    Hello Everyone

Feeling very tired today as I was working until 11pm and then couldn't sleep.

Just been updating work's website with more Christmas stuff. Feeling very much like "i can't be bothered" today. But then I've felt that way for a while!!! Had a word with someone last night to see if they'll ditch using an agency and take me on as a press officer for them. I'm taking the view of trying to create my own luck in life.

Looking forward to getting next Friday off, as that'll be my first day off in 2 weeks.

Must start thinking about making some sweets for Christmas> Maybe next weekend, when I have one day off!!!!

    Hope everyone's ok

OOOOH how lovely 11 o'clock, good for you , I'm green with envy . My monsters' would set about destroying the house if I had a sleep in for even 5 minutes, I've been promised a lie in over the xmas break..............I'm not holding my breath

    Hello mustafa and welcome :)

LOL I'm often up at 6, depending on what surveys I have to work on. I'm a self employed market researcher you see - no, not an interviewer!

Anyway sometimes I have the whole day free and I like to take it easy. But then I have no family so I can afford this little luxury.

Also, it's easy to be an Old Styler when living alone, as there's nobody else around who may object to such things as the smell of vinegar etc. :rotfl:
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

Aussielass - Look at moy, look at moy. DD and I love Kath and KIm, DH doesn't quite get it.

Feeling down today, :( I've been having problems with my eyes and the optician thinks I may have something called contact lens fatigue  and if so I'll never be able to wear them again. Having worn lenses for 30 years I hate the thought of going back to specs full time. Not only that but my specs need replacing if I'm going to wear them all the time and because of the cost of super thin lenses (otherwise I'd have bottle bottoms perched on my nose) I've been quoted £450.   I didn't order them but dH has told me I've got to. Might wait a few more days and see if my eyes recover before I do. I keep crying every time I think about it, I'm at w**k so I've been pretending it's my problem making them water.

    Hi everyone!
All this talk of the new book....I've dropped a large hint to the Christmas fairy that I would like one [well I wrote the details out and handed them over] so here's hoping!!
Finally got round to joining Freecycle...it must be me being a bit slow but it's not clear whether I have to join Yahoo groups or not.. could someone please enlighten this rather blond Essex girl?!!!
OH is a happy bunny. Parents of friends of ours are just about to move. They rang him to ask if he'd like some hardwood they've got in storage. Off he toddles to collect it only to find that they've also got a mahogany [post WW11] wardrobe that they were about to burn. He's chopped it up and brought it home. Free wood to make miniature furniture:j :j I learnt last year that if someone offers you something you should say yes even if later on you find you have to pass it on. If you say no they won't offer you stuff again and next time it might be something you really wanted. Obviously there are some exceptions to every rule!!
OS today as been the usual mucking out, white wash and floors cleaned. Have also picked up some choc for FC and some suitable wrapping paper for the stocking. Noticed on the way in that Clark's have a sale so shall pop in on the way home and see if they've got any trainers for the small person.
Tonight I will finish off the cards and my treat is to read an Anglo Saxon mag a friend has lent me..OK not everyone's preferred choice of reading but I'm a happy bunny.
OH is making lamb and stuffing burgers tonight for tea out of the frozen remains of the roast. Yum Yum pigs bum [except it's not pig but hey ho!!]
Have a most splendid day chaps/chapesses

  • Old Style Day 2

I am hooked, last night I made a batch of 20 spicy meatballs (which didnt turn out to be THAT spicy  ). I nipped to ASDA on the way home from work and managed to bag a MASSIVE reduced meat haul :j - there IS a moneysaving God and he (or should that be a she ;) ) is obviously happy that I'm converting to an OSer!!! :A Despite the savings, the sheer amoutn I spent may push me over this week's target but nevermind, it should keep us going FOREVER!!!

I also made some sausage burgers (just out of some reduced sausages)- I want to put them on a bagel with a poached egg and melted cheese a la McDonalds breakfast bagels :o (I know they're !!!!!! so i thought Id make my own).

Hubby rang last night - he was literally in stitches laughing at the fact that I was cooking again (yet was having so much fun that I forgot to actually eat any tea myself!).

I decided to 'worked from home today' ;) , the lure of the kitchen has been too much though and I ended up chopping up the fresh herbs that i bought and putting them in icecube trays with a little water so that I can keep them in the freezer! I have also started branching out into other moneysaving areas too... I bought a dress last night from George (reduced to £4 :D ) and it's a cerise colour- perfect for the concert Im going to in a couple of weeks- but  I have no shoes to match! Hmmmm, , let's think OS- I'll dye my wedding shoes! (that frankly will never be worn again) So i have bought myself some dye in Cerise colour and am gonna have a go at dying them to match my dress- £1.88!

I'd love to be a housewife, I asked the hubby last night if I could be a housewife, he said not unless we have kids (spoilsport!). I asked whether our little dog counts as a kid, apparently not.... He seems to think that all this 'domesticated business' is only bourne out of the fact that things are getting tough at work at the moment and I'm trying to withdraw from it.

Anyway, almost time to pick little fluffy Barney (our dog) from the 'de-fluffers' - I can't WAIT to see what he looks like!

    Bye for now!

    Hi everyone

That money-saving god is working over here too :D I'm going to get Mr TM a new mobile for xmas - from Boots and the one I wanted was giving £310 worth of points. I thought I'd leave it a few days before I ordered it - and the offer has gone up to £360 pounds worth :j :j

Anyway - got some work-type stuff done today then popped into Mr T's for 2 bits - came out £57 lighter - but did pick up some xmassey food/drink bits and also had time to peruse the aisles and pick up things I either forget or have never tried before. Thought I'd give myself a couple of hours to put the shopping away and do a swish and swipe .... when my sister phoned to say they were stuck, They'd had a puncture and the wheel brace had snapped!! If they'd have phoned 10 mins earlier, I'd been within 1 mile of them too :( So, had to drive back there and help out. AND the wheel, which had been quite happily standing there, fell over on my foot, which my sister thought was hilarious!! LOL - not! :D

So, I've managed to bung a load in the WM and pack the DW on. Tea will be sausages and mash and maybe a micro sponge pud and custard if I feel like it.

Tonight will mainly be spent sorting out business admin - my most hated thing to do, but needs must.

(((hugs))) to all and catch ya all later.

    TM xxx
