Welcome Tuttifruitty and happy Anniversay Jellycat. Isn't it lovely when they are thoughtful like that and don't just grab something from a petrol station in panic. :D

Congratulations Mrs A - well done.

    Morning everyone :hello:

    hello tuttifruitty!

    :j Congratulations jellycat! :j :j

Well, I'm up and about to have a shower. I've got to pop down to the post office this morning and I'll probably get some minced beef whilst I'm down in the town to make a vat of Jamie Oliver's chilli con carne. DH used to "brew" his own, but I made Jamie's recipe one day for friends and we've never gone back to DH's version. :p

I've done a fair amount of ironing and the stuff that I've got to do now is drying, so maybe this afternoon in front of some tv!

Anyway, I'd better go for now as I need to get motivated!

Some good news for your friend, at least something good has come out of a bad situation for her.

    Morning all!

Re avatars - you SHOULDN'T have to go all the way into a person's profile just to see their avatar. You should enable yourself to see them by changing the settings in your own profile (go to User CP and then to Edit Options, and there's a box you can tick).

Beautiful day in London this morning! Not much else to say at the moment - might pop back later :)

Hugs to anybody who needs them - I'm at work and have lots to do, so must be off...

    Helllllllllllllllllllllllllooooooooooooooooo

Not posted on this thread for a couple of days. I had my appraisal on Monday and it all kicked off in the office. I have been doing 90% of the work for the past few months and the new person (here since May) hasn't really worked out as planned, so it made my job even harder.

Anyway, to cut a very long story short I have been promoted to Office Manager and will now be recognised and paid appropriately for the job I do. I didn't get it on a plate though, I had to take my boss to one side and tell him 'I'm not doing all of this for nothing!' He expected me to take on the job without any payrise, not even a cost of living payrise

Now I'm the boss, does that mean I can still skive off and come on here? :rotfl:

On a  note, I have been told that my tax credits were overpaid in 2004-2005. I have been disputing this for nearly a year now, but they've ignored my letters/phone calls and have threatened me with court action if I don't pay it back or at least arrange to pay it back within [STRIKE]7 days[/STRIKE] 4 days now. This was claimed with my partner who I'm no longer with and have no contact with. They can't be bothered to chase him, so I have to repay it. Even though I earn 1/2 of what he earns.   Is it just me that hates them.

Hugs to all of you that need them, especially those of you with little bumps.

    Mel

    :santa2: Morning!

Just trying to find the energy to go deal with the rest of the cookie dough. I spent some time decorating them but you're right Kethry Speculaas are not normally decorated they just have almonds on but I got carried away!:o I put a photo of them on last nights thread. I am practising using the digital camera so I can get ready to sell some stuff on ebay.

Made a small dent in the ironing yesterday so more to do  and then I intend to watch It's a wonderful life and knit some more rows on fluffy scarf.

Just found a photo of my sisters cat (she is also my cats sister!) her name is Lizzie and she is 13 yrs old.
