Do you ever read through threads and think of what you would reply to then believe that you have replied when you haven't?! Totally did that the last few days! Baby brain already?!

It's nice seeing people move over from the wedding boards to the baby boards, I miss seeing a lot of the familiar names every day! I do still pop on for a nosey and to stick my oar in sometimes... I just can't let go!

Has anyone else got their shortlist of names already picked out? We've been discussing it for a couple of years, turns out OH is terribly old fashioned when it comes to girls names and pretty much refuses to believe that most names that aren't along the Catherine/Elizabeth/Mary line i.e. very traditional, aren't real names! Which is funny because mine's an odd one and if I suggested it he'd think I was taking the mickey! We had an argument about whether or not I was just making up words when I suggested Evelyn! :rotfl: I was a bit annoyed when I mentioned my top girls name (of the moment at least!) to a friend and she said, 'Oooh no, I don't like that'... pah, whatever happened to just keeping your mouth shut and saying, 'Oh...' Going to call my girl that just to spite her now! ;) I have learnt my lesson about keeping my opinions to myself when baby names are discussed, my old manager was bouncing names around when she was pregnant and I told her that one of the names was awful, pleeeeeease don't call him that! Guess which name she went for?! :rotfl:
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Birdie you should tell him the Evelyn is just as old as Catherine/Elizabeth etc it's from the 17th century :D I'm with your OH I love traditional names...just a shame the boys names tend to be either boring or taken by other members of my family:p On the subject of names obviously DD is Charlotte(hence Lottie;)) but we also liked Adelaide and before you think it's a modern name after the Ozzie city..it's not! Apparently it's originally german and dates back to c.1700 was made commonly known by queen adelaide...they the linky has more info on the name...sorry but I love to research stupid inane stuff:o:o Boys names we were rubbish at but quite modern by the girls standards I think...we had Isaac and Daniel but w weren't convinced with either of them, lucky we had a girl really:rotfl:
Oh and my boss is like yours Birdie.....they named his little boy Gruffyd..poor kid! I still haven't used his name and he's 3 months old:rotfl:I refer to him as baby or little one:p

That's nothing - I know someone who has a daughter named Ocean! (Hope she's not on here .....;))

I like pretty names for girls and have a few picked out ready but not many boy's names.

  • We have our list of names but we're not telling anyone what they are - our top girl's name was 'stolen' by my brother for their daughter!

We're also struggling with boys' names
Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP
(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)

I keep coming up with slightly "out there" names for our children such as Star or Rainbow. My plan is that when we give them slightly "unusual" names, our friends & family will think "at least it's not Tinkerbell" or the like!!
But I am like you COMP-I won't tell anyone the names I really like!
Oh, and I do mean I like, I think it will be a miracle if DH and I ever agree on a name :rotfl: I can get him to agree to a certain degree of outlandishness (Milo is ok) but he has a limit (Storm is NOT ok) but maybe it's a good thing if he reigns me in a little :o!!

I'm exactly the same- my Best Friend used mine for her daughter. It was 13 years ago now though so I'm over it .... honest! ;)

Let's face it the poor girl is unlikely to be prime minister. It's the sort of name I imagine an owner of a shop that sells tarot and inscense! :rotfl::rotfl:

I don't have many. I like George and William.

I like two boys name's and one girl's name. My top boy's name was used by my ex to name his son! (I'm still friends with him on FB). I wonder now if we both spoke about that name. Anyway, it won't put me off using the name too. :)

Meant to say, I took my first folic acid last night! :j

Also, went for another walk this morning. And I managed to eat healthily yesterday. :)

I'm going to go for another walk this lunchtime as long as it doesn't rain otherwise I'll get wet feet...
