I am in between the TTC thread and the Waiting thread LOL. I haven't got AF but I haven't not got AF. I've been spotting for 4 days now! My boobs are stinging like buggggggggery.

Taking my FA every day now. Trying to eat my 5 a day and do a bit of exercise every day. Started to try (haha) and go to bed earlier. I'm such a night bird ...

Any chance you're already preggers? Have you tested?

Has anyone started to prepare their bodies in advance of TTC??

I am on the build up to do this but so far am stuck in the rut of 'can't be arsed' and could do with motivation/shaming of others into doing something! I am still the child-less nightmare of no breakfast, junk food, frozen meals and dun, dun, dun.....smoking! Smoking is a no-brainer and am really trying to change my ways but eating wise does anyone have any advise on what to eat, considering we are not dieting but preparing our bodies for a bloody big task??

Hope you guys are with me on never being too prepared, as I started thinking seriously about TTC in Sept '10 and here we are at the precipice of July '11!!!

I've started my preparation today! I've started a few times before, then given up. :o But watching Embarrassing Fat Bodies last night has shamed me into starting properly. And seeing pictures of myself on Facebook last week...

I'm hoping to lose a bit of weight before conceiving although when I saw the nurse last week she said not to worry about it too much (eg don't crash diet) and just to eat more healthily and exercise.

So I started the day by going for a walk before breakfast. I'm going to try to exercise every other day if I can.

I already eat regular meals plus snacks :o but I need to cut down on the junk and eat more fruit and veg. I'm going to try for my five a day. Also, DH is buying me some folic acid today.

Was going to buy some at the weekend but thought I'd make sure my smear results were ok first, and they came back clear yesterday. :)

Had a shock this morning though when the doctor's surgery rang me to say it was about my swab results from last week (got tested for STDs just in case, although was pretty certain I didn't have anything) I thought 'oh my god I've got chylamydia!' but apparently the doctor's prescribed something for thrush. Thank god for that! :rotfl: I didn't even realise I had it though, which is a bit strange! Sorry if that's TMI. :o

There's an article here suggesting what to eat: http://www.goodtoknow.co.uk/family/142797/Eat-to-get-pregnant

Not sure about going organic myself. What do you ladies think?

I try not to have too much caffeine at the moment as that'll be restricted if I conceive. The doctor told me to cut down on cheese, that is going to be a test! :o

Sorry, been waffling there, hope something is of interest/help! :o:rotfl:

The secret, with both healthy eating and dieting, is to prepare as much of the food as possible yourself. Easier said than done, I know.

That's another thing the nurse said last week - to have more home-made food. :)

Nah shouldn't be unless my temps on holiday lied to me!! Had rumpy on the 3rd day post ovulation. I was suspecting it from Mon-Weds. So if it doesn't turn up tomorrow I will be "worrying". And getting tests in. I've not even got any or ever used one lol.

euronorris - nicked your idea of cereal bar and actimel (but Aldi version) for breakfast, thanks! Can't give up my lunch of cheese and onion sandwiches and crisps just yet!

Lily_the_Legend - Embarrasing Bodies always makes me laugh - how embarrasing is for them if they're prepared to broadcast it on telly! :rotfl:

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this, (sorry if anyone has) but thought to mention there is a free App on android called My Days! (saving it for my time!) Dead simple calendar to calculate AF, best fertile times, temps and so on. Even a code for days when you have had sex, so I can prove to DH that he is getting enough! :rotfl::rotfl:

Think I might be lurking on here a bit! Married in January this year and both feeling broody! Would be going for it now but being sensible and finishing some big home improvements first (kitchen needs doing up including new boiler) and so if things go to plan will start TTC in early 2012.
