I agree purple is a popular colour but there are so many shades that it can still be unique and personal on the day
I'm not too worried, most folks don't go to that many weddings so are unlikely to think 'what! more purple bridesmaids'
And it also means that should I decide to sell all my purple parapenalia I'll have a bigger market!'0 -
Mine is purple too. My bridesmaids are in purple and we all have purple shoes. Going to have purple gladioli flowers for decorations and purple roses for my bouquet. Am slightly worried that almost half the folks that have replied to this thread are having purple too. I'm feeling rather common

we decided on our cadburys purple theme years ago and i might have had a small bridezilla strop when it suddenly got popular!
but the others are right, there are so many shades... even completely different colours all claiming to be cadburys, so it wont look like anyone elses0 -

Hot pink, dark green and white.
Hot pink cos I love it.
Dark Green cos we've a farming theme going on and our reception is surrounded by dark green wheat on the day.
White - cos most of my marquee is going to be white so it was a no brainer!0 -

I went for blue-ish...! That meant everything from teal through to purple - it meant I didn't have to bother getting an exact shade (we didn't have lots of time) and as everything was slightly different it all went together. Decided on that colour as my step-daughter wanted a turqoise dress...(however, she ended up in a sparkly silvery one as that is the only one we found that she liked - she doesn't do 'girly', but was still sold on sparkly!).0

ours is olive green, ivory and a touch of gold, my mum works with old people and when they asked her what colour bridesmaid dresses i was having they all turned their noses up at olive green! haha i guess its not traditional or girly x0

Wow loads of fab colour combos coming out! Thanks everyone!
I'm now thinking plum (very dark purple), cream and a hint of gold (to go with my gold engagement ring!)
I'm hoping to have a light cream coloured dress as white is too harsh on my skin and I am aiming for 'warm' tonesBetty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....
