That's amazing:shocked::T
I actually lost 8.5lbs in the last week (I'd already lost a stone in 4wks but then there was the wedding we went to and my bday weekend etc
) alone...I think the metformin must've kicked in to help my body stop retaining so much sugar??

When are you beginning?
I'll come off the mini-pill in August (can't go on the combined due to a blood condition) and we'll see what happens! I wouldn't be surprised if there's no sign of AF until christmas though, last time I came off the pill it took 6 months. :mad:But I have lost 20lbs in the last 2monthsI think the metformin must've kicked in to help my body stop retaining so much sugar??
Is that for PCOS if you don't mind me asking? I'm not medicated for it at the moment but I'm seriously considering metformin when I come off the pill. Help regulate stuff!DEBT FREE 3rd Sept 2011

There are more of us than I thought
I had stopped because I had visions of me and euro being the only ones on the list! :rotfl:
How do we want to do this? At the moment I have user names and projected dates. Presumably we won't have a 'graduates list' on this one? Unless people post back when they get their BFPs?Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -

DH has just lost 20lbs too in the last month or so too! He's been doing a mental amount of exercise in the last couple of weeks too though.
(think: taking the dogs on a 3.5mile walk with 17lbs of weights in his backpack and another 3lbs of ankle weights on!)

Afternoon all and welcome to all new posters, looks like there are a lot of us in the same boat!Welcome to all newbies & mintedby30? nice username!
Thanks for the welcome Jen, Yeah the minted username was made up when 30 seamed a long way off, not so much now! My real name is....
Jenhonestly! It's a fab name isn't it?!
I am another one joining the "must lose weight b4 ttc" school of thought. I actually posted on MSE a few years ago on a weight loss thread and have managed to lose a couple of stone since then. I am still heavier now though than I was at 9 months pregnant!
I tell people all the time I just need to lose the baby weight and they say "aww, bless, how old is your baby?" Erm 6 and a half!!! :rotfl:
It'll be fab for us all to have some weight loss support and nice that we all have the same reason for our health kicks!
Dreamdreamer, Bigzippy & Triangle- well done on the weightlosses so far!
It looks like quite a few of us are looking to start ttc early 2012, are any of you doing anything else in preperation just now? It's probably too early to start taking pre-natal vits, I thought maybe 6 months before trying? Is anyone taking them already?
I've also started (just this cycle, CD 13 (I think) today) to chart my BBT and have also done a couple of OPK tests, the clearblue one- no smiley yet! I'm really just hoping to get a proper idea of my cycle and ovulation. My periods can be regular for months then be really erratic for a few months, last year had mainly 30/31/32 day cycles but I had a couple that were 50+ It's all a bit strange. I've never been on any hormonal contraception.
Is there anything I'm maybe not thinking of that may be a good idea to do soon?

I'm on metformin for the PCOS yes. They found out I had Impaired Glucose Tolerance (a sort of prediabetes that goes out to play with PCOS) after they found the PCO on the scan. It's supposed to help the way your body absorbs sugar (so it lays down less as fat) and therefore that has a knock on affect on your hormone production, from my understanding.clearing_out_my_pockets wrote: »Presumably we won't have a 'graduates list' on this one? ooh the list at the front is very exciting - I'm not sure when we will start to TTC but I know when I want my baby to be born to fit in best with the other birthdays/christmas/school (Feb/March or September) so i will have to work back 9 months from that. I know that sounds a bit presumptuous but I'm one of those annoying pregnant first try women (both times) though I am pretty aware of my cycle so it wasn't exactly a total accident. Having said that I'm prepared for it not to go that way this time. We have a history of early menopause in my family - my mother started at 28 and I'm 27 in a fortnight so my uber fertility could already be history.
Amazing weightlosses ladies - well done!! - I hope you can inspire me to shift the last 20 or so pounds (I put on over 3 stone last preg and on a 5' 2" person thats a lot!) at least its only about 10lb to a healthy weight but lots more to get back into all my clothes!0
