In order to get the £50 quidco (or other cashback site) reward, does the account have to actually be used/active/salary-in...or just approved and open?
For the former, would paying in (and out again, shortly after) a 1k+ cheque and a pile of smaller ones every month suffice?0 -
Hi Brabzzz
I opened one of these when Quidco has the offer for £50 cashback and the iPod (though not yet received the latter).
I suspect you'd have to show willing and fund the account with the required minimum - at least until your Quidco cash comes through anyway!
For the iPod offer they did have extra conditions that you had to keep it going and adequately funded for, I think, at least 6 months otherwise they would charge you for the iPod.
I have my salary paid in and then withdraw it and put it back into better interest-earning accounts. Have been doing so for the last 3 months or so without complaint.
Good luck with your application.

I too said no to the OD, but only because I did not want to be declined. I would actually like to OD "just in case"
However, having loked at all the literature and Terms & Conditions, it says that if you have your salary paid into the account then the £500 OD comes with the account.
Yet, on the form it says that if you want to take advantage of the OD then you need to supply a pay slip.
I wish I had sent the payslip now. Do you think it is worth callin ghtem up and asking, or should I just wait until the stuff arrives to see of they have given me one anyway?
Although I would prob not use the OD, it woould be nice to know that it's there - in case I need it...
Has anyone on here ticked the OD box, and did you get the OD?
Has anyone asked for the OD AFTER the account had been opened and got it/been refused?
Taa for reading
P.S. Nothing in the post today btw. No welcome pack, no acceptance letteer and no card(s). I applied for the saver and current account, and have received letter with pins last week0 -
Just a word of warning about the debit card you get with this account, I have found to my cost that although it is a Visa debit the card is still rejected in various places. This seems to be mainly in places which don't use chip and pin machines.
I went shopping last week and my card got declined for £12 when there was £1800 in the account.
It appears that the transactions have to be authorised each and every time unlike some other visa debit cards.0 -
Ipod, what ipod? Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit - i missed an opportunity there. :rotfl: Well, i guess i can't really complain about only £50.
Ah well. I've got the £1 - now i'm just waiting for the other £50 in. I suppose I'd better pay something in too!0 -

I ticked the box to say NO to the OD but my credit rating is very good, my husband's isn't so good, so we didn't want to be declined for the whole account because we couldn't get an OD.
However we are having my salary at approx 12k per year paid in, hubby's salary, approx 25k and my student loan paid in, approx 6k, I think this is why we may have got the 3 in 1 card, although I am not sure this is why, it could be based on credit ratings or something like that.£2 Coin Savers Club (Christmas)- £86£1 Jar (Christmas)- £29Christmas Vouchers Saved: £1450 -
Wow I got my Visa Delta debit card today & it looks great, much better looking than my Co-op Electron! When I called up to activate the card they ordered me a cheque book as soon as I requested it & said in three months I can apply to have my account upgraded to the 3in1 card, but i'm so so happy with the 2in1, Citibank rock as does the MSE'er who brought it to our attention, i'm so excited i'm like a kid @ xmas!0

Happy News all round! I received my 3 in 1 card this morning
No welcome pack yet, so I don't know the account number. Will try and access internet banking to see if I can get hold of it then send it to Payroll
The card is a beauty! I did ask them about the OD, and I was told that once my first salary has gone in I should call them back and they will arrange it.
I assume a cheque book is on it's way as I have a £100 cheque guarantee card - or do I need to request it? Anyone know?
What a grand start to the new year for me!0 -
Dunno - I can't remember if they sent me one (all their bumph is in a box somewhere under the bed) - but i remember seeing an option to request it withing the online banking menues - as well as power of attorney forms and other stuff...
I'm even tempted to switch from Lloyds to Citi - the online banking seems more thorough, their cheque guarantee limit higher and the option of linked accounts in other currencies useful. And their branches can't be as grotty as most of the Lloyds ones...0
