    Wow £50 well done :)

Nothing to report here just counting down!! Just well...waiting! to TTC! lol

Have worked out when my AF *should* arrive (1st July) so will wait with bated breath to see if my body goes back to normal after 8 years on the pill!!!

    Hope everyone is well x

Hi, just thought I would comment on your post. I was on the pill for 12 years so longer than you but I am on CD72 since coming off the pill. So please dont worry if yours doesnt arrive when you think it will.

I have had blood tests and I am absolutely fine and the doc said it will be here when its ready! :o

What a great idea for a thread! I've been lurking for a few weeks but would now like to join in if you'll have me! :o

I got married in February and OH and I are now very broody and ready to start a family. I'm very surprised by how keen he is TBH, before we got married he kept saying, 'One day... when I'm 30... or maybe later...', now he can't wait that long and keeps getting giddy about the thought of having a baby (he's convinced we're having a boy!) so we've decided to start trying after/on (???) our belated honeymoon in September! :j

I'm not sure what to do with regards to coming off the pill (I'm on a mini-pill, Cerazette), shall I come off it now to give my body time to get back to normal or wait until after the honeymoon? I've got a couple of worries about coming off the pill beforehand, namely what if we're extremely lucky and it happens straight away; we've spent ages planning and saving for our honeymoon in Orlando and I don't want it to be ruined by feeling ill and being scared to ride the rollercoasters just in case, and I'm also worried about my cycle, I don't want to be 'on' whilst I'm there so I'm all achey and grouchy! But it seems like a waste of 2 weeks worth of 'honeymooning' (;)) when we could possibly make a honeymoon baby... Argh, I just don't know what to do!

Hey RebecahR & Legalblonde, I should be not far behind you both, I have stopped taking the pill this month so shall hopefully have a real af in the first week of July and then we are all set... its scary but I'm actually really excited to get af again, I feel like I'm 15 and its my first one!!
I bought some folio acid but I'm too nervous to take it, will have to get up the courage this week!
It's nice to know there's other people at the same place, I haven't told anyone but I'm normally terrible at keeping exciting things to myself, I'm trying hard to just confide here rather than let anyone know!

Welcome Birdie85, nice to meet you! That's a difficult one, I'm not sure how id feel about rollercoasters pregnant but maybe find out from your gp how long its recommended to be off the type of pill you are taking?if its only a month I would recommend enjoying your holiday first and being able to eat drink and do what you fancy, you can always count the day you come home as the beginning of a new chapter and ttc from there?

I was on cerazette and dont recall it taking long to get back to 'normal' cycles. We started trying before our wedding so that we didnt have to wait too long after and I had something to occupy myself with :rotfl: I feel the first month but suffered an early miscarriage, I then got pregnant again the next month. I was 3 months pregnant when we got married and had horrendous morning sickness so I was desperate to get home and in some way it did ruin the day !

Thinking back at the timescale it must have only taken 2 months at the most to get my cycles back,

I took my first folic acid today it did feel quite monumental lol. Birdie I was in the same boat as you, wanted to get off the pill but want to drink etc on honeymoon. A lovely poster on here suggested coming off the pill now for my body's sake, and using other protection (condoms) until we are ready. I came off pill on 31st May and we have been taking other precautions, a bit of a pain you might not want to do, but it is amazing to feel I am getting my body back and any side effects etc will get out of the way before we actively start TTC and having to use protection now might make the wedding night feel extra special IYSWIM, sorry if TMI!
Nice to see you here Birdie I followed your wedding with interest x

Well I had some left over vitamins with iron in the bathroom and i've been taking them for the past 2 months. A-to use them up! B-because i've not eaten the best all the time so to get my body in a better condition.
I did wonder about the all in 1 with folic. But tbh they are too expensive i'll just make sure I am taking in my 5 a day from here on wards.
Women never used to take folid acid and were ok. Some people never taken it and were ok. So i'll be find with just taking it 4 weeks before i'm sure :-) I'm not over 35 or high risk otherwise prob would take it sooner.

RebekahR-from what I can understand, the folic acid is to help the development of tubey things in the feotus, which develop in the first 9 weeks, I don't think it's anything to do with how old you are etc..so make sure you take that folic acid!! ;)

I think its partly to do with age of the mother also and birth defects. The older the lady the more chance of defects thats the sort of angle I was putting forward there. But yes your right too :)

Tubey things LOL! Love it ;-)

Thanks for the welcome and the advice :)

I think I might speak to my doctor and find out what they recommend I do about the pill, we can use other protection until we're ready to start trying but I really don't want my honeymoon to be ruined by AF! Urgh, it's a hard job being a woman!

LOL at the Folic Acid fears! If I want to start trying in September shall I start taking it now or give it a little longer? I have much to learn about TTC, been trying not to get too into it yet in case OH gets freaked out! He's always nicking my vitamins so I'll have to make sure that he definitely leaves my folic acid alone! :rotfl:

Thanks for following my wedding plans LegalBlonde, it seems like an age ago now! :)
