the pizza shop if you stood in front of the town hall with your back to it looking out towards the market there is a road to the left hand side and if memory serves it was called market street and there was a flower shop next door although when I was there a fire occurred in the florist so that may have gone and on the other corner was a bakers shop
and yes we have been hammered by the wind and the rain although it has been dry today but cold
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you

    Evening all!

Well, I've been doing my Winter Clean ready for Christmas today. I have (in this order):

    - Made the bed
    - Done the washing up
    - Been to the PO and posted Ebay parcel, picked up a paper
    - Circled jobs in paper
    - Washed the sofa cover - is currently outside drying
    - Cleaned all the windows, inside and out
    - Taken down the curtains and given them a hoover
    - Washed all the woodwork
    - Cleaned out the hoover
    - Had a really deep hoover of the carpet in the living room

Am currently in the process of dusting everything and putting it all back where it came from. Have re-hung the curtains.

So, going to get the tree tomorrow afternoon, then decorate it and the flat on Friday. Although, we really wanted to have the tree next to our balcony door, but I just cannot see how its ever going to fit there - looks like it'll have to go somewhere else.

OH is at work until 9.30 tonight. Will be cleaning the dining room and kitchen tomorrow, and applying for all the jobs I looked at today.

Am *so* looking forward to putting the tree up! The fabric for OH's stocking arrived today, so will start making (and filling!) that very soon :D

    Ohh I'm baaaacccckkkk... :j

Had a nice meal at an Italian restaurant: Lentil and veg soup, Pizza Del Figone (cheese, mushrooms and pepperoni) - a Peroni beer, coffee. Food of very good quality I must say. :)

The at Sainsbury I found organic broccoli reduced by 50% byt still lookin quite fresh, so I bought three (I can live on the stuff anyway), and various bits and pieces. £20.29 total, I had a voucher for £2 off, so £18.29. Not bad.

Tonight it's cheap dinner 'cos of the big lunch today, so I'll cook some of that broccoli and then dust it with parmesan and olive oil - yummy and healthy.

Tomorrow business lunch in the City on company expenses. I reckon that I have about 15 meals per month on expenses, so that is a BIG saving.
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

Any help with my dilemma would be much appreciated, thanks OSers!!

    xx

Sorry prinny, I have no idea what you can do other than find another flat. We don't get those sort of condensation problems seeing as we get lots of sunny weather. :D Sounds a nightmare and not really good for you either.

Hope you get some help soon. Just having my morning cuppa then better get organised as DGS will be over in an hour. Glad to see you get Kath & Kim. It was hilarious last night. :D
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Feeling down today, :( I've been having problems with my eyes and the optician thinks I may have something called contact lens fatigue  and if so I'll never be able to wear them again. Having worn lenses for 30 years I hate the thought of going back to specs full time. Not only that but my specs need replacing if I'm going to wear them all the time and because of the cost of super thin lenses (otherwise I'd have bottle bottoms perched on my nose) I've been quoted £450.   I didn't order them but dH has told me I've got to. Might wait a few more days and see if my eyes recover before I do. I keep crying every time I think about it, I'm at w**k so I've been pretending it's my problem making them water.

Sorry to hear about that. I haven't worn contacts for years, but having been thinking about getting some. I know just how you feel about the cost of glasses though - if I want thin lenses I have to pay at least £300 for them alone or I'd end up with huuuuge lenses too. I'm lucky though - I like my glasses. I hope you get better news soon *hug*

    Evenin' all

Just watched Nigella's christmas - and I knew there was a reason I hadn't made a Christmas cake yet! She made the most beautiful looking chocolate one on the show. Even DH was wondering if we could get the recipe and make it.

    it's here http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/chocolatefruitcake_84675.shtml

And there was me wandering round the market in Newcastle today not buying any of the lovely stuff cos I was on a diet:rotfl: . Leaves room for the cake I s'pose. Though I think the ingredients might bust the grocery budget - I hadn't allowed for Tia Maria on the list:rolleyes:

Not a lot happened today - spent it at w***. Managed to spend £80 on a new skirt in Jigsaw - dunno how it happened, must've been the elves. (The number is in there, I just made the text white to hide it:o  ) My OS justification is that it'll last for years (jigsaw stuff always does) cos it's good quality, not high fashion but trendy and can be worn for lots of occasions and eventually even for work (Does it sound like I'm protesting too much?)

Off to bed to dream of chocolate fruitcake.

    Be careful out there

Saw the show too and the cake looked yummy - am not keen on Xmas cake normally but think I'll give that a go. Have some Tia Maria in the house already. Hadn't got round to looking on the BBC website so ta for that, good its there did wonder if it might involve buying a book to get the recipe but obviously not :D
