My DH does nothing in the run up except buy my present, he does help with wrapping a little by sticking his finger on the present to hold the paper in place. Christmas eve he always checks the presents for necessary batteries and puts them in so they work straight away, he puts the decs up as I am too short to reach the ceiling and I don't do ladders but I have to tell him where to place them. Christmas Day he always puts a fresh pot of coffee on and clears all the wrapping paper away into a bin bag. This year he will have to help out more as my eldest daughter who was my right arm has left home.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

I'm not entirely convinced there is ONE! Is this a wind-up TNG or do you really do all of that?

Have you noticed the deafening "silence" in response to my request for other men to tell us what they do? Can't they even be bothered to respond, or are there just no takers? I bet the women "chatting" here are racing about "doing Christmas" interspersed with the occasional quick post on this thread (to help them feel that they're not alone in their tasks) - and the men we're talking about are in the pub (as usual!) :D

Well, my man is great! Although we do end up arguing as he wants to do things and so do I! He buys all the mens pressies and I buy all the ladies although this year I am bit more organised due to getting the gift baskets together.

I have just managed to get around to me doing the monthly shopping as he always wanted to do it! I love doing it :) We will both go out and do the Christmas shopping. We are getting up early this Saturday to go into Frasers in Glasgow to take our boys to see Santa and then going for a Christmas lunch and then coming home to all of us putting up the Christmas decorations to Christmas music:) His suggestion before he went on night shift tonight.

He loves Christmas and loves the build up to it and everything to do with it. Nothing is too much bother.

Don't get me wrong, I wanted to murder him at the weekend!! He is a man after all ;)

  • Not claiming to be the new male or anything but I do it all as well - mostly online buying of gifts - organisiing all the fund distribution (who gets what and how much) - sorting out whos visiting and who to visit thus arranging transport - on the big day all the cooking as Im by far the best cook (head swelling) and most of the clearing up. Leaving OH to look after the little ones although I will be called on to chastise if alls not well - so no not all men get it easy and I wouldnt have it any other way (kind of enjoy it really). Its all about whos good at what in our house. Just gotta find a way to get the older kids to wash up and alls well.

The reason EVERYTHING gets done by the women (me and daughters) in our family is because thats the only way we can be sure everything gets done PROPERLY and nothing is forgotten:rotfl:
