euronorris - I'm on the copper IUD as well and whilst you are right that it going in is pretty horrid - removal is an absolute doddle. I had to check with the doctor that she'd actually done it!
Oh thank God for that! I really had to fight the urge not to pull away or punch the doctor when he was inserting it! :rotfl:February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
After I had my first one put in the nurse (who had been holding my hand) said that I was very brave and that normally the women faint.
So glad they didn't tell me that before they started!
dreamdreamer - great news on your maternity pay. You prompted me to look mine up which resulted in me doing a little dance in my office. My staff now think I am more bonkers than they already did
What's the weather like in the UK today? Has the lovely sunny spell broken yet? It's been chucking it down with rain for 6 hours so far this morning here."No society can surely be flourishing and happy of which by far the greater part of the numbers are poor and miserable"Adam Smith6/300 -
Morning ladies
My first attempt at multi-quote...bear with me!Triangle - totally get what you mean about the heart vs head thing. My heart is saying "baby!" and my head says . I am sure at some point I will realise I am a grown up (I'm 28!).

I'm hoping that this will stop me from SS every month when I am TTC'ing! lol
I think that's it.
Is this a free website to use Euronorris? I have only been tracking length of cycles so far - what's the benefits of taking temps? After I had my first one put in the nurse (who had been holding my hand) said that I was very brave and that normally the women faint.

Beautiful day so far here in the East
Oooh forgot say - dreamdreamer - that maternity package sounds amazing! I'm starting new job in July :T and have no idea what their maternity policy is yet.
I think someone else asked about what people were doing in preparation for TTC? So far I have...- Bought a conception/pregnancy book
- Bought a terramundi 'baby fund' pot :rotfl:
- Off the pill/implant and tracking cycles. So far they have been 29 and 30 days long which I *think* is fairly average
- I'm also considering taking folic acid from next month (6 months before TTC)

:T Yay for multi-quoting!!!
Fertility friend is free. Temping helps you to establish when you're ovulating which is very helpful when you come to TTCDon't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
Yes, FF is free for the standard version. But, they quite often do free trials for the VIP service too.
I opted to buy it for a year in the end as it was only about 30 quid or so, and I prefer the layout of the VIP service.
During an average cycle your temp will dip on the day you ov, and then start to raise and remain elevated until just before AF arrives (or remain elevated if you are pregnant). I don't fully understand the ins and outs, but that is the very basic level info. I believe that FF also offers a lot of information about temping, how to do it, what it means etc.
Temping can be particularly useful if you are experiencing irregular periods, or are unsure if you are ovulating etc as it will help to identify when/if you have ovulated. It's not 100% accurate, but it gives you an idea, and of course you then know the best time to BD when you are tryingFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Well done to all those who are losing weight you're doing really well:T I've just checked my BMI to see what I am and turns out I'm in the healthy range:j Last time I did it I was slightly obese:o I've done a few and the BHF one seems to be more generous than my doctor is:p:rotfl:
Not much to report here, had uber rows with neighbour yesterday, his fault not mine the pr!ck and stayed up til ridiculous o'clock waiting for police and they never showed! Then my fabulous daughter decided that 5:30am was a good time to wake up:eek: Little madam, she was damned if she was gonna go back to sleep so I'm currently feeling as though I should be eating my lunch not brekkie, ok ok more like early elevenses;):)
As for TTCing, I'm not allowed til November:( and then we'll get cracking til Feb and recommence around april/may:D
Kalama, i'm in the midlands and its dry but cloudy, looks like rain is threatening:( glad I didn't put my washing on the line this morning:cool:
Whoever mentioned vitamins etc, the sooner the better:)
In the office on my todd today:j so plenty of work to do!:(

Just had an email from MMC(similar to FF) but with very cute bunnies and I personally found it easier to use but I didn't temp or anything last time, I purely went off CM:o:o anyway they're saying their premium fertility option is free until Aug 2011 think it's for those who temp but not 100% sure! Might be worth looking at anyway

Ooh - think I might have to start temping then so I can work out OV stuff! I could get the fertility monitor thingymabobs sent out via Amazon but all our post gets x-rayed in the UK and then a label stuck on it saying what it is......:o
It also gets bashed around quite a bit inside the mail bags, as I found out when my lovely Mummy sent me out a care kit full of tampons - only for the packaging to rip open in transit. I don't know who was more embarrassed - the guy unpacking the mail or me!
Although having just looked at the price of stuff on Amazon I think temping is a much more MSE approach!
I think I am going to start moaning about the rain more as since I posted it has stopped and we now have some blue sky and sunshine peeking through the clouds."No society can surely be flourishing and happy of which by far the greater part of the numbers are poor and miserable"Adam Smith6/300 -
