Fab news on the repayment front - that is some going! How are you, though - are you fully recovered now?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Hi taxi, you are doing really well repaying those debts. I always look at your tax savings figure with envy!
Sorry to hear you still have some discomfort. That does seem a long time to still be feeling the effects of the operation. Can you do any physiotherapy to help it heal?Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
...while in sainsburys I signed up to a new energy supplier and will get a load of points for that...they'll all go towards next christmas...
I am afraid I am a lurker rather than a regular poster but had to jump in here and say please be careful of this offer. I have been with Sainsburys energy(Scottish Power) for some time and was very pleased with the fuels bills over this time but the offer ran out. When I was approached in Sainsburys recently with the offer of another deal (they are now with EDF) I gladly signed up. I have since had a phone call from Scottish Power who obviously want me to stay with them and who told me that EDF are the dearest provider in my area. They said that Sainsburys put the offer to supply to tender and EDF offered to pay Sainsburys the most to be their supplier. So if this is correct Sainsburys haven't changed suppliers to get the best deal for their customers as they said but have changed suppliers because they made the most profit for themselves out of the deal. I decided to therefore stay with Scottish Power after all and they gave me £30 for doing so. I can't work out the comparison tables so I just hope I am doing the right thing. BTW my son found EDF expensive while he was with them which I did take into consideration. Also EDF is a French company.Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot. :think:0 -
Wow, taxi, what an achievement. No wonder you're feeling 'quite excited'! If I'd managed what you have I'd be on the roof shouting through a loud-hailer:rotfl:
I hope your discomfort rights itself very soon, it must be making your job difficult for you. It sounds as if you are very busy work-wise so try to have a bit of relaxation(not too much housework for instance;) ) on your days off. And when you come home aching after a day in the cab please try to snatch a bit of 'feet-up' time. You'll probably be very, very busy over Christmas and New Year and we don't want you falling ill again:eek: .
Hugs

Morning everyone...thanks for the replies...thanks Ches...I'd already changed my mind and am staying with Scottish power as my bills are cheap with them...they were only £66 for electric and £33 for gas for the last quarter..and I'm in £126 credit and only pay £64p/m in total...so don't think that can be beat...ironically EDF phoned me yesterday to check that I wanted to go with them and I said no...so thats sorted. That is really useful information though...so thanks for that.
Imp and Seax ...I think the aches are probably normal and might me because I'm fat(especially belly)...gravity and all that!!!...my tax savings haven't gone up in ages but I will sort this years and will def put money away every single week for the next one as I'm sick of worrying each year...and I still don't know how much we owe yet...the accountant promised to let me know by this weekend gone and when that happened has promised for this weekend...but if all fails the cab is working 24/7 for christmas week so will get it that way...it's not going on the CC this year..Imp I do have feet up time...thanks...my body can cope with work just about but about the only housework I do at the minute is the washing and washing up...my house is a mess ...DH hoovers but not much else gets done...I will do it when I'm feeling fitter...it's my day off today so am going to chill out today...have a good day everyone xx0 -
Well this is turning into a good day as I've just checked my online gas/electric bills and I'm £176 in credit and they are reducing my DD to £45.50 from 1st december...thats a £19.50 p/m saving and I'm so happy with that. They are the cheapest firm I've ever been with...thats £45.50 p/m includes gas and electric usage..when they set it at £64 p/m I thought that wouldn't have been enough to cover the bills...so really chuffed...shows what a rip off the other firms are.the readings are correct as well as I've put them in when requested.
Wonder whether I can have any more nice things happen today....lol...0
