Hope everyone is having a good day, and hugs to those who need it.

I was chatting to OH last night about our situ of when to start our own family and decided that I am going to come off the pill after we get married early next Jan and go from there :j I will be saving like mad this year for the wedding and house deposit and then continue saving the deposit next year and when/if we do get lucky then we will stop saving for the house for a while. I am aware that it could take a while of trying and I need my body clock to be back to normal too as been on the pill for 11 years now, so coming off the pill in Jan will give it time.

I just think if we don't set a date for me to come off the pill we could put it off for a lot longer and there are always going to be challenges to face.

Getting quite excited already haha!

Well done blondy for having the chat with your OH and coming to a decision. I need to have a similar chat soon...I've been using the evra patch and I've read stories of women having difficulty getting back to normal after coming off it so part of me thinks it would be best to stop sooner rather than later and use some other form of contraceptive until we want to TTC.

Hello, how is everyone today? I have no energy whatsoever (for no apparent reason) so I'm having a relaxed afternoon before working tonight.

Following the question on the thread yesterday about folic acid, and all the reading I've done about it over the past week or so, I decided to take my own advice so I've been out and bought some this morning and took the first one. I figure if I start now, by the time it's really necessary I might be in enough of a habit with it that a) there will be some built up in my system and b) I won't forget to take them (fingers crossed!).

I plan on buying my first bottle of folic acid this week. I just cannot decide when to come off the pill! So difficult, I would prefer to get pregnant in a couple of months - so if I came off the pill now it could take ages or it could just happen!!

It is a really difficult decision! Part of me really wants to come off the hormonal contraceptive right away to see what my body does when left to its own devices - I had about a year break from the pill years ago and went straight back to a normal cycle, but I'm several years older now and worry that I might not be so lucky again.

On the flip side, I quite like not having horrific cramps or heavy AF and not having to worry about condoms etc.

Ho humm.

Lol me too! One of the main reasons I haven't stopped the pill yet! I also know your dilemma about being unsure about when to come off the pill. If only we could book an "I want to get pregant today please" date! I've already decided mine would be 1st October:rotfl:

I got my blood tests back and not hypothyroidism but slightly low vitamin B12 for which I'll just need one injection so fairly happy with that result
