Fantastic news about the energy bills Taxi :) Always a nice surprise...I save £60 a month for each, but like you had similar usage for the last bill :D I know it'll go up over winter, but I can use the savings for it.

I'm with British gas - need to use Uswitch to check it again. Will check with EDF as well!

  • Hi taxi - I am just having a catch up after the site problems.

Just wanted to say well done on everything you've achieved of late! :T

How long have you been on this site now? Must be over a year I think or very close to it if not. You've done so well.

Evening everyone....LA it was a year on the 26th october but we couldn't celebrate as the site was down. Thanks for that ..I really do feel that I'm getting somewhere now that I'm back at work and really want to pay Barclays CC off by christmas if possible....it'll be hard but would be proud of myself if I do....if I don't it won't be through lack of trying!!
Today has been a positive day...I received my cheque £50 from Tiscali...I also got my £20 of pigsback vouchers...so I have £30 now and will use them in burtons or topman to buy my sons a jumper or t-shirt each...christmas is nearly done now.I also went to morrisons and bought a bottle of vodka for the office staff £8..and a litre bottle of corvossier £21.99 for my SIL..so all I need now is to put money in my other sons account and to buy DH something and thats me done!!!
Next year I plan to have christmas for free as I'm now getting my fuel from Morrisons and using their little plastic card so that I get the £5 vouchers ...then whatever i get on pigsback etc....so everything is quite positive.
My MS CC is only £650 this month(I pay it off in full)...so this will leave more money in the bank as it has been very high the last 3 months £1700,£3200 and £1300...so it's really down ...these are mostly business expenses as well..so reclaimable...
I've also been doing well on the cab...so all is sweet at the moment...have a good weekend everyone xx
  • What a lovely happy post, taxi. Really glad that things are going so well for you at last. Congrats on the anniversary too:beer:, So much achieved in one short year:j .

By the way, what's the situation with the Morrisons card for petrol? I don't get to Morrisons much these days but all the rural petrol stations round here have closed down (thanks to giant Mr Tesco:mad: ) and I've stopped going there on principle. Probably cutting off my nose to spite my face as I have to use more petrol driving to a garage further away:o. If there's some sort of loyalty scheme at Morrison's it's worth the extra couple of miles. I suppose you use a lot of fuel though for the taxi so your savings will add up a lot quicker than mine would.

Have a profitable and happy weekend

Hi Taxi, I hope you are feeling better - just caught up with your last few posts and that reduction in your gas/electric is fantastic.

My monthly DD is £149  and I am desperately trying to get that down! I would love to be able to get it below £100 but all my efforts have so far been in vain!!

Ooh, very up feeling taxi, this sounds good. Like you, I feel that finding mse and coming here regularly has been a real lifesaver for me (okay, I always phrase it as dramatically as possible...) its turned things around in spite of a slightly gloomy financial situation.

Evening my friends...thanks for coming on in..all are welcome here...the more the merrier!!!
Imp regarding the morrisons card..you just pick one up at the garage..you don't have to sign anything or send it off or register it etc...and you get 1 1/2 points per litre then when you have 500 they hand you a £5 Morrisons voucher and your points carry on...they are handy to use for tioletries etc for hampers maybe...something for nothing...I too stopped using tesco when they put fuel up by 3p a litre when they were doing 3p off a litre when you spend £50 or more...so never fill there...I've been filling up at Asda and getting nothing for that so thought I'd go back to Morrisons who are the cheapest as well...we use between £120 and £300 per week in diesel...depending on how busy we are!!!!
Hypno...I do hope you get them out to look at your meters as there is something seriously wrong there...nobody can use that much electric in a month...it really does need investigation either that or the vompany are charging you rip off prices....
KC yes MSE is the best site ever and so helpful...don't know where I'd have been without it?
Take care everyone...by the way had a great take today again...yippee

Hi Taxi - I have 3000 and something points on the card and have not been given anything! Do you have to ask for the vouchers? OH could be mistaken about the points of course...

Popped into Blackpool today - it was so busy! Have you found it busier than normal or is it just as usual? I thought it was particularly busy - as did OH.

Glad to hear all is going well :)
