  • I'm seeming to be having some problems with Citibank already...although it might just be me.

I'm trying to set up an online direct debit for a new pet insurance policy which will commence in Feb 07. Tesco will not let me use the Citibank account number and sort code.

Went on to PayPal to add the card to my account and again it won't let me and ditto for trying to set up another direct debit.

Is this just because funds haven't cleared in my account do you think?

Oh have you activated the card? It won't work until you do :)
  • Have been onto online banking and checked the account no, all tally's up. Have also activated my card and have used it to change my PIN.
Frustrated because I want to start changed my Direct Debits over and indeed my salary and if it is not recognising the account no, then I'm stuck.

  • With regards to paypal, I also tried to set up a direct debit with them. I was unable, I phoned paypal and they told me they were aware of a problem with citibank customers being able to set up paypal direct debits.

However I have had no other problems setting up my other direct debits.
  • Strange that, if anything I thought it would be the sort code that would be the problem. You are using the one printed on your card right?

I have transferred over a few DD's and had no problems! :o
  • Yes, maybe I'll leave it until my £1500 hits my Citibank account and then see. Maybe I am being too eager and I have to wait 24 hours after my card is activated?

Ah! Maybe it needs some time to work through the system.

I set my DD's up a couple of days later..had no probs so far.. :D
  • It's the most likely thing I can think of! Mind you, my transfer wouldn't have gone ahead if I had the incorrect bank details??? (probably just made that up!) Thanks Diddie
