Hi Ladies,
How is everyone today? I hope it's cooled down whereever you may be (unless it was already cold and you want some heat! lol). It's only just starting raining here, and looks like we won't get a storm now, which is kinda annoying as it is soooo hot and humid still! My apartment was 32.5 when I got home yesterday!!!!!!
I do get jealous of others falling pregnant, but it varies from day to day. Sometimes I wanna cry and tell OH that we need to start NOW, and others it's just a pang of jealousy and I am able to be logical about it. I guess it varies with the different levels of hormones during the month. But I am glad that both my sister and sister in law are doing well.
Also found out that one of my closest friends plans to start trying next year also. I knew she really wanted kids, and was waiting for things to be better financially, but didn't realise we would be trying at the same time. So that's really kinda lovely, I think.
As for eating in this heat, I am useless at it. I opted for crackers last night as the thought of preparing anything else was too energetic or heat inducing! Pfff, crackers it is then! lolFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Hiya!
I am not too bad on the jealously front-I think it's cos I'm still scared at the thought of the responsibility of having a child :rotfl:!
When I do feel a bit "when's it's my turn?" I just try to think about the freedom we have at the moment and how we'll have to curb that when the babes come along!0 -
Hi all,
Please can I join? My OH and I plan to try for a baby from March 2012, so hopefully due around Dec 2012/Jan 2013 if all goes well (i'm well aware it might not...)
We've given ourselves 18 months until the birth as ideally I want us to have saved £4050 to allow us to "pay me" an extra £450/month on top of the SMP I will receive for the 9 months I plan to be off, just to help top us up with mortgage, bills etc.
So my total is £4,050 to save. Have saved £350 so far, so £3700 still to go in 18 months (78 weeks) which is £48 a week. I put this away each Friday into my savings account. Its nice to see it building up.
Can't wait to be a mum

Ah, it was rubbish when all that kicked off (and again), but it happens on most threads at some point or another and it seems to have died off again now. I hope the ladies that left are happy where they ended up, and that new folk will still feel welcome to join in over there too. We're not all argumentative hormonal wrecks...well, we might be, but it's hard work this TTC lark y'know
Zippy is right 99.999999% of the time it's lovely over there -everyone is amazingly supportive. It's just the nature of a thread about such an emotional subject that sometimes things get a bit "heated".
Don't let it put any of you off coming over when you are ready to TTC it is honestly a lovely thread.:)

Hi Moneypuddle
I'm trying to save up money for when I'm on mat leave too, I was hoping to have about £500/month, but I've knocked it down to £400/month-but if it takes some time, then who knows, I might be able to save for £600/month!!

Has anyone started to prepare their bodies in advance of TTC??
I am on the build up to do this but so far am stuck in the rut of 'can't be arsed' and could do with motivation/shaming of others into doing something! I am still the child-less nightmare of no breakfast, junk food, frozen meals and dun, dun, dun.....smoking! Smoking is a no-brainer and am really trying to change my ways but eating wise does anyone have any advise on what to eat, considering we are not dieting but preparing our bodies for a bloody big task??
Hope you guys are with me on never being too prepared, as I started thinking seriously about TTC in Sept '10 and here we are at the precipice of July '11!!!:eek:0 -
I am in between the TTC thread and the Waiting thread LOL. I haven't got AF but I haven't not got AF. I've been spotting for 4 days now! My boobs are stinging like buggggggggery.
Taking my FA every day now. Trying to eat my 5 a day and do a bit of exercise every day. Started to try (haha) and go to bed earlier. I'm such a night bird ...0 -
Lillibit, I am the same.
I want to eat as healthy as possible, but I have weaknesses. Still trying to kick diet coke! And smoking still happens occasionally.
Eating, I'm aiming more for healthy and nuritious meals, than I am for losing weight also. I'm great with breakfast and lunch, but fall down at the dinner hurdle! OH is awful at breakfast though, so I pack him off with an Actimel and an apple biscuit thing in the mornings which he eats on way to work. It's not great, but it's better than nothing.
The secret, with both healthy eating and dieting, is to prepare as much of the food as possible yourself. Easier said than done, I know.
This is what I've had so far today:
Breakfast - Cruesli with semi skimmed milk (I don't measure amounts - just enough to fill me up)
Lunch - Egg salad sandwich on wholegrain bread with a strawberry yoghurt and a large banana
Afternoon snack - Apple
Drinks - Water, black tea, 1 can of diet coke, 1 can of fanta (was supposed to be orange juice but I wasn't paying attention when I picked it up and then didn't notice until I took the first sip! lol)
I am thinking about doing a big chicken salad for dinner, but will have to add some bacon bits and cheese to OH's one otherwise it won't fill him up. But it depends on how hot our apartment is when I get home to be honest. Here's hoping it's cool (not likely - sun is back out and it's 30+ again!).
If you're a fan of frozen meals, you could always do some batch cooking at the weekend, freeze portions of it, and then eat it during the week.February wins: Theatre tickets0
