Hello to Tuttifruiti:hello:
Crazychick - sorry things between you and OH aren't any better xx
Have just had a friend round for coffee, her daughter was rushed to hospital with suspected meningitis yesterday(she's 14) but it turned out to be a migraine, poor girl has suffered so much with them and thought they'd gone away but turns out they're back with a vengence!
Am planning a mega mince pie bake this afternoon when I get back from my friends. DH cant get enough of them with this new recipe(best mince pie pastry ever thread) must admit to sampling the odd one or two myself(or three!:p )
Am off into town to get some cash.
See you later xxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning all
Hugs to those in need.
Well my living room is near enough finished, all the decorating is done, floor is layed and it's clean.....I just need to find the energy to start building the new furniture. Been decluttering in a major way, several bits went on freecycle and were picked up yesterday - Spent 4 hours mucking out DD2s room yesterday and doing DD1s room today (honest - it's just hers is the only pc actually hooked up at the mo so thought I'd have a surf and a coffee).
We've been so busy organising and moving furniture that my meal plans have gone out the windwo - DD's are living on pasta/sausages/HM wedges, DH and I are grabbing a slice of toast before we collapse into bed...good for the figure though
Christmas shopping is all done, all wrapped and all stored away, decorations won't go up for another 2 weeks so I'm not feeling remotely Christmassy yet. Can't belive schools break up next week - where's that time gone?
Have just taken the dyson to bits and scrubbed it all - all this plaster dust hasn't helped it do it's job - it's now sitting on the radiator drying so that I can crack on.........good excuse for another coffee...and maybe a biscuit.....:T

Woohoo!!
I had my eye on a couple of sets of saucepans which were massively discounted at Robert Dyas. I was originally considering a set that was selling for £39.99, then I realised there was a much better set available for £59.99. I have a £5 off voucher so could have had them for £54.99.
Just went onto the RD website and they had a "web exclusive" price of £44.00 on the pricier set, and I found a free delivery code (worth £4.95) on HotUKDeals so it didn't matter that my voucher couldn't be used online
Top moneysaving! Now the pans should be delivered to my office within 5 working days and all I have to worry about is lugging them to the bus stop to take them home :eek:Operation Get in Shape

Update on the promotion; My boss just offered me £16k.
Problem is.... I already earn £15600 per year.
He thinks taking on the whole of the office and responsibility for the company is worth 25p an hour more than the other person employed here (she earns the same as me, even though I've been here 4 years).
Gutted.
I told him 'NO! Go away and I'll think about what I want'.

Just a quick P.S.
Post has just arrived and I found an notification of an unexpected tax refund which will arrive just before Christmas.
Maybe there is a MoneySavingGod after all . . . .:DWhere now?0 -
Good morning to all, yells, bells and knells to those who need them as appropriate.
This is my first day off since last week, so lots of catching up to do, bed is changed (will I ever get this "Fighting with the duvet" sorted ) washing up done and dusted, off to get some veggies in shortly (and get the Procster filled up with gas) I found some venison in the freezer so a hearty stew is on the cards. Last night I bit the bullet and hoovered through and started the "Danse Macabre" of tidying up!- I don't tidy per se; stuff that is downstairs that should be upstairs gets put on the stairs and when I have to go upstairs some gets taken up with me - and vice versa. That way it gets shifted without too much effort. (and whilst a lot of upstairs stuff is downstairs it is a great time to clean and hoover upstairs) The ironing is now done and airing in front of the fire (which I have been playing with and now stops in all night - Yipee)
I had a chat with most of the extended family and we have decided to not do pressies this year as it was getting stupid - So only a couple needed for GD and sons - Much much money saved - Mother has announced she is going off with her BF for a holiday as well, this is going to be a quiet Christmas all in all- Must start on my booze list soon mind you! Mr P's larder is sadly short of Sasparilla
Work seems to have settled down into a routine now, at first I was doubtful about the job but part from heavy lifting it is a total no brainer and actually quite refresing after 15 years of being the man where the buck stops. I have been given a boy to train up already (I have only been there 2 months). Jeez don't they make them thick nowadays? This one is as bright as a TOC-H Lamp and other people only work with him out of curiosity.
I'm off to check out Mr T's yellow stickers then it will be Aldi and Dunelms - Have a good day everyone.
I have just returned from Mr T's where the yellow ticket fairy blessed me with her presence! Christmas Shopping is now just about over for the sum of £22!Does anyone have any ideas as to what to do with with a "Finest" Blossom Honey Drycure Pork Loin Joint? It looks delicious and all the instructions say is to roast it - I think it is worth more effort for something special ( as it was stickered down to half price I had to get two BTW
) Also - with some help from the senendipity pixies I found another garage that is selling LPG for 10p less than my usual one and I saved £5 on a tankful.
Nothing really happening in Aldi so I bought a bottle of Sherry - Sorry English Fortified Wine (just for cooking you understand).
Feeling very happy todayThe quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0 -
Morning Guys!
Happy Anniversary Annibooklover:j ....its our 13th anniversary on Monday:eek:
Not feeling great today, think I may have some kind of head cold tooOH had to help me shower this morning and get dressed as I hurt all over. Painkillers are now taking effect though:D If it gets too bad, I will cal me GP and he will give me a shot of something;)
MIL not feeling well either, so we have done a huge lamb stew that should feed us all. OH can pop it down to them later as I dont need more germs. DW has been unloaded, another washload done at MIL's (be glad when our WM arrives on friday!), toilet cleaned and house pretty much tidy.
We had our final electric bill this morning for £133:eek: ...so that has to be paid by the end of the month. Hoping we wont have to touch savings and can use ebay/amazon sales to pay for it. We are very high electric users for some reason
DD has announced that she is taking us out for a meal on Monday as its our anniversary. She has booked it up and everything and is using her visa card to pay for it all:D ...I find it hard to remember that she is only 11...well nearly 12! She also found a BOGOF voucher to use there, but we are only allowed a main course, soft drink and a starter to share:rotfl: ...no pudding:rolleyes: ...as she will be making that at homeI tried to suggest us just doing something special at home, but she said NO! I dont like the idea of her spending her money on us as thats for her, but what do I do? Maybe we can twist her arm and get some nice steak or something-but she loves eating in restaurants and we dont have a dining table.
Our nets arrived this morning, so should all be put up by the weekend and hopefully the curtains will be here by then too.
Anyway, I must go as my eyes are starting to play up and Im seeing double:eek:
Breakie: Bubble & Squeak leftovers
Lunch: Sandwich (cheese & salad)
Dinner: Lamb stew and dumplings
Hugs to everyone.
