  • Hi there taxi.

Well you did a very good thing ringing to arrange to pay off MS in full each month so that's progress!

As for having any other mse thoughts at this time of year.....phooey. I think we're all struggling! Don't worry about it. As mizmir says just not increasing debt right now, is an achievement!

Keep focussing on the New Year, your holiday and then after your holiday as you will probably see the totals come tumbling down thereafter.

Merry Christmas hon - and be gentle with yourself OK?

    Hi everyone:hello:
I hope you all had a wonderful christmas:j :j :j I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at my daughters house...it was very edible...and I got drunk:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I usually only drink on my holidays!!
I've worked all over christmas and am looking forward to my day off tommorrow as I'm tired...it wasn't as busy as I'd thought it'd be but we're about £200 up...so all is not lost...if we can get a busy week this week we may be able to put some towards the bills when we're away on holiday(so we don't arrive back with a massive overdraft)...I have all my spends saved seperate but don't expect to spend them all.
I haven't spent any money the last few days...so that's good:T :T :T I also managed to sell my husbands gold chain for £1200 and my dining table for £50 to my son in law yesterday...how goods that!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: MSE christmas ...he's paying us next week when he picks them up....
Looking forward to my holiday:j :j :j :j not a lot to report again so will see you after

Hi everyone...well I've had a good day today...been into town and had lunch..£10 for two of us...didn't mean to spend that...but I've not been to town for ages ...so I treated us...only spent £30 of my boots points...got some pressies for next christmas...so still have £100 left on there...will spend that whenever...
Best of all got a phone call from the travel agent to say our tickets were there...so picked them up....now it really feels like we're going on holiday:j :j :j :j
Feeling really positive now christmas is out of the way...and I did it without credit cards :j :j :j :j
I've already decided I'm making hampers up for everybody...so that's sorted:D :D:D bought some lovely sets of soap and bath salts(with little Spoons)...half price at boots...so that starts them off:cool:
So I've had a lovely day..ahh well back to work again tommorrow:eek:  on the other hand I've a lovely bottle of wine in the fridge so may have to have that and take the day off!!!

Sorry ...I've not been about for a couple of days ...not a lot to report anyway..I've had a tummy bug or something and have been exhausted...so haven't even been to work..should be going back tommorrow...I hope everyone has had a good christmas and has a happy new year:beer:
  • Hi taxi. Just caught up with your diary. Sorry to read you have been poorly but I understand how you feel as I had tummy bug too. Hope you are on the mend very soon and can have a good New Year's Eve at work to set you up for 2007.

WOW did you really sell the chain for £1200?? That's fantastic. And the £50 for the furniture is useful too. Well done!

Hi LA...thanks for that...yes I did sell it for that but it's valuation is £2650!!..it's my hubbies money really but he's giving me £600 off it...my SIL popped £650 in today and will have the rest in a couple of days...I'm sorry to see it go but hubby is too scared to wear it in this day and age..which is a shame really so we decided to sell it...
  • Wow that's some valuation!

Yes it is a shame that in this day & age you can't even venture out of your own front door with your own possessions.

That said...try to keep in mind (if it helps at all) that it is simply a possession to be worn and, the money will help to be rid of debt and then hopefully you can have more super holidays or do actual "things" together which will bind you together with lovely memories more than a chain can do.

Which is spookily ironic considering the post I have just put on my Ramblings thread!! (I *promise* that was not a shameless plug - I am genuinely like this at the coincidence:  )
