Hi euro, I had severe nausea for all but 2 weeks of my pregnancy. I was never sick but still didn't feel like eating. I developed pelvic girdle pain at 12 weeks - unusual for a 1st pregnancy apparently and was on crutches by 27 weeks. Never felt anything like it! Dizzy spells, headaches, etc (all of which I've had before so could cope with that). I also developed a case of PUPPP which essentially was an intensely itchy rash that started 5 days before he was born and was there for 7-8 weeks afterwards. It was on every stretch mark I had on my lower stomach and legs and itch was horrendous!. Apparently it starts in the 3rd trimester and should go away when the baby is born! Not for me!

I make it sound awful and for me it was but there are many women who have had it much worse so I felt bad (then and now) when I talk about it. (there are also many who sail through it so no worrying!!).

TO be honest with you, I am currently sat on my sofa with a happy healthy 8 month old who has just had a feed and is fast asleep (finally!) and it makes it all worthwhile. I wouldn't change the long time we waited for him, the MMC, the rough pregnancy, birth recovery or anything else for all the world. When I think of the women who struggle every day to have a baby (and I was one of them for a while) then I stop feeling sorry for myself.

In fact have been very broody recently and even though I didn't like being pregnant (only cos of all the pain I was in) I would do it all again tomorrow in a heartbeat. Now I just have to convince DH that we're not getting any younger and that its a good idea to have a small age gap between siblings!!:p

I think you may be right. An epidural needs to be done a certain amount of time before I think. I'm sure one of the more c-section clued up ladies will fill us in. :)
Um not sure if it's anything to do with speed.....I was 9cm dilated when they realised bubs was breach and I got an epidural, admittedly it was within 5 mins of me saying yes to a section, nowt like having 5 people strip your clothes of you while trying to wheel you out of the room:eek:

    LINKY for the medically curious:D

Nepthys your pregnancy sounds troublesome! I think I remember you posting about the itchiness?? I agree anything is completely worth it and so long as bubs is healthy I'm sure we'd go through anything:D

I was the polar opposite of you:o worse things I had to contend with was heartburn, chocolate made me sick, a few stretch marks(from around 32wks+ ) and a long baby who played my ribs like a xylophone:D for me the hard part was the birth and even that wasn't my fault:p

Aw Fuzz - I think I would have given up if chocolate had made me sick! And I never got heartburn. Funny how we're all so completely different. Mind you the world would be very boring if we were all the same.

And it probably was me with the itchy skin - I scratched so much it bled :( - v sore but it did go away and I got me a cute little chunky monkey to keep! :T

It's really interesting to hear everyone's stories, I know I will panic when there's a little one growing inside me for real but we'll have 9 months to adjust, it doesn't happen over night or all at once.

Saying that I had a terrible dream at the weekend that I had a baby that weighed two stone and I couldn't lift it, then I dreamed I went for a walk and I had to go running back cause I didn't know if I'd had a boy or a girl!!

    Evening ladies,

A big hello to all newbies!! :hello::hello::hello:

Just about caught up on the thread I think! C-section stories especially scary!!!

Thank you all who have sent their thoughts to me re best friend and her angel baby, hope I've thanked everyone individually too. She is amazing, so so strong, I think they'll try again pretty soon so hopefully her dreams of a family are just around the corner. She may even join us all when we graduate to the ttc and preg boards!

Not really any wttc developments for me, cd13 for me, still hoping to do the opk's and record predicted ovulation to keep a track of. Am using "womanlog" app on iphone- just the free version which I think is enough for now.
The b*tch of it is my cycles which have been erratic as heck for the last year or so 28-48+ days seem to have settled down to 28-30 days. This is fantastic if it remains like this for ttc but means AF will be due when I see Take That later this month. Nevermind!

On the weightloss front- one of my reasons for waiting to try- joined weight watchers online 9th May and have lost 9lbs to date so that's fab.:j I'm really tall though so probably won't really notice until a stone or so is lost.

Right, must go and dry my hair then DH and I are going to try and exterminate a wasps nest that's on a wishing well right beside our front door. Must get the "My Girl" visions out of my head!!! Arrrrrggggghhhhhhhhh

Thought I'd do my first "proper" post now I've been added to the main page :D

All these stories of C-Section and birthing make me

At least I know I have a good 2 years before I need to worry myself though as we're going through specialists at the moment and reckon It'll be 12 months + before we actively TTC ...

I have to admit, I get very broody seeing other people's babies though! Envious? Me? Never!!!! :rotfl:

I love the second pic-the pondering look!! Love the last pic too, what a cutie!
I've just been trying to imagine what it will be like having one of those as MY responsibility...gulp _pale_ again!!
Must really start convincing myself it is going to happen (after yrs of convincing myself I'd never find a man, so would be single and childless all my life :o) and look forward to it!
