty good going, given the speed limit is at most 70. Therein lies the problem I'm afraid.

Think you mean 60. And even then, this is just the maximum permitted speed - not the recommended speed.

Interesting thread which caught my eye ;)

I've got a fully comp policy with Aviva and just took a look at the Certificate which you can print off online with them ...it says
    * Under the terms of section 2 of the policy - Liability to Third Parties - the policyholder may, subject to the owners express consent, also drive a car not belonging to the policyholder or hired to the policyholder under a hire purchase or lease agreement.

But he has commercial insurance which could be different
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

I agree .....however it depends what the OP means by "commercial"
I have Buisiness Insurance with them and although it does not mention anything in the policy booklet about driving 3rd party it does mention it on the actual certificate of insurance as quoted above.

He managed to keep his licence last time.

Maybe he should have been squeaky clean after getting away with it last time, I drive 1000's of miles per month not even had a parking ticket in 25 years. I would always check anyone's documents before permitting them to drive my car.

45mins for 50 miles is 67mph isn't it? Show your working. 45*4/3 =60 minutes or one hour 50*4/3 =67mph. QED.
