    :naughty:  :naughty:

Most men wouldn't know the meaning of hard work if it got up and bit 'em! :D

Good! She should clock you 'round the ear too and make you get up off your lazy backside and help her! :D

Well my DH has kindly offered to 'help' wrap presents, but I'll believe it when I see it! I wrote our cards yesterday and it was such a hassle to get to even write just 1 to his friend, using the lame excuse that he didn't know how to spell their name! The only thing he got excited about was when we went to buy the Christmas food yesterday, then he wanted a full input!

So in answer to the question is a definite No!

I couldnt stand back and watch him do it, id be itching to take over!
He wants the decorations up sooner than i do, and will help, but i give instruction. He's good a peeling potatoes without assistance!
This year he seems aware of what needs doing for my xmas prezzies after manyn hints and explanations why the last years was so bad!!
Xmas is full of attention to detail that i think the female mids work better. How many men could be decorating the tree, while making the xmas shopping list in their head and running through a mental checklist of who's having what.......as hard as my man tries he'd fail!

Just a thought only because my hubby does nowt at Christmas.

    Kind regards X X

Christmas is like any other day and we split it 50/50. The way I see it my wife should be able to enjoy christmas just as much as me.

Maybe time you traded him in?
    Regards,

My DH must be a saint compared to this lot! Although he doesn't do any of the cooking, that's because the kitchen is MY empire, and woe betide anyone who enters when I am cooking unless asked to do so! He does come with me buying pressies, and his eyes don't go dim every time I need help with picking out a present for someone. He helps with the decorations, and he still does most of the laundry, empties the dishwasher, most of the hoovering, and any other odd jobs that might occur. Like kneading dough. I just hate that. So I either get him to do it, or I get a pair of latex gloves. That's as far as anyone will get in my kitchen - kneading the dough. I know - I'm a control freak when it comes to my kitchen.

Our twin DDs still have stockings at 31 and my dear Oh insisted early on that each individual little stocking thing should be wrapped (they weren't in my childhood home), and we would sit up late on Dec 24th wrapping tiny things in last year's ironed Xmas paper - until the Dec 24th a few years ago when (this a man who has never had a headache in his life) he developed a migraine and retired to bed, leaving me in a sea of small presents and wrapping paper scraps, cursing way into the night. He does absolutely nothing except get decos down from loft (ladder not safe for girlies) and put up (but not decorate) tree. One year he developed a 'back problem' and spent all Xmas on the floor. We went out on Boxing day and left him with turkey sandwiches, a bottle of wine and and an old milk carton (for emergencies as of course he couldn't get to loo without 3 sturdy women helping him). He doesn't think about, buy or pay for any of the presents (not even mine - DDs do that now) nor any of the food. His style of carving makes the lovingly cooked bird look like a traffic accident, which enrages me, and he is displeased when I fall asleep on the sofa and refuse to wash up. Also I have newly become allergic to potatoes (yeah, what's that about I keep wondering) so have to peel them in latex gloves; he always promises to do it but is never there at the right time. Why do we put up with this ? I must say that if it weren't for the stiff drinks I have after lunch it might well not be a day of total goodwill in our house as I collapse exhausted. Thank goodness for lovely DDs.

Wow, where did that all come from ? I do like this thread as it has enabled me to let off steam I didn't realise I was harbouring, and I will now get it done differently this Xmas - thanks, nice people. (and please will TNG write a little leaflet about 'How to have a merry Xmas' for all the lazy blokes out there to read.)
