Evening all...can't sleep at the moment so am going to spend an hour on here!!!!
I have definitely decided to go Sunday as I think I need to just chill so that I'm in the right frame of mind...the only thing I will do tomorrow is a little bit of shopping...apart from that I'm going to de-stress...
I've been that stressed I forgot to cancel that Scarlet subscription and have had the money come out of the bank yesterday!!!
Going back to driving the taxi..luckily I drive days my DH gets stuck with the nights as I can't do with drunks...I'll be alright when I get back...I've had to get the paperwork out to remember how to work the system...only the CC machine and meter to look up now but will do those tomorrow DH can show me those..I'm nervous about going back but guess I'll soon settle back in but am taking it easy for the first couple of weeks as DH says don't worry about the earnings just concentrate on the system...but..it will be nice to earn decent money again and really get down to some serious debt-busting...
LA it's a pity you don't live nearer as I would've welcomed your efforts as this wonderful present DH bought me has cost me loads of time, energy and money!!!
I'm def not expecting to do much at work to start with so won't be disappointed and I have an appointment at 4pm on monday with the guy from the job centre about my £200 ...I've just got to take some paperwork in ..petrol receipts...accountants letter etc...so will be sorted soon

Eeps at forgetting to cancel the Scarlett subscription - at least though you will have some "interesting" reading matter this month!!

I hope you have a good relaxing day, and manage to de-stress nicely.

Morning Taxi, I hope you got a good night's sleep.

Good luck with going back to work, I hope you can ease yourself in gently. I don't blame you not working nights, I couldn't stand to drive drunks around either. It must be the worst thing about the job.

  • Good Morning, taxi.

I think you're spot on waiting until tomorrow to go back to work. Sundays are possibly quieter taxi-wise anyway.

I agree with Seaxwyn on the horror of driving drunks around. I'd be appalled if they 'threw up' in my lovely new taxi. I used to transport my neighbour's 2 young children to various places for a couple of months when she was too heavily pregnant to squeeze behind her steering-wheel and they were both travel sick however slowly/carefully I drove:eek: . The smell of the 'sick' lingers forever, I swear I can still smell it in the car 2 years after I last drove them anywhere:eek: and I've used every preparation known to man to clean the interior of the car. With drunks it must be even worse:confused: . I hope your poor OH doesn't have too much hassle with them.

Have a great relaxing day and evening.

Morning all my lovely DFW friends...hope you are all well....I had quite a good nights sleep..thanks....it's lovely that you are all supportive and I thankyou for that as well....it's quite nerve wracking going back to work after so long off!!!!..so...really appreciate the support.
I'm not doing much today(I haven't even got dressed yet)...I've done some washing and hung it on the line and I could do with getting some shopping after if I can be bothered...it's not desperate anyway...so will see later....
I've made my float up and found my badge and read the data head instruction sheet so am part way there....my trousers are washed and dry ready for work and when DH gets up I will check to see if my T shirts and sweatshirts are in my wardrobe as sometimes DH wears them for work...we have to wear a uniform....and he likes to wear my polo shirts and sweatshirts as they are bigger!!!!
That Scarlet thing is annoying as I haven't even read the first one and have no interest in it!!!!!...won't forget next time I do something like that!!!
DH is used to the drunks and has a lot more patience than me and luckily they are not sick often hope I'm not tempting fate there!!!!.....I'm itching to earn loads of dosh but know that it's more sensible to take it easy...DH says it doesn't matter if I don't earn much to start with as long as I get used to the car and systems and that I can concentrate on earning more later on!!!!!
Hope you all have a good weekend take care xxxx

It's that old "Learn to walk before you start running" thing, and he's exactly right.

HI ZTD...LOL...don't I know it...yes...he's right...it's def me as I do need to walk before I can run...it's my fault once I start if I'm not bringing in top dollar I feel I'm not working hard enough as poor DH works his little socks off...it's all this debt if I live frugally as I do now I can use most of what I earn to clear the debts off....but I guess a couple more weeks isn't long in the grand scheme of things really.I really want to clear the 0% debt before they end yet have all my tax money by the time it's due in jan so that I don't have to use my o/d to pay it...I did work out a budget on my old figures but couldn't really afford to put that much away.

Your husband sounds like a real treasure, taxi. He sounds so kind and caring not just about your well-being but for buying you that laptop too.

If you ever get tired of him and fancy a change please send him here;) . I doubt you'd be interested in a swap for my DH, 10 minutes with him and you'd be tired of his moaning and meanness and would send him right back  . That's partly why I'm in such debt....he never spends anything and everything I've ever needed/wanted for the home I've had to buy myself. Sometimes I admit I've gone a bit over the top with that:o but I always earned a good salary and felt I deserved to have some comfort at home as I worked damn hard for it. It's surprising what a reduced income does for putting that idea out of my head:eek: . Of course, DH being such a skinflint and misery-guts I've never been able to tell him about my debts and it's caused me such anxiety over the past few years that I needed anti-depressants. Luckily I found MSE and am getting myself sorted. It's thanks to the inspiration of people like you and hypno and all the others whose diaries I read that I feel I'm back in control of my life rather than the debts controlling me, although I still have a lot to clear yet!

Sorry about hi-jacking your diary. Just felt like having a rant:o .
    Take care

Hi Impompdasp, you're right, Mr Taxi sounds like a total treasure, i often feel a bit jealous when I read about him. Perhaps taxi could clone him for us. Or does he have any brothers?

Poor you being married to a misery-guts. (My OH is not flavour of the month either.) Have you thought of starting your own diary as it's lovely what support you get from other MSE-ers, and it sounds like you need some friendly support.

  • Thanks for the kind words Seaxwyn, I really appreciate it.

It's never occurred to me to start my own diary as I can't imagine anyone would be interested in reading anything I'd have to say in it, although it might be good for sending any insomniacs on here off to sleep:rotfl:. I think I'll just stick to posting in my favourites such as this one for now. It's surprising how I keep bumping into the same people whichever one I read. Great minds eh?;)

    Take care
