    Hello taxi

Have not called in lately so thought I'd drop by :) Good to see you are on track and everything is going OK. I think you did the right thing about the chain. At the end of the day your personal safety and well being is more important than worrying aboutn wearing it.

    Keep going! :)

Hi everyone:hello: :hello: ...hope you are all ok....
Not been to work again today as my daughter, son in law and baby grandson were involved in a car crash last night:eek:   luckily the baby is totally ok and my daughter and son in law only have whiplash...so all isn't too bad...
Well I've finished the year not too bad I suppose...
I have £3400 in my current account and £260 odd in savings
while this looks good...the tax man wants £1900, subs £460 are due and my cashback credit card needs £588 odd..not bad considering I had to have repairs on the car etc and fuel...I usually spend over £1000 every month so big improvement there!!:j :j
At least I'm not in my O/d...another miracle:j
Stupid me when I did the balance transfers ...I never included the fees:mad:
    my new totals are halifax....£2463.50
    mbna.....£4895.00
I'm just waiting for some money to come in and I'll pay some more off...I should have that in the next couple of days:D :D:D
I don't feel I've come very far ...but...on the other hand...I've cleared a large overdraft and have my tax and january bills covered!!...so guess that's not too bad afterall:cool:
Sorry for the ramble...I'm thinking as I'm writing:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
If I wasn't going on holiday...I know I'd definitely not get into the O/D ...I have my spends for that ...so it isn't that..
It's that being SE I have no earnings while off but still have to pay the bills...on the other hand pre LB moment I was looking at coming back to a£4,000 + overdraft...don't know what I'll come back to...lol...I feel guilty for having a holiday now but it was booked and paid for pre lightbulb moment...so hope I can enjoy myself
Well I've rambled enough now so will give you some peace...
  • Evening taxi!

SO glad your family are OK after the crash. God how awful, thank heavens it wasn't worse.

Hey hey hey, you have come quite a way in not such a long period of time you give yourself a well deserved pat on the back!

I *do* know what it is like though when you have the bit between your teeth. You've had the LB moment, you've made impact and you just want to do MORE, right here right NOW don't you?

Just remember this isn't a race and you do the best you can. You are not adding to debt and you are doing all the right things as well as physically paying off money, to try and avoid more debt in the future.

Anyway, whilst you've got us all for company - what's the rush, stick around.... :D

Thanks for that Lookingahead..I think I'm just a bit down as the shock of what could've happened to my family..so everything's out of proportion..just so glad they are ok..
You are right there is no rush!!...I don't normally panic about money...but have done since coming on here...:rotfl: :rotfl: I'm a bit annoyed with myself as I've got out of the O/D and will probably be back in it when I get back from holiday...if I hadn't booked the holiday ...I wouldn't be back in it again..lol...frustrating!!!...never mind I'll deal with that when it comes to it...don't worry I'll be here a long time annoying you all:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
  • Understandable that the crash has shaken you up. I hope you see them again soon and give them all big warm hugs.

Hey you're going on holiday....you just go and *enjoy* it. If you hadn't of booked it OK you might be better off but with nothing to look forward to.

It is a lovely relaxing break to prepare you for life back in the Western World where you will be working hard soon enough, to battle the debt down.

In an ideal world none of us would be in debt.

In the next to ideal world, those of us who are would never spend money on anything bar keeping the roof over our heads and bread & water let alone go on holiday even though we work 52 weeks a year.

There would also be no famine, war, rape, mugging, murder and disease.

Unfortunately it's not an ideal world so we do the best we can and we should enjoy the good times that come along.

Please don't dwell on your holiday or think of it as something you shouldn't have. It might be the last one for a while so relish it, savour every minute, every experience and come back with a hat full of memories.

You are so right LA...as usual..lol..so true everything you say is true...JJ has had lots of big hugs today from me and he gave them a run for their money at the hospital...he was off with the doctors light trying to look into everybodys eyes...he thought it was great fun and he loved the flashing lights on the ambulance...he'll be 2 on wednesday and he's my absolute little angel...he's so funny...he has everyone in stitches...lol...
The holiday I should look on as I deserve it as we work 6 days a week all year and the only time we have off is when we go on holiday...so I'm going to enjoy it...Goa here I come..lol
Thanks for the kind words you've put things into perspective!!!
