Hi,
I'm told they don't issue Electron cards. My Citibank VISA card has the delta logo on the back so I guess they are all "full, proper" VISA Debit cards.

They didn't mention a cheque book with mine but they still sent me one, I will be paying my salary in but I didn't tell them that at the time, I've only just decided.:jMutual Supporters club member (Nov 2006)

I just called them and asked for a cheque book and they sent me one - I have no salary going into the account! They only issue Visa debit cards - not Electron - or so they told me when I called. I only got a debit card not one with a cheque guarantee so I guess it depends on your credit score - mine is extremmely poor.0

I opened a Citibank Sterling Current Account a couple of months back, and used their customer services chat facility to clear up some of the ambiguous info.
- To get a cheque book and £500 free overdraft you must have your salary paid direct into it, or £1500 deposited monthly otherwise. (Not sure how strict they are with the 'otherwise' bit?).
- Get a Visa Debit card regardless - no need to deposit salary or £1500. No cheque guarantee ... 'cos no chequebook! (This was the option I went for).
- The Visa debit card is the business - used lots now on web purchases no hassle.

I have another question about this account.
Are the debit cards sent through the normal post? Is it sent recorded delivery? Do I have to stay in for a courier? Do I have to sign for anything?
Just don't want to be out if there is a chance that I have to wait for Mr Postman0 -
